I was so keen to try these products as I usually love anything coconut after living in the Islands for five years. I was initiall disappointed with the shampoo as the smell was so overpowering and nothing at all like coconut. It was more like an apple shampoo from my teenage memories. I was pleasantly surprised that the conditioner was more to my expectation of a coconut milk smell and definitely not overpowering, and quite calming in comparison. I have been using a micellar product recently on my hair and have been happy with the results. I felt the herbal essence product left my hair feeling a bit flat and lifeless inbetween washes and lacked its usual bounce. I overcame this with the use of hair clay, but I'd rather not use these sort of products on a regular basis. I generally am a wash and wear girl but felt a little let down by this product. As far as the packaging is concerned it was just run of the mill. I would like to see more companies offering refill packs in biodegradable packs and less plastics. I also prefer the pump action dispensers as I feel there is less wastage of product, especially in families with young children who are also using the product. Don't think I will change from the product I am using now, but to be fair, due to the late delivery of this trial product, a longer trial period may have resulted in a more favourable review but at this stage I'm not convinced.

Tips: Perhaps a trial over a longer period may have a differing result, but I'm not sure. Will be sticking with my Micellar shampoo for now.
I was really excited to be a part of this trial, thanks BR! I love Herbal Essence products so I had high hopes for these. I love the packaging, it is appealing to me and would draw me in if I saw them on a shelf, they both have flip top lids which makes it easy to dispense the product.
Scent wise I do not like it, the description says experience the multi-layered scents of vibrant coconut, a bouquet of white florals and vanilla. Well they have no coconut smell at all and all I get is a sweet sickly scent....ugh.
The shampoo is thicker than normal and lathers well, it cleans my hair great but I get so much colour wash out with this so I definitely don't love it much.
The conditioner is lovely and thick, it leaves my hair feeling hydrated and super shiny with significantly less frizz. I quite like it and it makes my hair feel nice.
But since I disliked the shampoo and only really like using matching sets I would not purchase either of these for myself. The scent was also a huge letdown for me as I love having nice smelling hair.
I love anything that has a coconut scent. If it says coconut, I'm already dreaming of a tropical holiday. This duo however, wasn't as strongly scented as I had hoped. It's very lightly scented, so even if you aren't a fan of coconut, it's still worth a try. The shampoo itself isn't anything special, it has an amazing lather though, so perfect if you are really looking to give your hair a thorough cleanse. I found using 3/4 of the amount I'd usually use to be perfect. It did feel a little drying (think squeaky clean) but following up with the conditioner combated that. The conditioner is really lightweight, went on easily and rinsed out nicely. It wasn't too heavy and left my hair feeling just right. I'm not sold on the 2 separately, but as a combo they're great for everyday use.
Essences Coconut Milk Moisturising Regime is a complementary duo. From the matching bottles to the aromatic scent.
I have always wondered why conditioner bottles are often upside down next to their upright shampoo companions. Herbal Essences Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner are both upright, which I personally prefer. However, because they are identical, I can see how one could reach for the wrong bottle; particularly in steamy, watery and shampoo coated conditions.
The other key takeaway from this regime for me was the scent. I am always a little skeptical about the product goodness when it smells like a perfume shop, but the scent was a really nice fragrance.
In terms of moisturizing, I can't say in the couple of washes I did that I noticed anything, but if I do notice any change following this trial I will add that to the review.
The shampoo and conditioner work well together, leaving hair soft, tangle-free, shiny and smelling delicious. The silicones in both products mean that I won't purchase again, as my hair doesn't like them, but that would be my only barrier
I have two daughters with long hair, so our household uses a lot of shampoo and conditioner. I'm always looking for good budget options that everyone likes, and these products were a big hit in our family. They're both rich and creamy, with a pleasant subtle smell, and left our hair clean and soft. Both bottles made the claim ".., helps purify and protect againts what your hair gets used to over time" I have no idea what that means, and it's irritating that a brand thinks that a consumer would believe such a vague pseudo-scientific claim.
I enjoyed using these products , they were easy to use , complimented each other , washed out of my hair easily , leaving it with a pleasant fragrance . Nice sized containers and good even for older age people to hold and operate. I felt it did leave my hair more hydrated and easy to comb and style, so I will be keen to continue using both products
Tips: Products spread easily and seem to go a long way and as it flows freely from the containers I found I had to watch and not use too much , as I have short hair
Over the past week I have been using the Herbal Essences Coconut Milk Moisturising Regime and I have really enjoyed the experience.
I am a daily hair washer and have felt no ill effects using this shampoo and conditioner and washing daily.
The shampoo lathers just right and doesn't leave your hair feeling rough and dry when you rinse it out.
The conditioner leaves your hair feeling silky and smooth.
The regime left my hair feeling lovely, more hydrated and maybe slightly more weighted or flat than my usual regime, however I think this would be a real bonus if you are one to leave your hair air dried as it would 100% help with the frizzies. I however straighten my hair after each wash and dry.
The scent is strong and heady with coconut and the warmth of vanilla. The scent is absolutely gorgeous and lasts in your hair until the next wash, something I dont normally experience with my usual shampoo and conditioner.
I love the packaging art and the bottle size and shape. All spot on.
I will continue to use this regime going forward.
I found the bottles to be a bit dark looking but that is minor. The smell of coconut is there as soon as you click open the easy open lids, but I didn't find the smell to be too overpowering. Loved that I didn't need a lot of shampoo (only about a ten cent piece worth) for it to lather up nicely. Rinsed out well and hair felt clean. Only needed about a twenty cent piece blob of conditioner which spread nicely thru my hair, combed thru, waited a few minutes then rinsed out well. Hair has felt lovely and soft and I normally wash my hair every 2nd day and find my hair is a tad lank on the day i don't wash but after using this coconut milk duo my hair looks soft and shiny on the day I don't wash it. Overall I am impressed with these two products and love that there are 0% colourants in them.
Tips: Less is best.
I’ve been using shampoo and conditioner bars for a couple of years now so I was interested to see if these products I was sent to trial would sway me back to the bottle. And the smell of these is almost enough alone to lure me back! These smell amazing and remind me of an old school sun tan lotion. The smell transports me back to a holiday in Samoa, showering under the stars at night and rinsing off a day at the beach. Absolute bliss! The brown packaging feels old school as well but in a more old fashioned way. But the flip top lid and the softer plastic make the products easy to squeeze out.
The products themselves left my hair squeaky clean and well conditioned. I also found the shampoo quite volumnising, leaving me with big hair but it was less frizzy than usual. Unfortunately the squeaky clean feeling comes from the SLS And SLES in it. These are degreasers which can irritate some, including me. My scalp did feel a bit itchy until my hair was dry but was ok after that. I’m quite surprised these ingredients are still in the shampoo as it seems to be marketed as having no other ‘nasties’ in it like parabens and gluten (not that I was planning on eating it! Lol)
For this reason I won’t be purchasing these products but will continue to use as I love the smell. Hopefully I can alternate the shampoo with my usual one to make it less irritating. I still also prefer my shampoo and conditioner bars as there’s no bulky bottles cluttering my bathroom or the planet. I’ll still probably be picking up the bottles each day just to get a whiff of that amazing tropical smell though!
