I have the shade very Victoria & I love it. The pacakging is so luxurious a rose gold ribbed bullet with CT engraved my very first CT product. The lipstick has the infamous CT & lips on the tip slightly slanted. It's quite a hydrating lipstick though it's matte with a vanill scent to it. The pigmentation is outstanding & longevity it a good 3-4 hours. There is some transfer but when you look in mirror thinking that you've trasferred away Im happily assured I still have a lip colour on and not an unfortunate ombre accident. This nude is great to deepen the tone of my liquid lipsticks so I like to use it like that but also is my colour nude that I can say suits me. I want to buy more but need to move the lipsticks I own first.

I have lusted after these lipsticks for a while, before the matte version came out due to their design and luxury offerings so I bit the bullet when the matte revolution range came out on beautylish and brought 3.
Design, this is best of any lipstick brand ever and I mean it. Wrapped up in a cool to touch thin material of rose gold hue. Ridged for the luxury feel and grip. With the CT on the top of the lid, these take pride and place at the top of my spinning lipstick tower. The barrel inside has the same colouring with the words Charlotte Tilbury etched into it and the lipstick easily comes up and goes back down. The name of the lipstick is labelled on the bottom of the case of which is the same brand colouring of plumy red that Charlotte Tilbury is known for.
Formula of these matte lipsticks is delish. They rethink your understanding of matte, these although they do settle on your lips for a longer lasting effect do not fully dry out to make your lips do the same, and they remain creamy so you can still let your lips touch each other and move the around without that cakey dried up feeling. There is no need to use a lip liner however I do for the purpose of reshaping my lips to look more even, as I have not seen any feathering and bleeding into the surrounding skin from these lipsticks, even the intense dark of purple stayed right where I wanted it. Wearing down happens from the centre of the lips around the 3 hour mark but a quick smack of the lips together to move the lipstick around sees it even out for a good 5-6 hours before fully retouching. It does transfer with certain foods and onto glasses.
It doesn’t stain your lips either, so at the end of the day when you are removing your makeup you don’t need to go to any extremes to remove it. I am so happy with these that I am going to have to purchase more even though they are expensive, the quality outshines nearly 90% of my other lipsticks.
Shades owned:
Glastonberry – a twist on Glastonbury, designed for the punk/goth in us all. It has shades of deep purple with a blackcurrant red/purple stain underneath to it. Walk of Shame – Brick red rusty and very 90’s inspired, I love this as it is mellow but intense all at the same time, the way you make the rest of your face up dictates how this red settles into your look. Very Victoria – apparently based on Victoria Beckham this pout inducing nude is a perfect balance of pink and brown for the pink beige look that as it settles on your lips gets a deeper shade. I use this with lip cheat pillow talk as the shade is a perfect match for those much desired puffy pout look.
After talking to the biggest beauty enabler a.k.a farmer’s wife about lipsticks she told me these were amazing and when she says something is amazing I know it will knock my socks off, so while doing a beautylish order I placed one in my cart.
A week or so later the package arrived, I LOVE shopping with beautylish the way they wrap everything up in brown paper and then topped with cotton string, It feels special and that a lot of care has gone into everything and then to top it off with a personalized note is just the icing on the very sweet cake.. anyhoo I open up the dark plum coloured box to be met by the most gorgeous lipstick bullet I think I have ever laid eyes on, rigid metal in a rose gold hue with the CT logo stamped on the top of the lid makes it look so luxurious I am slightly scared to let my grotty farmers hands near it and feel like I should be wearing white gloves whilst i apply it.
I take off the lid and look at the gorgeous colour, I brought this in the colour Amazing Grace which is a lovely rosy pink colour. Now at this point I start panicking.. This is a Matte, my lips don’t like mattes and I don’t really suit them, all the scary thoughts run through my head but really I needn’t have worried because this is the exception to the rule. As I apply it I don’t notice it drag across my lips, it is so creamy it just glides on. There is no patchiness it applies just like any other lipstick. Even after it has dried a few minutes later it doesn’t make my lips look cakey, cracked or dry it’s almost like they have a bit of a sheen, they even feel soft it doesn’t dry them out or feel like I’m pulling it off every time I press my lips together.
I can wear this for and 4 hours before I need a touch up, it doesn’t bleed or stain my lips when it is wearing off. And can be easily removed.
This has to be my favourite matte and I can’t wait to buy more in this range. It was obviously named revolution for a reason as it is not like any standard matte lipstick and is in a league of its own.
I picked up one of these Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks in London last year when I was in London. I got the shade Amazing Grace. Firstly the packaging is beautiful and it's really something to have in your makeup purse. The tube is a beautiful rose gold and definitely looks and feels like you would expect for such an expensive lippy. The shade I picked is one of my faves and whenever I put a picture on social media of me wearing it and in person I get comments on the shade. I am a bit weary of matte lipsticks as I find them really drying on my lips and my lips often peel after having worn one for a day. While this is a matte lipstick and has the long lasting properties that you expect from them it's actually surprisingly creamy and nice to wear. This is the only matte lipstick I have and can wear that doesn't leave my lips in atrocious condition after wearing it. Even though Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are the most expensive I have ever purchased every cent is justified on them. I will not buy another brands matte lipstick again as I don't believe there is anything better than these out there. If you haven't already guessed I adore this lipstick and can't wait to expand my collection of shades.
I have the shade Walk of Shame (what a name!) it's a gorgeous deep red. I wear it both as a full colour and more of a stain, by blotting it on my lips and smudging with my finger. I have a light olive skin tone and it looks good against my skin. The packaging of this is GORGEOUS but more importantly the formula is great, it's not drying and though it is a matte, it's still very moisturising. I'll be buying more shades for sure!
Absolutely love my CT lippy! I recently bought the shade pillow talk after CT launched at Mecca last month. I've seen so many reviews about the pillow talk shade and how it's very universal. In winter I am quite fair, but then in the summer I get quite olive, so this was right up my alley as I knew I wouldn't need to change 'nude' shades for summer and winter. The shade is absolutely stunning, and even better when paired with the matching lip pencil (and there is even a medium shade which is probably better tbh).
The packaging is so beautiful and so fancy compared to the other lipsticks in my stand. The formula is so beautiful considering this is labelled "matte" - it's nice and creamy and wears beautifully on the lips. I can't wait for the lockdown to be finished so I can show it off to the world when we can be out and about again!
Tips: If buying the matching lipliner, go for the medium shade and the regular pillow talk liner is quite light.
I recently got Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the iconic shade Pillow Talk (along with the matching lip liner).
I had been coveting this for some time and finally made the jump.
It is the creamiest matte lipstick I've ever tried and doesn't dry out my lips like many mattes do. It's also much smoother to apply.
I wanted to try Pillow Talk because it is said to be a flattering shade for every woman.
For me, while I was able to wear it certainly, there are definitely other more flattering lipstick shades I could pick.
But as a very neutral shade, it's an easy gamble to get a shade that will work.
I love this lipstick so much! It is creamy on the lips, pigmented and it doesn’t feel dry on the lips! I also like the packaging because it looks very luxurious! I also love the fact that is long lasting aswell so it is definitely worth your money!
In terms of the formula, this lipstick is one of the best I've tried. While matte, the formula is incredibly comfortable and creamy; it feels quite emollient on the lips. It smooths the lip lines beautifully, providing a soft blurred effect. I also find that it is very easy to apply without lipliner which is great. It has a light vanilla scent that dissipates quickly after application. In terms of shades, I much prefer 'Very Victoria' over the infamous 'Pillow Talk'. While the brand describes 'Pillow Talk' as a nude pink, I find that it pulls as a very warm-toned orangey reddish-brown with no trace of pink. I find that the cooler more neutral leaning tone of 'Very Victoria', a true nude shade, compliments the natural colour of the lips far better.
Tips: Swatch the shades in store to find a colour that best suits you! I personally found that 'Pillow Talk' was not as universally flattering as others have claimed it to be.
Ok so I'll pretend I didn't see the price above! I've been a ostrich in regards to the price. I buy mine off beautylish and as its in USD I just pretend it's NZD. Don't judge!
Anyway the packaging is stunning. Rose gold, heavy canisters that are like pure luxury. There is the CT logo on the lids thats stamped in. The lids stay put. No way of popping off by accident.
The bullets are shaped different to standard ones. They looks very robust.
Now these are matte but not the normal old matte. They are moisturising, they stay on the lips, yet they don't make your lips look dry or need to use a balm to keep moisturised.
The 2 I have in my hand as I type are Red carpet red it's like a bright red more pinky than blood red
Walk of shame a awesome nude brown. It's one of my most favorite shades.
These slide onto the lips ready well. Alot of mattes seem to tug on me as I apply. Not these. It's like silk. I'm not sure what the magic is they use to create these but I love it. Yes ok so I've done a few orders for these, yes I did a order before I got the last one for more of these and yes I'll be buying more at some stage.
Tips: Take the leap of faith and just buy these!
