This is a thing of beauty, I so wish the pans were larger. Buttery soft, pigmented, no fallout. Divine.
After much debate, this one was of the first high end palettes i purchased, and this was only purchased this year, so it is not something i have owned for a long long time.
It comes in a slim, slender black matte palette. From the outside, this palette does not look like anything special, but looks can be deceiving, and that is the case with this palette.
Inside, this palette is basically perfection. It is made up of half matte shadows, and half shimmer shadows with 8 shadows of each. I think this is a perfect combo and makes it suitable for everyone because it offers a bit of both.
The colours are stunning. I pretty much love every single colour, but there are some definite favourites, which already have dents in them! Such as the browns which are perfect for natural looks, and transition shades. Plus the colour Pewter is a beautiful taupe with a purple undertone and it is gorgeous! I try to sneak it into my daily makeup routine, even though it creates more of a dramatic eye.
The colours are pigmented, smooth, buttery and so blend-able. However, i am pretty rough with my eyeshadows, and i find these eyeshadows are so soft, they can really kick up a mess and leave eyeshadow waste everywhere.
Still, I think this eyeshadow palette is incredible, and if you are just starting to get into eye shadow, i think this palette would be a great investment for you because it has a great colour selection, with the perfect combination of finishes.
Tips: Buy it. Right now, go and buy it! Or at least add it onto your wishlist
This was the first eyeshadow palette I purchased myself (since then I have bought many more) But this is a very nice palette. There is a good selection of colours, although I would like it more if it came with a mid tone warm brown, and I like that there are 8 matte and 8 shimmer shades as this makes it perfect to create a number of versatile looks. This is fairly easy to blend, but if you accidentally apply too much eyeshadow at once it can become more difficult to blend and sometimes will not completely blend out, but this doesn't really happen that much and if the eye has been set first with a powder (I use the cream shade from this palette or the Rimmel Wake Me Up in transparent) I don't really have any issues. This is a very high quality palette, and perfect to start with if you don't have many eyeshadows.
Definitelya worthwhile investment. The combination of shimmer and matte colours/ texture allows the creation of just about any look for any occassion. The palette contains a great range of colours!
If you're new to makeup this is an awesome first palette to try. None of the colours are too extreme; they will suit a lot of people I think, and the quality of the shadows are high and very easy to work with. he colours are very pigmented and just one tap of a brush then onto the lid gives good colour pay-off.
I am cool-toned and pale, and these colours work well for me for the most part. However, I find that the colour CREAM does not show up very well on my pale skin, and I reach for WHITE more as a highlight / brow-bone shade.
TAUPE and SABLE are both nice crease colours, and I reach for Espresso a lot to darken the outer-V of my lid (it looks really nice paired with GOLD).
I don't reach for BLACK or SLATE often as ESPRESSO is dark enough for me.
I am really disappointed with the colour DEEP PURPLE. It looks nice in the pan but on my skin it is very dark, almost muddy, and doesn't appear purple at all.
GARNET is another one that I was excited to use but doesn't look that great on.
I would have preferred a shimmery brown shade rather than PEWTER as I don't find much use for it.
I reach for NUDE, CHAMPAGNE and LT. BRONZE a lot.
GOLD is my favourite! It is so pigmented and vibrant.
I found that ever since buying the Lorac Unzipped palette that I reach for that far more often than the Lorac Pro. I personally love every single colour in the Unzipped and they all can work well together.
Tips: Use a fluffy blender brush, dip it in TAUPE, and blend in windscreen wiper motions in your crease.
On a flat brush, apply LT. BRONZE to the inner third of your lid, up to the crease.
Apply GOLD on the outer third.
Dip the tip of the blender brush into ESPRESSO and apply it to your outer-V of your lid and blend into the crease slightly.
Using an angled liner brush, apply SABLE as eyeliner on your lower lash line then blend slightly with the blender brush.
Apply WHITE on your brow bone and inner corner of your eye to highlight.
When I first got this palette and swatched everything (within in seconds of tearing through the bubblewrap lol) I was a little disappointed. Every shade just seemed so warm on my skin tone....so off to the dark drawer of palette doom it went. A week or so later one of my girlfriends asked me if she could see it as she couldn't decide between the PRO and PRO 2 so I busted it out again and for some reason (maybe because two of us were looking at it?) it didn't seem so blah. Cut to today and it has slowly but surely worked its way into my bathroom and replaced my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette as part of my go-to daily eye makeup routine. It took me a while to "warm up" to it, but it really is a fantastic workhorse of a palette!
Pros - great amount of mattes and shimmers, unlike some other neutral palettes where you only get two or three mattes, this has eight! - speaking of mattes, they’re soft, buttery and a dream to blend - versatility - not only do I use these as eyeshadows but also as brow powder and liner (with a damp MAC 263 brush) which cuts down how many products I need to take with me when I travel - sturdy, no-nonsense packaging, which is slim and travels well
Cons - if I don’t use a primer (mine came with a small tube of LORAC’s eyelid primer) my oily lids WILL them within 2 hours (tops!), however this happens with all powder shadows for me lol - I do wish there was one neutral or cooler toned brown matte, just to make life easier - the shade Champagne is a glitter bomb and I always forget and end up with glitter all over my face >.> - the shade Deep Purple is mostly black; the black base completely overwhelms the purple shimmer which is a shame - all these shades are dupable/you may already have these shades in other palettes
Tips: - I got mine on Amazon for $42USD and it shipped/arrived in under a fortnight for about $8USD
Perfect palette for a beginning as there is a great variety, they're easy to blend and nice and neutral with a pop of different colours. Personally, I prefer Naked Palettes as there's less fall out and more in the pan. However, the mattes are perfect and the gold and garnet and stunning. This palette includes shades for eyebrows, inner corner and eyeliner. Highly recommend, they are extremely pigmented.
Tips: If you have cooler skin tones and prefer cooler eyeshadows I would recommend checking out the second edition of the palette.
After reading so much hype about it, I folded like a cheap pocket knife and decided to get this palette. Firstly, I have to say it was a MISSION to get it: The first purchase of Beauty.com - had me place an order and it got cancelled after a week (don't remember the details as to why!). So then I decided to order it off Fishpond. I waited 6 weeks, no arrival. I contacted Fishpond. They said I hadn't bought it from a verified seller so my order got cancelled and I got a refund. I nearly gave up, but finally got some success again with a seller Fishpond recommended (verified seller this time). Big picture: I'm really disappointed. Not with the quality - that's top notch (lovely buttery and extremely soft eyeshadows) but I think the colours are seriously below par. It needs to be said that I own a LOT of eyeshadow palettes and Mac eyeshadows so I'm probably a tough person to Wow. But on balance I really dislike nearly all of the frost colours, I think the shades are awful and none of them suit me. Garnet - is similar to Antiqued by MAC, but Antiqued is a much nicer colour (brighter, more intense, the shade works better on my cool toned skin). The colour Deep Purple is really dark and barely purple at all on the skin. As for the pale shades: They are nothing special. The winners of the palette are all the mattes, all are great and are now all I use. All in all, I really regret buying this, I certainly won't be getting the new Pro Palette that just got released. This isn't a terrible palette, I just think it's really boring too be honest! I much prefer any of my Naked Palettes over this, no competition (I have all three Nakeds!)
Tips: Get a Naked palette instead...
Awesome, easy and cute product. I definitely will be spreading the word about this pallet, the colours are beautiful, it goes on prefect and super easy
