I brought this product because I have rosacea. I have been using this product for about a week now. The scent I can smell quite strongly is lavender. The texture is like playdough. You need to form a paste with water to be able to spread the product onto your face. I love how soft my skin feels afterwards but that's all it really did. It hasn't improved the redness of my face nor made any real change in the appearance of my skin. I probably won't buy again.

Lush Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser
Balancing lavender cleanser
For heavenly soft and perfectly balanced skin, take a bit of Angels on Bare Skin, mix with a little water and massage all over your face and body. The kaolin clay base deep-cleanses while finely ground almonds and lavender flowers gently exfoliate away dry skin. We add lavender oil to soothe and balance, and rose absolute to calm redness. If it’s smooth, radiant skin you’re after, this is the cleanser for you!

Tips: Put a little bit of water in your hand and mix the cleanser to form a paste. It can get quite messy.
The Lush assistant recommended this cleanser to me when I asked what would be best for a regular cleanser for my dryish combination skin (most cleansers dry it out really badly). She was kind enough to give me a generous sample of it, along with a couple of others, which lasted me for about three weeks, so I really got to test it out, which was great!
Overall, I think this is a really nice cleanser to use every day/every other day if you have normal/combination skin. It is slightly exfoliating, smells amazing (like lavender!), rinses away nicely and overall leaves your skin feeling very smooth. Because of the lovely scent, it's almost a bit of a therapeutic experience using it - and that's always a pleasant way to start off the day!
The reason that I decided not to purchase after I finished the sample, was because I still found that it left my skin feeling a little tight and dry, as most cleansers do. Definitely not as bad as many I've tried, but still a bit. I think that most people probably aren't as sensitive when it comes to cleansers being drying, so I still think that this is a really lovely product, but it is something to consider before buying if you too have this problem.
And finally: price-wise, I think this is actually not too expensive, given that a little goes a long way. My sample pot literally lasted me about three weeks, which was heaps of time to test it out, and if I'd ended up buying the full-size it probably would have lasted me for months. That being said, I know Lush products do expire relatively quickly (being mostly natural), but I still think it would be worth it.
Tips: If you're not sure about whether this will work for you or not, ask for a sample to try out at home - at my Lush, the assistants have always been really helpful in this regard! In fact, it was through trying a Lush sample that I found my HG makeup cleanser, Ultrabland, so it's definitely worth asking!
I bought this about a month ago after wandering in to Lush and asking them if they had a good scrub for me. It wasn't till I got home and read the label that I found it was actually a cleanser.
I'm impressed with how this product works with my skin. The almond is a nice gentle scrub and the fragrance is lovely and fresh.
I don't use it everyday as a cleanser, instead I use it as a scrub every 3-4 days as I don't want to overwork my skin.
This leaves my skin velvety smooth and although I like the product, I'm not going to lie, I find the application a little bit of a pain. Perhaps I'm a little lazy and just want to slap something on, but getting the right consistency takes a little while otherwise it's either too dry or too wet - first world problem though.
Overall I would recommend this product as the results are great. However, I would still say it's more of a scrub than a cleanser and I would let people know about application.
I love the history of this product and I love how Lush has brought some cultural history into the beauty market by giving us this product we never knew existed. Formulated in the medieval times, people were believed to be witches if they created this magic pot - That's what drew me into buying this, It wasn't disappointing it accomplished what it set out to do. It made my face brighter, cleared scarring (although I hardly noticed, mum said it did) and gave my skin a even texture. I love how unique the products are compared to other out there in the market when it comes to applying the paste to your face, it's messy. But at the same time, it does wonders to your face and body. I hardly ever got a breakout when I was on this.
I love how far this product goes because you need to mix it with water. It also gave me more control as to how thick or thin a consistency I wanted. Angels on Bare skin smells like fresh, earthy lavender and feels a little grainy. I found this product gentle on my skin. It calms redness as advertised. My only qualm with Angels on Bare skin is that it feels like it leaves a clay like layer on your skin after washing with it.
This cleanser is perfect for those with irritated, acne prone skin. After using thsi cleaner my skin felt deeply cleansed but un-irritated by any of the ingredients. The lavender oils sooth any irritation and redness. This is also the perfect amount of 'grainy', not too harsh but provides good exfoliation for daily use.
It definitely calmed down my sensitive skin and reduced my breakouts. The lavender is so calming the aromatherapy aspect certainly helped calm me down before a hard day or after a stressful day. But it did leave a slightly oily feel on my skin, it does contain oils and did make my skin feel moisturised but I prefer my skin to oil free, so I can tone and then add moisture, so it wasn't my thing.
Tips: I used it a mask for a while.
I used Angels on Bare Skin about 9 months ago and it was nice and smelt good, texture wise a bit strange but it did the job. It wasn't for me, as I was looking for something that was a little less delicate and did a better job at cleaning, but this was fine for the time being.
I tried this at a stage where I was having some pretty bad break outs. While it helped clear up my ance a bit, I found it dried my skin out quite a bit. It was great for body scrub however.
I love lush products but to be honest, I find this a bit fidgety and annoying to use. You have to mix it into a paste and then use it which doesn't work that well for me. I thought the almonds would exfoliate my face but I find them a bit painful if I rub on my face so I pick them out before I mix it. It does leave my face smooth and fresh feeling however which I really like
