I have heard so much about how amazing Charlotte Tilbury products were before I started my journey of discovering their products that even I was sceptical of the hype but wow this lip pencil is going to take something pretty epic to stop me using it under every lipstick I own!
Packaging wise this is a wooden lip pencil which is great news as I do prefer the crisp sharpness that a wooden pencil give you versus and automatic pencil that at times can be quite fragile and not forgiving if you apply too much pressure upon application. Pretty in it's rose gold toned wrapping and luxurious touches of their logo and detailing with a glossy coat to protect the body of the pencil plus give it that little bit of extra glamour. The lid fits so snuggly and like to stay on! keeping the nib of the pencil free from any damage or dirt collection.
Formula is a creamy texture that softly glides over the contours of your natural lip lines and has a firmness that allows you to keep those lines neat and crisp, but soft enough to bring the lines over the lips to blur and create a even tone in preparation of lipsticks. Without any feathering, bleeding into the skin surrounding the lips or toughing and catching the motion of the liner is sheer breathtaking for a pencil and in the shade pillow talk gives your lips that plump look that so many of us crave.
I currently own the shades Pillow Talk and Bad Romance.
Pillow Talk is a soft pink beige nude that will suit almost every skin tone and is great for using with any lip shade as a base and liner.
Bad Romance is a deep aubergine purple that is great to line your lips in preparation for those dark vampy colours.
Another great thing about these lip liners are that they are strong fast and even when you are removing your makeup at the end of the day you will find the lip liner still there under the lipstick remains holding fast. However they wash easily off with an oil cleanser, warm water and cotton cloth.
I seriously can not rave enough about this product and will continue to hype it up for very valid reason.
I purchased the Charlote Tilbury lip cheat in Pillow Talk after hearing it being called a must-have all over Instagram. I don't have an issue with dry lips, however lip liners in the past have often dried out my lips quickly and made my lipstick appear flaky. To avoid this, I only apply lip liner to line the outside of my lips, however this results in an obvious line, particularly after a few hours. The Charlotte Tilbury lip cheat in pillow talk changed my lipstick routine. I now reach for this lip liner almost every time I wear lipstick, not just on days where I really, really need it to last. This is because I notice zero dryness with this product, even after days of use. It makes no impact to the condition of my lips, but makes a beautiful difference to the appearance and longevity of my lipstick.
This lip liner is in bronze packaging and can be sharpened rather than rolled up. It isn't the most luxurious Charlotte Tilbury product, but it is beautiful for a lip liner. Inside is a soft, smooth lip liner that still remains a lip liner rather than a creamy lipstick. I personally wouldn't describe it as 'velvety' but to me that is a positive as velvety formulas tend to shift on my lips or fade quickly. This product is soft, but it still latches onto the lips. It is suitable for lining the lips, or lining and filling in.
The shade of this lipstick is difficult to describe as it changes a lot depending on the lips that it is applied to. On my hand, it is a very pink nude, however on my lips it deepens. This is really going to depend on the person.
I don't struggle with lipstick bleeding, so I use lip liner to enhance the pigmentation and longevity of my lipstick. When combined with CT Bitch Perfect, my lips are the perfect nude. It enhances the colour of the lipstick and makes a significant difference to how long my lipstick lasts. I would go as far as to say that this lip liner provides an extra 34 hours of fully applied, pigmented lipstick. I will repurchase this lip liner when it runs out, and I'm currently not searching for any other lip liners.
Tips: Line AND fill in the lips to enhance the longevity of your lipstick.
