All I'd been hearing about were the Whitening Lightening/ Gerard Cosmetics lipglosses, so while ordering a lipstick bundle I decided to try a lipgloss bundle too. I'm not a huge fan of lipgloss but hearing people loving these made me want them.
I have shades:
Nude: a peachy nude, this is my favourite out of my 3. It's oaque enough to wear alone but you can also use it over a lipstick.
Coral Craze: I HATE this one! It applies gross and shade doesn't suit me (not its fault!) it kind of looks patchy and gluggy looking. Yuk, the formula doesn't impress me!
Rosehill: this is a pretty, opaque dark rose colour.
They all have a tacky feel which makes them last a while. Not overly sticky but not quite a pleasant feeling either! The scent is really nice, fruity!
The packaging is quite big. They have gold lids which look nice. Doe foot applicator (is that how you describe gloss applicators??) it has a clear body so you can see the colour and product. On the side is a little mirror and the lid has lights in so you can app,y in the dark. I actually find the lights annoying while applying.
Overall I'm not going to be repurchasing any more, lipglosses aren't for everyone and while I'm not overly fussy on them I find these to be very overhyped.
A few months ago there was a discount code to get a bundle of three lipglosses for around $30-ish including shipping. So many YouTubers had been raving about how great these glosses were so I decided to try them out for myself . Firstly I was a bit confused as I'd expected them to all have the same packaging, all three have different packaging. Two have silver lids with the labelling printed in white onto the tube, one is Gerard Cosmetics white the other is branded as Whitening Lightening then the third has a gold lid and the Gerard Cosmetics 'GC' logo printed onto the lid. This isn't a huge deal, I just guess I'd expected them all to be from the same stock. The packaging is okay, I do think it would be more attractive if they were all the same and you had the choice to switch the lights off on the wand which can be a bit distracting.
The formula I feel varies from colour to colour but all three I purchased carry the same scent which smelt familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on what it was until summer rolled around and I had to break out the fly spray again- that's it, their scent reminds me of fly spray but with a slight hint of fruit. It's chemically and very artificially scented, not extremely horrible to the point I can't tolerate it but certainly not appealing to me either.
Coral Craze- The colour is nice but the formulation lets it down big time. Super sticky, gluggy looking/feeling and patchy! I haven't found a way to apply this without looking like I have really dry, chapped patches on my lips.
Butter Cream- This one is a very wearable nude pink shade on me, the formula is nicer than Coral Craze but I do find it sinks into the lines on my lips and gathers there more than I'd like but that could be a lipgloss thing. If I wear a nude lipliner underneath it's not as bad so overall I do like this colour, it's easy to throw on and is easily wearable.
Seduction- A really pretty bold wine colour that pairs stunningly with MAC Rebel, Diva & Nightmoth. I love this shade, the formula is much like Butter Cream in my opinion but I think with it being a darker colour I don't notice is sinking into the lines on my lips as much.
Overall I think these are just glosses, nothing spectacular and certainly not worth the normal RRP!
