I have pretty fair skin and I used it for about a month. At first it helped my acne and redness quite a bit. It takes a long time to cleanse and it gets mess everywhere. After a while I noticed that my skin was breaking out with lots of tiny blackheads which I’ve never really noticed as a problem. Where the cleanser was good for some of my acne it was horrible for blackheads and made them appear. Since it took so long I also couldn’t wash my face in the morning. I had only used a quarter of the tub and I had to throw it out

Lush Dark Angels Review
Lush Dark Angels Deep, dark, cleanser for young, dark and oily skin. A black, squidgy scrub with charcoal to absorb oils and exfoliate your skin. Nutritious avocado oil softens, glycerine keeps the moisture in and black sugar softly scrubs; rhassoul mud is anti-microbial and cleanses deeply, while sandalwood and rosewood essential oils are soothing, giving you a feeling of smooth, clean freshness that is difficult to beat. Just remember to wash it off properly and clean the wash basin after you.

I love Lush products but this one is not at all one of my favourites. I found the charcoal to be too harsh on my skin and very very drying. I think it overpowered the other ingredients which are meant to moisturise and nourish the skin. I did find that it cleared up my skin and my skin was far from oily after using it. However, I would only recommend this product for very very oily skin and wouldn't recommend using it more than 3 times per week at the most because it seems to be so drying.
I just got a sample on advice from one of staff at Lush. With my Combo skin and oily T zone, i find it hard to look for products that suit me enough. Tried it three times in a week, but it broke me out. I thought may be its starting to purge and will clear in few more days or regular use..tried for another week. Oops bad luck..Not suitable for me. I think its for more of Normal to dry skin. I won't recommend to peeps with my kind of skin. Will think before i use it again. It did show clean skin in first two uses. But then i was disappointed..
Tips: get a sample first!!
Dark angel's from lush was recommended on a beauty page with so many reviews on how great it was I went out and bought some. Had a chat with the girl at lush she also highly recommend it. I washed my makeup off and applied some dark angel , rubbed my T spot lightly it smelt good looked funny but I was excited. Unfortunately when I rinsed I felt tender and felt like my skin went very dry so I applied moisturizer. Next day I had spots and regretted used this product all over my face instead of testing a patch first. I haven't given up I plan on trying to rub a bit more lighter and do a test patch. Product was pricey for its size.
Tips: Patch test.
My skin is oily/combo but I found this to be too rough for me. I like the idea that it's made of good ingredients and it also smells great - quite earthy. this may be suitable for a lot of people, just not for me. I had discussed with friends and the girl at Lush but I did end up finding it to be too harsh and it left my skin red, raw and sore. Definitely get a sample of it first.
I've heard so many good things about this product, and wanted to really like it but found it too harsh on my skin. I found it was a little too drying and irritated my acne prone skin. Ive heard so many good reviews about its use in ance treatment and prevention. Sadly, i couldn't replicate the success. I found that you need to be really careful to make sure you wash it ALL off, otherwise you can be left with black/grey tinge to your skin, which is not an attractive look.
I would say this product is more of a scrub than a wash. It really does the trick though and my skin feels so soft and exfoliated afterwards, and it smells awesome. You only need a small pinch of it so it lasts a long time. My only complaint is that my latest batch seems to stain my skin black. I've only found this in the past once the product is getting older but this time I noticed it right from the start, and I've had to scrub it off my beck and chest area with a loofah even after only using it on my face.
Tips: I wouldn't recommend for sensitive skin or while skin has breakouts. Use Ayesha mask afterwards for super soft skin.
I love Angels on Bare Skin so decided to try this. I was going through a really bad breakout and found out charcoal is amazing for your skin. When the paste was easy to make but the first thing that hit me when I put it on my face was the smell. Maybe they were going for a liquorice sort of scent but to me the first thing that came to mind is, "Oh my gosh it smells like gasoline!" as I scrubbed the black paste on my face I did detect a hint of mint but it the gasoline scent was still strongly there. The granules in the paste are definitely more coarse than Angels on Bare Skin. When my face was black and I rinsed it off only to find my skin was black marks on it and the charcoal was in every pore on my face. I took a gel cleanser and double cleansed my face and that cleaned the charcoal out of my pores. Looking at the ingredients it has Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate so unlike it's angelic counter part it isn't completely natural. The granules are also coarser so not something I would use daily, probably twice a week. It also leaves a mess over the sink. I'm a bit on the fence about whether I'm going to purchase this as I don't like the scent, it leaves my pores black unless I double cleanse, not completely natural compared to it's counterparts and it's not a daily cleanser. On the flip side it does get into your pores and so you know it does clean them out and while it wasn't something I recommend for every day it didn't leave my skin feeling dry either.
Tips: Definitely get a sample before you buy the tub as the scent is really strong. I wouldn't recommend this to use when you're in a hurry as you will need to double cleanse as this will leave black marks on your face and make your pores look black not to mention make a mess over your sink. But this is a good cleanser for a deep cleanse at the end of the day.
This charcoal face scrub for sure helps stubborn and pimple prone skin. I personally found it a little too abrasive as I brought it intended as a daily face scrub and used it that way for a while, but decided it was more of a once a week exfoliator. The black charcoal can be very stubborn to rinse off, so I would used a moisturiser after and it seemed to help get the colour off my face after use. I also found it quite drying so would definitely need to pair this with a good facial moisturiser. I love all of the lush cleansers because they all last a very long time, so they are very good value for money.
Tips: To ensure you get good value for money, use as directed (small pinch). Its all you need most of the time :)
Wow, this stuff is extreme! It's so black, I was really surprised when I opened the container. I found it a bit too strong for me in terms of the exfoliation. I also really didn't like the black; it was just messy! I found the smell a bit off putting as well, it's a strange smell that is quite strong. Overall, I wouldn't buy it and I wouldn't recommend it.
