I had heard a lot about this product, but frankly I was disappointed by it. Menthol and Camphor are both known drying ingredients, which does the exact opposite of a lip balm. It seems like Carmex are trying to ensure a constant market for their product by drying out people's lips as they try to use it. I liked the balm's texture, and didn't mind the smell some people have described, but the inclusion of menthol has totally ruined it.

This product is amazing. It is my go-to favourite lip balm. It tingles and makes your lips feel cold when you first apply it - this really shows that it's working. For only $5 you must buy this product!
I received a tub of this balm in a subscription box a while ago. I tried it out when I first got it but I found the taste and smell quite unpleasant so I didn't use it again. A few weeks ago I had a cold and my lips were so dry and gross and I remembered that I had this so I pulled it out of my collection to use again.
This is a heavily scented product, not by perfume but just the natural smell of the ingredients. It reminds me a little bit of the vicks smell with a slight vanilla note. It's not very appealing to want to put on your lips but if you can get past the smell, it really does work wonders. I applied this at night before I went to bed with my gross lips and woke up to nice moisturized, soft lips again. I also used some on my four year old sons lips and sore cheeks from being sick and his face looked so much better the next Day!
This does have an instant cooling effect when you apply it. Its different but feels nice. There's a bit of a taste when you lick your lips so I prefer to use this as my bedtime lip balm rather than during the day when I will taste it.
I like that this comes in a few different forms as not everyone likes applying lip products with fingers. I would buy this, I think I would go for the stick version for next time.
My favourite lip balm ever, hydrates the lips and fits perfectly into wallet/handbag and is super cheap and does a great Job
This stuff is amazing!! Ive used it 4 times and it moisturises my lips, has a nice smell, leaves your lips feeling more repaired, healthy looking with a little bit of shine.
Tips: Great for those hot days, or windy days where you need a little moisture on the lips
Yes well I used it a couple times when it arrived my partner saw me and asked to use it, I've not seen it since lol. I just told him he had to help write the review as he stole it so I asked him the important questions. Smells nice, lasts couple hours, good stuff, so there you go his review. I did like the consistency when applying and the smell not too strong and felt it really hydrated my lips when I got to use it lol
Tips: Don't leave it lying around, it will be stolen
I wanted to love this lip balm but its really not for me. As soon as I put this on my lips they were extremely tingly, in an uncomfortable way. Not sure if this lip balm is supposed to have this effect or not? Glad this is a freebie, will pass this onto my partner who hopefully will like it.
This product has both good and bad qualities. Firstly I like the texture and the thick consistency and application is smooth. I like the initial slight vanilla scent, but then it changes and the taste and smell make me feel sick. It leaves my lips soft for a while which is nice and the slight tingle from the menthol is not unpleasant, I also like that the tube is bright yellow and red so its hard to loose in my bag. I just find the smell and taste that I get in my mouth when I use this really unpleasant.
I got this free from the website and am going to give it an honest review. I hated it! I put a little bit on my lips and they stung for ages, even got my eyes watering! Way too strong for me and not at all what I am looking for in a lip balm!
I received the little pottle version of this, rather than the tube, in one of the GoodieBox parcels last year. I'm so glad I did!
My first impression was 'oh my god, did they send me vicks???' but after a while, I got used to the warm tingling sensation and I use it religiously now. It sits on the side table next to the sofa just in arms reach, so I can apply whenever I like.
The little pottle is all white with a yellow lid, and inside the golden product. Using a finger, take the smallest amount possible. It's super easy to put on, so if you start with a small amount, once it warms, its actually more than you thought it was and you aren't left scraping product back into the little container.
As I said, slight tingling sensation, but once you are used to it, it is quite pleasant. It disappears (or you stop noticing) the feeling, though the menthol smell doesn't quite go away, and the taste is terrible, and best of all, it lasts for hours. I can apply it at 7 and still feel it as I'm about to head to bed.
This is best used after you've exfoliated your lips. I haven't had to exfoliate for a while though, as my lips have been perfect because of this balm!
