Avoid disasters with the power of blueberries!

Fresh blueberries are rich in beneficial antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to reduce inflammation and act as a mild antiseptic.

Soothing chamomile, Irish moss and almond oil work with the gentle cleansing action of calamine to save your skin.

Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area.

Leave for five to ten minutes, then rinse away with warm water. Keep chilled.

I want to eat it

This face mask is probably one of the best things i have smelt from lush. I tried this because of the blueberries having antioxidants in it. The chamomile is meant to soothe the skin but i found after i used it that was face was all red and the next couple days later i got pimples which i never get. I think this product wasn't right for me

not the one for me

youre only meant to store it for 2 weeks after opening (in the fridge) and thats just not practical for me. i dont really have the time to be having 3 face masks week. it smelt delicious but didn't give me any amazing results. and for that price i would have expected my skin to be clear.

Tips: share it with other people in your household. or use it at girls nights and slumber parties.

Smelt LUSH.....that's about it!

I absolutely love the smell of the Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask, almost edible smelling. I am obsessed with any jar or bottle that it small and re-useable so this fit right in that category and ticked that box for me.

I love that you get a sticker and the name of the person who made it for you on the jar it's so personal and caring without you even knowing them. I think small touches like that keep people coming back for the great customer service and care taken to make and sell the item.

I adore the feeling of putting something cold and fresh on my face it was both refreshing and smelled divine. I don't like that you have to use it within two weeks though. I understand the freshness of it needing to be maintained and to be used to ensure that but that would mean I would need to use three-four masks in that time and I tend to only do one a week.

It was really easy to remove with warm water and a flannel which was good. I find that some masks are difficult to remove with just a flannel and water and needs rubbing to remove leaving my skin red. I like that about this product.

I was hoping to feel some sort of softness or at least a good feeling for my skin but I never really got that which was highly disappointing. The $18.90 plus postage seems like a waste of money to me to have a nice smelling food mask that doesn't do anything other than leave my skin smelling amazing so would I buy it again? No, probably not!

Tips: Do at least two masks a week to use it within the two week fresh mark it recommends

Breakout central!

For reference I have sensitive skin and use Dr Haushcka/Olay products. I have used Lush's sacred truth mask before with no problems but decided to try something new. Big mistake! The two times I have used this (2 weeks apart) I have had a huge breakout on my chin! Although my skin is sensitive products don't usually make me break out but this does :( I will give it another go but something in this isn't agreeing with me unfortunately.

It's comedogenic

This mask has comedogenic ingredients, so while it's quite soothing and cooling, it also means I ended up with quite large, sore pimples.

Not effective or practical

When my skin was quite prone to regular breakouts, I tried this mask. It didn't do anything for my skin. It didn't soothe or reduce my breakouts. I also feel it wasn't a good use of money, as it needs to be used up within days. Usually, I would do a face mask once a week so getting through a pot of this in time is a challenge. I'd rather spend my money on a face mask that I can use up at my own pace.

Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask

I love Lush as a company. I love how most of their ingredients are natural and how they are against animal testing. I have already tried their love lettuce fresh face mask and loved it. The lady in the store recommended this one to me as it helps people with dry skin, helps with the appearance of pimples and redness. I found that this mask didn't do that for me. My skin felt quite dry afterwards and needed some moisturizer on it. My pimples and redness showed more after I started using this product. The smell is amazing. My skin felt softer after using this mask but it still felt like I needed to put moisturizer on. You get a lot of product in the container and I find it quite hard to use all the product before the use by date. I wouldn't buy this product again. It just wasn't for me.

Tips: Do a spa night with some friends to help you use all the product before the use by date

It certainly was a catastrophe!

As we all know, not every product suits your skin, and you will find it reacts differently, but both my flatmate and I tried this mask with similar results. Our main concern was how the mask sort of seeped into our pores and resulted in us breaking out in the later days. Unfortunately it also dried out my skin so much I had to slather my face in moisturiser soon afterwards as I was feeling so uncomfortable. A positive side to this mask was the smell, it was very pleasant, but that wasn't enough to alter whether I'd re-purchase this product.

Tips: Ensure you wash it off our face REALLY well to ensure there are no traces of it lurking and drying out or sticking in your pores.

Also, consult the LUSH assistants about whether this mask will suit your skin type and (if they still do it - I think they do for $5??) ask for them to test it on your skin.
