I really enjoy the lush shower jellys, and conditioners for their lovely smells and for mosturising my skin. and whist I love the smell of their soaps they are a little harsh and drying on the skin. they also arent as soapy as other products - maybe because their all natural?

Lush Honey I Washed The Kids Review
Lush Honey I Washed The Kids Review
Best-selling honey toffee soap-sation
Honey I Washed the Kids is one of our best-selling soaps because it’s simply irresistible. People who fully intended to walk past a LUSH shop find themselves unable to resist its sweet caramel fragrance. You’ll inhale, drool, pick up a big chunk and immediately want to wash yourself all over with it. It’s so gentle, buttery and scrumptious you’ll have a hard time keeping it to yourself. The honey water and aloe are so softening and moisturizing, you can use our toffee-scented sensation on the whole family.

This seemed to be a really popular soap so it was on my list to try. It has a honey with a hint of caramel like scent and lathers really well. I did enjoy showering with this soap although I can't use it everyday since I have sensitive skin and this soap has sodium lauryl sulfate. Despite that it does have some other good natural ingredients in it like rapeseed oil, coconut oil, glycerine, honey aloe vera extract and gardenia extract. I'm not exactly sure what gives this soap it's scent but it does have perfume so unfortunately this scent isn't just purely from the honey and sweet wild orange oil and bergamot oil. This soap lathers up nicely thanks to the SLS but because of that my skin is a bit dry as a result after I shower. That being said most sulfate loaded soaps dry out my skin but this is one the less drying side of the sulfate loaded bars. I do enjoy using this but I'm not sure if I'll get this again just because of the sulfate.
Tips: If you don't mind sulfates this is a nice choice for a Lush soap but if you do have sensitive skin save it for use every few days.
My partners son got me this for Christmas. I wasn't expecting anything so it was a nice surprise. It was a decent size chunk and I'm still using it.
I'm not a big soap user so I've been using this to wash my hands. Its very creamy and lathers nicely. The soap bubbles feel soft and creamy and my hands feel hydrated.
It smells like honey and caramel and is a bit too sickly sweet for me, but I like it. I'll keep using it but I probably wouldn't repurchase it myself.
This is a really subtle honey scent that isn't too sweet. It froths up really easily and creates a lovely scent in the shower. The bar does build up soap scunge easily in the shower. I do prefer this in shower gel form as I find shower gel easier to use and also travel with than bar soap. But the scent is to die for.
This purchase was from the Lush Honey Gift pack, the piece I received was part of the lower section without the clear toffee coloured top. I love how the whole undivided piece looks like a giant Crème brûlée pudding.
The colour is a creamy caramel colour with no bells or whistles (or sparkle or any such decoration), it smells so beautiful like a soft honey lolly that you just can't get enough of. It lathers really well and leaves my skin feeling moisturised but not oily... just, well... nourished I guess. This soap can last a fair amount of time in your shower if kept high and dry, but yet it makes a great all round family soap (even the boys like to grab for this one).

This is the first soap from lush, and I am absolutely in love with it. Even though the (very helpful!) girl in Lush recommended a different soap that would be more suited to my skin type, I had to try this one - it just smells so good! The bar is very easy to use, it doesn't lather too much so there's not a lot of waste, but if you have a loofah or something you can really build some bubbles. It leaves your skin feeling really squeaky clean, but is also quite nourishing - I've noticed mine's been in better condition since I've started using it. The smell also lingers a little so you (and your bathroom!) will smell delicious for a while after you shower. I think this is a fair price, the bar does last a really long time which is good. The only thing that would stop me from buying this again is Lush's huge range of other soaps which I'd like to try. Also, it does remind me of Rick Moranis whenever I'm showering, which isn't so great... :P
Tips: Keep this in a nice dry container to stop it melting away when you're not using it!
This soap is actually a big hit with my whole family (siblings and parents that is, as I don't have kids). Even my brother likes it. That's because it smells delicious but just leaves a subtle scent once out of the shower. It is great for moisturizing and is also great for people with sensitive skin.
I bought the Honey I washed my hair solid shampoo and shower gel so it only seemed right that I complete the set and get the soap. I am so glad I did too. I am a sweet scent loving girl so of course when I see the name honey I am all in with no regrets. I love the scent of the Honey I washed the kids soap. It sticks to the name of smelling just like honey but with an almost caramel undertone to it which drives my senses nuts! I bought a biggish offcut of this soap because I knew I would just fall in love with it. $11.34 later and I had this baby join my Lush honey crew.
It's a light caramel colour and has the rustic look I love about the lush soaps. It's never an even shape, just a cut off the big block and that's the way I like it. I really only use this soap in the bath because I find that it tends to melt away far too fast in the stream of the shower. Also I find that leaving it in the shower creates a slimy build up on the soap if I don't wash it off the block every day. I have found that even though I am obsessed with this soap and using it on my skin, it tends to dry my skin out a bit so am left having to moisturize big time after every use. I am ok with this because the honey/caramel scent is on my skin for hours afterwards. I always have to have a chunk on hand because it really grabs you and won't let you go. It's really that scrummy.
Tips: Don't leave it in the shower for too long without use. It develops a slimy soapy buildup that is unpleasant.
When Lush first came to my town I was drawn in. At that stage my skin was seriously sensitive. Even looking at anything with perfume would react with it. I was drooling over everything when a assistant who had sensitive skin came to talk to me.
She totally understand my skin and how Fustrating it was and sent me home with honey I washed the kids soap and shower gel. I was hooked! I brought the soap and was still worried how my skin would go. I was told if I reacted I could get a refund.
So these soaps you get to pick how big a chunk you would like. You can also pick if you would like the top honeycomb bit. It's the hard bit that is stuck to the top. I like that bit. If you break a wee bit off and put it in the plug hole area, as the hot water hits it, it sends the fragrance up. Make sure it's smaller than the hole so water can still go down. It's also nice wrapping it up in the paper it comes in and placing in clothes drawers or linen cupboards.
So the soap. It's a strong honey smell. It wont dry out your skin (still requires moisturizer after showering) and doesn't react with my eczema. It leaves a lovely soft fragrance on your skin. Using it on babies is heaven! Smelling them with it on. Need I say more lol
Tips: When you use it, keep it on a rack that drains to keep it dry. It will last longer.
I love the Lush range of soaps and the fact that they make using soap a fun experience. The Honey I Washed the Kids soap lasted a good amount of time (almost 2 months) and it held its shape well until right near the end. It lathered well and while it wasn't super creamy, it didn't dry my skin out. Like with almost any soap/body wash I did use moisturiser afterwards though.
Unfortunately, I'm just not a fan of the scent. It's the same as the Gold Fun from Lush, and while it's a bit more toned down in the soap version, I just find it too strong. Maybe it does smell like toffee, but to me it's a really artificial toffee that I don't find pleasant - when I think of the scent I think of fakeness and chemicals, which is the opposite of what Lush products generally are! I had high expectations for this one after seeing it described as 'like washing with creme brulee in solid form', but unfortunately it failed to impress me. Since one of the key reasons for using Lush products is for the yummy scents, I'd definitely skip over this one next time I'm looking for soaps - since they have such a wide range that seem to perform similarly, in future I'd go with a scent I love.
Tips: Find it in store and see if you like the smell - I haven't read about anyone else having a problem with it so maybe it's just me!
