I have loved most of Lush's fresh facial cleansers so I wanted to try their cream cleanser. At under $12 for almost 95g it was a good affordable option. The main ingredients in this are water, almond oil, stearic acid, fresh dove orchid extract, everlasting flower absolute and ylang ylang oil. So not a super long list and mostly natural ingredients. The texture of this is really light, like a lotion and it has hardly any scent. I wet my face when before I spread this on my face but I almost don't want to since I'm used to cleansers with a more creamy, richer textures. Because of the texture and the simplicity of the formula I prefer to use this in the morning when my skin doesn't need much cleansing but maybe is a bit oily in parts. I have tried using it to remove makeup just to test it out and it doesn't do a bad job but I personally prefer to use miscellar water on a cotton pad since this requires a bit more rubbing. I think this is a good budget friendly cleanser for those who have sensitive skin and want something natural. I will not be getting this again because I prefer my cream cleansers well more creamy and rich.

Lush 9-5 Cleanser Review
Lush 9-5 Cleanser Review
Creamy dove orchid cleanser
Like Dolly says, 9 to 5 is quite the way to make a living. It can take its toll on the skin and leave you looking worn out. Our inventors created this one a long time ago and named it 'Orchid Oil Cleanser.' Our customers had been crying out for a liquid cleanser, so we decided to bring (the newly renamed) 9 to 5 to the LUSH shelves. This gentle cleanser is made with almond oil, dove orchids and everlasting flower absolute to remove your leftover make up, dirt and grime at the end of a long work day.

Tips: Good for sensitive skin. Makes a good cleanser for washing your face in the morning.
After receiving a free sample of this I decided to buy a small bottle so I could give it a good try. It smells great, very subtle but appealing.
The consistency is quite runny. I don't really like runny cleansers. I found I have to double cleanse to remove any makeup and sometimes felt like I needed a third time as I could still see traces on my skin.
For me it is far too light and runny. I have sensitive skin and it did not sting or burn at all so that was great. While it did leave my skin feeling nice it just wasn't heavy duty enough for me so I would not purchase it again.
It would be great for someone that doesn't wear makeup and looking for a gentle cleanser.
I received a huge sample of this with an online order. I am hopelessly devoted to Lush's Ultrabland cleanser but I gave this a go when my beloved had run out and I couldn't get to my local store.
Upon opening I was instantly transported back to Cosmetic to Go (Lush's founding company) days. It is delicately scented with dove orchid oil, the same as the cleanser I used to use from CTG. It is a lightweight, milky white liquid. It is easy to apply to your face and a few gentle rubs will remove makeup. I then remove it with a hot flannel as that is my preferred method for cleansing. I didn't find it as effective at removing waterproof mascara as Ultrabland so it needed a bit of help and rubbing to get that off. My skin felt clean and refreshed after use.
Overall, this will not be replacing Ultrabland for me. It is perfect if you are wanting a lighter cleanser though.
This is quite a nice cleanser for everyday use, I would say it is quite gentle on the skin but be careful to avoid getting it in your eyes as it does sting. Doesn't really have much of a scent so it would probably suit most skin types. Personally I received my bottle as a gift however I don't think I would repurchase it as it is a bit too expensive for me to use as an everyday cleanser.
This is a decent cleanser which cleans your face nicely while being gentle at the same time. It doesn't strip the natural oils off your face and leaves it feeling soft and supple afterwards. I have sensitive skin and find that this cleanser doesn't cause any reactions to my skin.
While this cleanser removes dirt and excess oil well I don't think it can remove makeup. I always remove my makeup first before cleansing in the shower. The consistency of this cleanser is quite runny. It has a creamy texture but doesn't foam up when you use it.
This is a good all round cleanser that I think would be suitable for all skin types. The downside is that it's quite pricey, $11 for a small bottle which only lasts about a month or so (if using twice a day). But I guess you're paying for the fact that the product is organic and cruelty free.
Overall, this is a great product, and I would use it again, however I think I will try and find a cheaper alternative.
I purchase this from Lush as my normal face cleanser wasn't in stock. I am glad I found this as I now use this as part of my morning skin care routine. It's super quick and easy to use. I also like how it moisturizes the skin. The bottle also seems to last for a long time - so good value for money.
This is a really basic gentle cleanser good for people with relatively clear skin, smells nice and fresh. Goos for oily/combination skin.
Tips: works wonders on a spin brush
I am a Lush makeup remover addict. Their makeup removers are more effective and gentle than any other brand I've tried. For years Ultrabland has been my go-to makeup remover, flawless except for the fact that it does use up quite a few cotton wipes in one go. I decided to try out 9-5 to see how it compared.
It comes in a bottle instead of a black pot, which makes sense since because of its liquid consistency. I do enjoy the black Lush pots more though, since saving them up to exchange for a face mask is so satisfying!
9-5 smells lovely and delicate, with a calming and vaguely floral, vanilla-y scent. I use this product by dispersing some onto my fingertips, working it into my skin, then wiping off using damp, warm makeup cotton wipes. It is very gentle and soothing on the skin, and works really well as a regular cleanser too. All my makeup comes off completely, apart from slight black smudges left behind if I've used liquid liner that day. For this reason I found it slightly less effective than Ultrabland.
Overall I really like this product. If Lush's Celestial moisturiser had a cleanser twin sister, then 9-5 would be her. If you wear light makeup every day then I'd definitely recommend this product — if you're a heavy eyeliner and dark lips kinda gal then Ultrabland might be better for you.
This product is full of goodness and works well on my sensitive skin. A white coloured, creamy lotion, it comes in a small bottle. I massage it into my face and neck and then use a warm, wet cloth and wipe. It removes my makeup really well, however when i wear makeup i ALWAYS double cleanse. Softly scented, it smells really nice. My evening routine is a bit of a ritual for me and this gorgeous cleanser is a fantastic cleanser to be using for this.
Tips: Shake product before dispensing.
I got a generous sample of this from a friend and after one use decided I need to get the bigger pot to get the true effects from it. I got the 95g pot for $11.50 which I thought was pretty good value.
It comes in the familiar black pottle with the tell tale writing that Lush is known for. It has a screw top which helps keep it fresh and also from spilling through my makeup draw. The smell is delightful enough giving off a slight scent of floral tones which I would assume is the orchid. It is white and creamy but quite thin for my liking.
I love the fact that it said it could remove makeup and any dirt on my face. I needed a gentle cleanser to remove the day off my face without being too abrasive or harsh. I smooth it on to a moistened face and rub it in circular motions to work it in to my skin. I make sure I get all areas of my face, and neck. I then rinse with warm water to remove the cleanser and upon inspection of its effectiveness I notice my makeup is still slightly in place! This is disappointing! I was hoping for the majority to be gone with the exception of my waterproof mascara which I knew would need a couple of makeup wipes.
I repeated the cleanse to still have some eye makeup left behind. Despite the eye makeup being left, I did notice that my skin had a fresh clean feeling to it. It looked and felt clearer but it didn't wow me like I expected. I continued until the pot was gone and wasn't overly excited by it if I am honest.
After two weeks my skin became quite dull and had lost its glow. I used the remainder so there was no waste but my thoughts didn't change. I think I prefer a foaming cleanser or oil cleanser after this!
Tips: Use a good toner and moisturiser afterwards
