I really liked this lip crayon it is super creamy, feels amazing on and i love the fact the sharpener is built in. It goes the distance during the day and the colour stays well, if u want to shine things up just add a little gloss over top. I would highly reccomend giving this product a go. Only thing I did notice that might be a slight negative is the dark colours stain the lips a bit even after using a makeup remover.

Tips: Keep it nice and sharp to get precise lines
I loved the brilliant little sharpener encased in the top of this product, this would make for easy 'on the go' sharpening and reapplication when you needed a nice sharp line on your lips. This product has a pleasant vanilla fragrance which is nice. I trialed #55 Make It Happen - the colour of the crayon in the applicator definitely does NOT match the colour it comes out on your lips. The crayon is a dark berry/burgundy colour in the applicator, however on my lips it was a really bright and garish dark pink, it looked awful! In the interest of fairly trialing this product, I waited to wear it to test the longevity until the weekend when I knew I wasn't going to be going out in public. My husband squinted at me and shook his head more than once, amused at my scientific research ;) Initially the crayon goes on with a tackiness that dries out after a couple of minutes. I noticed the first time I drank anything that it transferred onto the glass. After about 2hrs I noticed that what was left on my lips was patchy and didn't look good at all. I also noticed my lips were feeling quite dry. I reapplied the product (much to my husband's amusement) and found again the transfer onto glasses/cups and with eating as well, left the product patchy and my lips still feeling very dry. I wiped off what was left of the product with a makeup wipe, which removed the surface colour, however my lips were stained a very bright and unflattering pink. I don't think this product can claim to last 8hrs unless you also used a super-stay type gloss or balm over top to help with the staying power. Not my most favourite product and I would be reluctant to purchase it.
Tips: Make sure you can try a tester product on the back of your hand or inside of your wrist to determine the actual colour, don't go by the colour of the crayon itself.
This ink crayon, is definitely an INK crayon. Unfortunately I had the wrong colour choice for me which was a deep red and definitely not suited to me but we gave it a go anyways. I definitely noted that you had to be quite steady with your hand to achieve perfect lips, which is quite common with any red and definitely applies to the title of CRAYON and drawing on the lip. The formula feels so nice and smooth on application and the pigmentation in this product is unreal and without proper priming or powdering, stains your skin and lips! Going forward I have used this product to smudge in the middle of my lips and mix with a more flattering colour for me or even use with a gloss to achieve a slight Korean lip effect. I would love to try another colour in this as I believe its an awesome product!
I love this lip crayon! Lip crayons are typically my favourite type of lip product, they’re so easy to apply and feel nicer on my lips as they’re moisturising but also doesn’t move around and get everywhere during the day compared to lipsticks. I also like that with lip crayons you can decide how much pigment you want on your lips through the way you apply by either dabbing it on and smoothing it out or applying it straight on. I also love that you can use lip balm with this as well as I get really dry lips and this almost turns into a tint. I will say that you need to have some what smooth lips otherwise the lip colour will show up kinda patchy. It doesn’t have any scent which is nice and the packaging is slim so it’s so easy to chuck in a bag and take with you in the go if you need to reapply
This review is based on the product itself, not the shade, as the shade I was sent (40: Laugh Louder) is orange, and looks horrid on me. I've already agreed to gift it to a blonde friend, who loves the colour, so all is well there! Simply a mismatch between my own colouring and the shade.
I would be very tempted to buy one of these in my preferred shades - a hot pink would be awesome.
This product is a lip liner/pencil/lipstick all in one. It comes in slimline packaging featuring an absolutely genius inbuilt sharpener. This not only stops your lip and eye products sharing a sharpener (hello germ transfer!), it means that you're assured of a tip to use for lining no matter where you are applying the product.
It applies and feels much like lipstick, creamy, non drying, comfortable - but slightly sticky; it doesn't 'dry' completely. It's NOT transfer proof, however it also stains, so while the top colour transfers, your lips are left with the colour as well.
I found by the end of the day i had uneven patches of it I ended up wiping off, so that's something to watch out for - reapplication, or at the very least rejuvenation with a bit of lip balm would be key. Because of this, it can't perfectly claim it's 'superstay' title, especially compared to the Matte Ink liquid, which is one of my holiest of holy grails.
So saying, coverage is full, opaque and bright.
Why doesn't it get full marks? - transfer and fading could be a little annoying - haven't been able to try it out on a full day event etc due to timing of trial but suspect that it wouldn't hold up for a full day
Tips: line, fill in, blot then fill in again for the brightest colour payoff.
These Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayons are a favourite of mine - I have 4 colours in total. They're nice and compact so slide easily into the handbag.
Application is so easy - use the point of the crayon to line and then simply fill lips with the crayon colour. It glides on so easily, and doesn't bleed. It has reasonable staying powder - I apply a couple of times a day out of habit but generally lasts the morning before re-applying. I love the little sharpener that is screwed into the other end - it's quick and easy to sharpen the crayon to a point if you like to line the lips carefully before applying lippy. I tend to let mine go rounded/blunt to make it easy to apply lippy on the go. Application is so easy that I even managed to master the bright red lippy look without over-doing it! I love them.
Removal - it needs a makeup remover/cleanser of some sort to completely remove it. I tend to find micellar water a good remover for this lip crayon.
I love these crayons. Have become a bit of a collector of them, and will continue using them now they're a favourite

I was already a convert of the Superstay Ink Crayons when I received this trial, so it was with pleasure that I was accepted. This crayon is called 'Make it happen' and is a deep plum red. It's somewhat bright for my tastes and relevant events, but it's a good warm shade of red. I've called it a plum red because there is an undertone of deep berry or magenta, rather than ruby red or orange red. It's pretty much the same colour as the tube. I have tried a number of red lipsticks in this type of shade, trying to find one that doesn't bleed. This one did not bleed and stays put quite well but needs to be touched up after warm food. The sharp end helps to get a crisp line, which is very important on a high maintenance shade of red like this one. The sharpener on the end of the tube will come in handy for that reason. I have another colour where the shade is more of a nude shade, so I probably won't need the sharpener on that one. It's more of a bonus than essential for some shades.
Stickability? It's not as long lasting as the Matte Lip Ink, which is the older cousin product, but it makes up for it in creaminess, range of colours, and the easy application. I will be phasing out my matte lip inks and getting these instead. They are infinitely more useable, and great for lips that aren't so plump anymore, as the thin tube lets you get into all the cracks and crevices!
How to get the stuff off - I used a waterproof makeup remover as that is all I had in the house at the time, but I suspect most removers will be successful. There was a dark pink stain on my lips when I took it off, but it faded quickly.
I have not found this product to dry out my lips so far - I haven't had time to try this shade out over a full day duration, but my other shade can be worn multiple days in row with no ill effect to my skin.
All in all I recommend these and will be buying more.
Tips: If you didn't like Matte Lip Ink, try one of these, you might be pleasantly surprised.
If you're after a quick and easy lip crayon, this one isn't your guy.
I trialed #55 Make It Happen, and while the colour probably wasn't the perfect shade for me (looks like a deep berry from the tube, but is actually a very deep pink!), what such a bright colour taught me was how tricky this product is to achieve a perfect line with.
The crayon has a pointed tip and comes with a sharpener, however I found that the slightly tacky consistency of the product made achieving a neat line difficult, and I was constantly fixing and re-fixing bits of my initial application.
This was made more tricky by the fact that this lippie definitely lives up to the INK bit of its name - this thing will stain your lips like no tomorrow! Unfortunately that also meant that when I was fixing and reapplying to try and get an even and neat application, I did experience staining around my lips even after just a short time.
This product might be easier to use/apply in a different (nude) shade, and while the colour wasn't for me, it was rich and stunning! However after my experience with this one, I wouldn't purchase this again or recommend to a friend, based on how tricky I found it to use.
