I didn't have the best experience with this lip product unfortunately. I usually love lip crayon type products and I own alot. They are usually great because generally I find they don't feather out and bleed too much, however this one was pretty disappointing. I wore this 2 days without lip liner and both days the product feathered and bled over my lip line within a couple of hours of application. The one I have is a red type of colour so it was very noticeable! It also wore off really quickly every time I had a coffee/drink or ate anything. I had to reapply numerous times. The 2 days I used lipliner did help with the feathering but still it didn't look great as the day went on and the same issues occurred. This also stained my lips a very red colour I might mention too. One thing I did really like however was how nice it felt on my lips and that the formula is very moisturising. I wouldn't buy one of these in any other shade however as overall this product just didn't work out well for me!

I'm more of a liquid lipstick kinda gal, but I'm always open to trying new lippies especially the bright ones. I got sent "Laugh Louder 40" which is a slightly coral-y, orange red. It's an absolute stand-out, loud kind of colour that I believe would look awesome on all skintones.
The crayon almost has this slight plastic, playdoh kinda smell which isn't the most pleasant, but it's not strong enough to be distracting. It glides on super creamy and soft, although I felt the crayon itself was a bit cumbersome and awkward when applying on the lips, but that's to be expected since it is a crayon.
On application I felt like it wasn't giving enough colour payoff even when I went over my lips twice or thrice, especially on the centre of my lips it looked slightly patchy.
I left it on while showering and by the time I came out, the product was gone around the centre of my mouth with only the dreaded outline left on my lips - mind you, this was also without me scrubbing or touching my lips in any way. The same outcome happened after I had watched a movie and had eaten popcorn and drank frozen coke. In all honesty though, I was already expecting this result so I wasn't especially disappointed nor surprised.
What I really liked about it was that once it dries down - I'd say give it 30 seconds to a minute - it's totally transferproof. I pecked the back of my hand to test it out, kissed my mirror, and when drinking from my cup it didn't have any residue on it which is fantastic. However, if you purposely try to rub it off, it will actually stain your fingertip. I also really liked that it comes with its own sharpener embedded into the package itself so you can always have it on the go.
Overall, I sadly wouldn't buy it if ever given the option. It's your typical crayon/matte balm that is easily gone after any eating or drinking, but I do commend how it is transfer (kiss?) proof.
I got this in the last beauty vault. Thanks BR! I got the shade 40 Laugh Louder which is an orangey/red colour. Definitely not something I would pick out for myself.
I have quite pale skin and it really did not suit my complexion very well. I liked how there was a hidden sharpener on the end! The colour is so pigmented, it is super smooth to apply and glides on with ease. I have to prep my lips very well with this as it makes them feel very dry.
It takes a wee while to dry down completely. It definitely does not last for 8 hours, after 2 hours it started looking really patchy on me and sinking into my lip lines. When it wore away my lips had a stain on them, I had to scrub so hard to get it off!
Overall this is not a lippie that I liked and I will give it to someone that likes the colour.
This ink crayon, is definitely an INK crayon. Unfortunately I had the wrong colour choice for me which was a deep red and definitely not suited to me but we gave it a go anyways. I definitely noted that you had to be quite steady with your hand to achieve perfect lips, which is quite common with any red and definitely applies to the title of CRAYON and drawing on the lip. The formula feels so nice and smooth on application and the pigmentation in this product is unreal and without proper priming or powdering, stains your skin and lips! Going forward I have used this product to smudge in the middle of my lips and mix with a more flattering colour for me or even use with a gloss to achieve a slight Korean lip effect. I would love to try another colour in this as I believe its an awesome product!
I loved the brilliant little sharpener encased in the top of this product, this would make for easy 'on the go' sharpening and reapplication when you needed a nice sharp line on your lips. This product has a pleasant vanilla fragrance which is nice. I trialed #55 Make It Happen - the colour of the crayon in the applicator definitely does NOT match the colour it comes out on your lips. The crayon is a dark berry/burgundy colour in the applicator, however on my lips it was a really bright and garish dark pink, it looked awful! In the interest of fairly trialing this product, I waited to wear it to test the longevity until the weekend when I knew I wasn't going to be going out in public. My husband squinted at me and shook his head more than once, amused at my scientific research ;) Initially the crayon goes on with a tackiness that dries out after a couple of minutes. I noticed the first time I drank anything that it transferred onto the glass. After about 2hrs I noticed that what was left on my lips was patchy and didn't look good at all. I also noticed my lips were feeling quite dry. I reapplied the product (much to my husband's amusement) and found again the transfer onto glasses/cups and with eating as well, left the product patchy and my lips still feeling very dry. I wiped off what was left of the product with a makeup wipe, which removed the surface colour, however my lips were stained a very bright and unflattering pink. I don't think this product can claim to last 8hrs unless you also used a super-stay type gloss or balm over top to help with the staying power. Not my most favourite product and I would be reluctant to purchase it.
Tips: Make sure you can try a tester product on the back of your hand or inside of your wrist to determine the actual colour, don't go by the colour of the crayon itself.
I received the shade 55, make it happen which reminds me of red wine colour when initially applied but overtime fades to a bright pink colour. Buyer beware this lip crayon does stain!
I really like the design. The built in sharper is something I haven't seen done so well before. It detaches easily from the base and is convenient. It's such a clever feature that doesn't add any extra weight to the product but adds to the product appeal. The lip crayon is easy to twist up and down and the sharp end means it is theoretically a lip pencil and lipstick in one.
For a gal who mainly wears lipgloss this wasn't the easiest transition. It was time consuming to apply, it wasn't a quick swipe on like a lipgloss. I began by outlining my lips with the pointed end and then using the sides to fill in. This took me a good few minutes and several attempts to achieve a semi descent look. It dries to a matte finish but the texture is not too dry that it really enhances liplines. I found it transfers easily when eating or drinking so reapplication is necessary.
Overall I still prefer lipglosses or satin finish lipsticks. I wasn't happy with the staining left on my lips when the product was removed. I therefore wouldn't repurchase this for myself but it was nice to try.
Tips: Swatch in-store as the tube colour doesn't turely represent the actual colour.
Unfortunately this was the totally wrong colour for my complexion (an orange base) but I used it a couple of times at home and was pleasantly surprised. It goes on nice and smoothly and does last, but not as long as it says. Anything that lasts longer than half an hour is a bonus, this lasted a couple of hours.
There was no packaging on this, just the Ink Crayon but the shape and colour make it stand out.
If I can find the right colour for me then I will buy.
I love to try a new shade of lipstick and see if I can pull it off, Make it happen #55 started off as vibrant bright red. I love how precise it was to apply and the fact that it was matte so it was gonna stay where I put it. I drink a lot of coffee, slowly the colour was being left on my cup and sadly the beautiful bright red was turning to a patchy tacky pink. I was impressed that it didn’t bleed inti my lip wrinkles, but instead it just looked smudgy and all this was over the period of around three hours. So while it didn’t deliver on 8 hrs I did enjoy the first application and the handy sharpener - although it does get a bit messy- I think it would work wonderful with the more subtle colours as you would get the stark contrast. I love the fact that it was easy to apply and fits nicely in a small bag or even a pocket.
Tips: clean out the sharpener straight away - I didn’t and got smudges in my hand bag!
They have a super creamy texture, which makes them easy to apply. It is quite long-lasting and, honestly, for the price, a great option. Also love the colour range so many gorg colours.
If you're after a quick and easy lip crayon, this one isn't your guy.
I trialed #55 Make It Happen, and while the colour probably wasn't the perfect shade for me (looks like a deep berry from the tube, but is actually a very deep pink!), what such a bright colour taught me was how tricky this product is to achieve a perfect line with.
The crayon has a pointed tip and comes with a sharpener, however I found that the slightly tacky consistency of the product made achieving a neat line difficult, and I was constantly fixing and re-fixing bits of my initial application.
This was made more tricky by the fact that this lippie definitely lives up to the INK bit of its name - this thing will stain your lips like no tomorrow! Unfortunately that also meant that when I was fixing and reapplying to try and get an even and neat application, I did experience staining around my lips even after just a short time.
This product might be easier to use/apply in a different (nude) shade, and while the colour wasn't for me, it was rich and stunning! However after my experience with this one, I wouldn't purchase this again or recommend to a friend, based on how tricky I found it to use.
