I've been told time and time again this mask "smells of wet dog" but "it's seriously amazing if you can tolerate the smell" but honestly, to me it smells like a classic Kiwi icon - the onion dip. And once again I am left wanting chips and dip!
The mask comes in the 45g black pot and has an off white coloring to it. I can clearly see a few "bits" sticking out, but I'm not sure if it's bits of grape or garlic but they don't hinder me in the application in any way, so I'm not bothered.
The mask is quite thick, which is wonderful, but it's not so thick that I have to water it down to apply it - applied with wet fingers to a wet(ish) face, it glides on effortlessly. The off white color dries to an even lighter color, but then it almost looks like my skin if it weren't for the bits stuck to my face! It's not a super tight feeling, but I do enjoy it.
It rinses off like a dream, and my raging pimple I had on Tuesday is practically gone overnight. My skin is left feeling soft, supple, and best of all the pimples have reduced in size, and my skin is less red. Now I'm not saying everyone is going to smell the onion dip, but I don't think the smell is as bad as everyone says it is. Plus, for the results I saw within a night it could smell like a horde of wet dogs and I wouldn't mind ;-)
One of the reasons I love Lush is that everything smells sooooo good. This does not. This has to be one of the worst smelling cosmetic products ever. It doesn't just smell of garlic and tea tree. I got a distinct wiff of wet dog as well when I used it. Ewwwwwww......
BUT......it is worth it! I used this when my skin went through a couple of years of really angry, hormonal breakouts. Nothing else apart from this helped. I used it every few days until the pot was gone. My skin was less red and angry and my spots began to heal.
I would recommend this to anyone suffering from acne breakouts. I've even been known to recommend it to other shoppers in Lush - I really need to just get a job there lol!
