Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon Reviews

I got this in a coral orangey/red colour. Not one I'd normally choose for myself but it seems the Christmas fates have intervened and told me I needed a change and it looks fabulous. You can swizzle it up and it has a small sharpener on the outside. It has a dual purpose a lip liner and then you can fill in your lips. A crayon is a good name for it and it even smells like a crayon sort of a play dough sort of smell. It stayed on well and although there was transfer it was at an acceptable level.

I liked it and i'll be checking out the other colours in the range.

This was a surpise gem for me. I have the crayon in the shade 'laugh louder' Its a corally red shade which isn't something I'd normally use. However its BEAUTIFUL.

Like all of the maybelline trial products I cant get over just how long the application lasts. It looked flawless all day and made my lips look delicious.

Its a matte shade which really complimented the use of the burgandy pallette- the partys all in the shadows you see.

Another feature I loved was the actuall smell of the product- almost smells like vanilla? I found it to be moisturising on my lips as well. If the product smelt like 'crayons' like some lip pencils do that would have put me off but this smely so yummy I could eat it.

Its easy to apply, I didnt feel like I NEEDED a lip liner but if you wanted a more defined lip thats also an option.

Packagings strong and simple, with a twist top to ensure you get the most out of the product and for hygeine purposes.

I've worn this every day since reveiving it. 5 lip kisses from me .Mwah mwah....MWAH!!

I received the colour 40 laugh louder to trial, which is a bright orange shade, the smell of the crayon was very pleasant, slightly vanilla scented if anything. The shade is an intense payoff and tends to stain your lips, which is a good thing if you want it to last until your next meal. There are many shades in this range, i would suggest to pop into your nearest store and swatch shades to find your perfect match. I prefer this to conventional lipstick, perhaps because its easier to hold and control.

Unfortunately this was the totally wrong colour for my complexion (an orange base) but I used it a couple of times at home and was pleasantly surprised. It goes on nice and smoothly and does last, but not as long as it says. Anything that lasts longer than half an hour is a bonus, this lasted a couple of hours.

There was no packaging on this, just the Ink Crayon but the shape and colour make it stand out.

If I can find the right colour for me then I will buy.

Woo what a colour! I got Laugh Louder 040 which is a orange red colour and its nice and bright for a festive pop of colour!!! Im not a bright lippy kinda girl but i thought what the hell id try it so i did once lol It was easy to apply almost like its name ink crayon, it blends really well and has a nice moisturiser to it. I found the staying power really good the colour did dull down a bit over the day which to be honest with i was quite happy about and i love the idea of the inbuilt sharpener as i find it easier to blend with a sharper point. Im keen to try another colour that i may wear more often so id still say it was/is a great product.

Laugh Louder! What a name for a colour, such fun. Super cool orange, I had so many comments at work, a real winning colour if you love orange.

This ink crayon is super easy to apply, its just like a crayon. It has a nifty sharpener so you always have a point for lining your lips as well as filling them in.

I was impressed with the rich creamy formula however I felt it was a bit drying which I didnt like. I did try it using a lip balm first and that worked for me a bit better, but I would prefer not to have to use 2 lip products.

For me I liked to staying power of this formula, I reapplied after lunch which took me through to home time.

I liked this lip crayon a lot, colour payoff is great, very handy for travel as there’s an in-built sharpener at the end of it, so very easy to take this on trips, no need to pack a sharpener! It applies precisely and gives a very good coverage, not quite matte though, it takes some time to dry sadly and also not very long-lasting, at least not for me. It comes off after/while eating, but it kinda just fades evenly, so at least not looking ugly before topping up the colour. It definitely doesn’t last those 8 hrs it promises, so that’s why I took some stars off. It doesn’t dry my lips out like some other matte lipsticks, so that’s a positive as well, all in all, this is a great, travel-friendly lippy, I think I’ll pick some more shades up in the future!

I got the shade LAUGH LOUDER which is a Redy Orange shade. It is quite an intense colour, i wouldn't normally reach for this but gave it ago when going out one night and surprising liked it! I did a simple eye look to go with this lipstick so my lips popped. I was impressed with how well it stained on lips as i was drinking out of a can and when i came home i still needed makeup remover to remove it from my lips. It is easy to apply and really does go on like a " crayon " It's like using a lip liner to apply almost, stays well like a lip liner as well. I over drawn my lips and it still looked great! I also love the simple packaging. Id defiantly buy a nude shade in this product!

If you're after a quick and easy lip crayon, this one isn't your guy.

I trialed #55 Make It Happen, and while the colour probably wasn't the perfect shade for me (looks like a deep berry from the tube, but is actually a very deep pink!), what such a bright colour taught me was how tricky this product is to achieve a perfect line with.

The crayon has a pointed tip and comes with a sharpener, however I found that the slightly tacky consistency of the product made achieving a neat line difficult, and I was constantly fixing and re-fixing bits of my initial application.

This was made more tricky by the fact that this lippie definitely lives up to the INK bit of its name - this thing will stain your lips like no tomorrow! Unfortunately that also meant that when I was fixing and reapplying to try and get an even and neat application, I did experience staining around my lips even after just a short time.

This product might be easier to use/apply in a different (nude) shade, and while the colour wasn't for me, it was rich and stunning! However after my experience with this one, I wouldn't purchase this again or recommend to a friend, based on how tricky I found it to use.

I am trialling the shade #55 Make it Happen. Which is a beautiful deep burgundy.

This product is really easy to apply. The directions tell you to outline your lip and then full it in. Once your lip crown is no longer sharp you can sharpen it with the provided sharpener at the bottom of the ink Crown which is really handy to get a precise outline on your lip.

This product is highly pigmented so you don't need a lot and I suggest that you start lightly and then build up your colour if you prefer it darker. It is a soft matte shade and has tremendous staying power. During my 10 hour shift at work I reapplied my lipstick during my brakes but only a tiny bit.

It didn't smudge when touched and I really do look forward to trying some other shades within this range because they are so easy to use and stay on all day. Would definitely recommend.
