I have several of these lippys but chose this one specifically to review as it is my handbag favourite. It lives there and will live there forever!
This colour is a definite "my lips, but better" colour and goes with every single makeup look I have ever done. It is a pink-toned nude that is slightly on the peachy side.
The formula is great - it's soft and moisturising, does not dry up your lips or have a plasticky scent (like my Mum's old Revlon lipsticks used to!). It sits on the lips and doesn't sink into lines, or cling to dry patches. It lasts a decent amount of time, but is not a long-wearing lipstick (nor is it marketed to be so).
I love to wear this colour both by itself, or with another colour (or gloss) over top.
I love the packaging! It's classic "Revlon" with the black tube and the gold band around the middle. The top is clear so you can see the colour easily and it's labelled clearly at the bottom in the matching coloured sticker too.
I recommend this lipstick to those that want to get used to wearing lipstick as it is not a bold over the top colour, and would suit any skin colour!
I only own this lipstick in the one shade, 477 Black Cherry. I am new to wearing lipstick, and wanted a dark shade to wear in autumn/winter. I ended up with this one purely because of the colour - it's the most beautiful shade for the colder months, and exactly the deep, dark, not-quite-purple but not-quite-red kind of shade that I was looking for. Once I saw the price I was absolutely sold.
The lipstick itself applies smoothly, and I find it easy to apply nicely without a lip liner. I was worried that it would bleed without a lip liner, but surprisingly I have yet to see it happen. The formula is nice and creamy and doesn't dry out my lips, which is a huge plus since I wanted this to wear in the colder months when my lips have seen better days.
Sadly it isn't a very long lasting lipstick. After a 3 hour lecture with no eating, drinking and very little talking, the colour manages to begin disappearing all on its own. This makes me a little uncomfortable when I wear it, i'll realise i've had it on for a while and think "oh no, has it worn off in patches?" and dash to the nearest mirror. The colour is to die for though, so i'll still be wearing it all autumn/winter.
