Lush Honey I Washed The Kids Shower Gel Review

After falling in love with the ‘Honey I washed the Kids’ Soap, I was so excited to see this product being released. I don’t really like using soap (unless it’s Lush) and would choose shower gel over soap any day.

Like most lush shower gels, this one comes in a plastic bottle with a black lid. Simple design, nothing fancy but it sits up in the shower easily, and doesn’t fall over all the time so already its better than other shower gel bottles. However, when the shower gel is nears the end, it is hard to get the last bit out, as this bottle does not sit well upside down.

The shower gel is beautiful in regards to consistency! Its not too thick, and not too thin. It’s easy to squeeze out of the bottle and all that too. It’s a beautiful toffee colour, and it smells like toffee as well, but to me the smell is a bit stronger, and harsher than that of the soap.

This gel lathers up nicely and fills my shower with a beautiful warm toffee smell, but once again it isn’t the same smell as the soap, and I will admit I am a little bit disappointed about that because to my nose, that soap fragrance is pure perfection.

Overall, this is a nice shower gel. I didn’t love the scent as much as I thought I would though and for that reason I would not repurchase.

I purchased a large bottle of this in last years boxing day sale. I think it was around $15 and although I'd never smelled this gel in store, I liked the soap and couldn't pass up this deal. Once it arrived in the post, I sniffed it and just thought it was way too strong for me so put it away. I came across it again a couple of months ago and realised it was coming close to the best before date so I needed to use it up.

This just comes in a standard lush shower gel bottle with a flip cap and clear plastic. It has the best before date and who made it on a handy sticker. I have recently found out that shower gels from lush do last longer than what they say on the sticker too!

This gel looks like a caramel in the bottle and it has quite a thick consistency, funnily enough it reminds me of honey. The scent of this is very heavy and can be definitely overwhelming. It has a very intense toffee scent and then of course it has the strong honey scent alongside. I find it lathers up really well and really scents the bathroom and my body nicely. I use body lotion and also perfume so I'm not sure how long this scent will last by itself on your body. I didn't enjoy this the first few times I used it but then slowly I started to like it and that like quickly grew to love. In fact I put this bottle away to use another scent and I really missed this. I don't have too much of this bottle left but I don't want to be without it so I will be purchasing another one probably pretty quickly afterwards. I even purchased a solid perfume of this scent as well!

I'd definitely say to go to a lush store and have a sniff of this. It really is an acquired scent I feel, but maybe give it a chance and you might fall in love like I have.

I was a bit scared to trial this soap as its made with real honey and was worried it would make my skin feel sticky. It did the complete opposite, it made my skin feel clean and hydrated as well as making my skin smell really good. I love the funky name and highly recommend this product.

Lush is life first of all. I have to get that in there because it's true Lush has quickly become part of my daily routine. I have the soap Honey I Washed the Kids so of course it was only expected that I was to buy the Honey I Washed the Kids shower gel to go with it.

I am in love with the scent that Honey I Washed the Kids lets off. It smells of sweet honey and a hint of vanilla. It is beyond heaven to me. Honey is one of my fave scents in the wide world when it comes to body products.

The bottle it comes in is the normal Lush bottle design. It has the same writing and colour which is in keeping to its clean green image. I love the fact that you can reuse the bottles for other things. I use mine for my sons bath toys.

The shower gel itself is very thick and creamy like. Once it settles a bit it turns a milky white colour which at first made me think there was something wrong with the batch. Being so thick it means that I don't need much on my shower puff. It lathers up awesomely. The flubbles are great and thats when I know that I am clean.

Afterwards my body is cleansed and feeling great! The only and biggest problem is the smell! It doesn't smell like the soap. That is the scent I fell in love with and that is what I was expecting. I was horribly disappointed.

I have the 100g bottle and it had the settled particles in the bottom of the bottle (regular clear Lush bottle with black flip cap), it is hard to re-mix the product at first but as you use more and the air in the bottle is greater than the easier it is to mix. I was caught unaware by how runny this product is, it is not a gel as such, more of a shower liquid that will flow out quite freely if not careful. It doesn't lather as much as others in the range but it smells like sweet honey caramel (I almost want to smear it on popcorn... but NOPE).

The scent lingers on the skin well after use as well. It leaves the skin soft and hydrated but not oily and if you are prone to body breakouts I think this product would help balance the skin.

I am not planning on re-purchasing this but if it happened to come in a gift box purchase then I would use it happily.

Honey oh honey, I love honey. I think honey on toast is my ultimate comfort food and there is so much goodness in honey, what's not to love about it?

I bought a 100ml of this, this comes in the standard lush packaging a clear plastic bottle, with the black lush label and black flip top lid.

The consistency is rather thin so be careful when you squeeze it out. The colour is a very pale, almost see through brown.

I squeeze out a good dollop onto a shower puff and get lathering and yes this does lather quite well, I love lather and bubbles! This feels so good on my skin I feel clean yet moisturised. And the scent of sweet honey scent oh it's heaven. It doesn't leave my skin with that "squeaky clean" feeling either. No offence kiddos but I don't think I will be using it on you, this is mummy's only.

Afterwards my skin does feel baby bottom smooth and slightly moisturised. Will I repurchase? Yes definitely, I find myself reaching for this when I need a pick me up and when we have run out of bread, it really is my comforter.

This is one of my original favourite Lush scents, so the fact that it's available in a shower gel as well as a soap and a shampoo bar is SWEET (pun intended)

The gel lathers into a creamy foam and isn't drying, stripping or harsh. it gently cleanses skin and washes away cleanly, leaving traces of the scent behind. The scent, by the way, is to die for. It's a honey-toffee-caramel hybrid that's warm and sweet and delicious.

Having this in a shower gel is more decadent than the soap, and (while I love the soap) I'd buy it this way over that, simply for ease of use and luxurious feelings in the shower.

After trying the honey I washed the kids soap I just had to get my hands on the shower gel. I purchased the 250g bottle. It is a gorgeous caramel colour and smells devine like toffee caramel goodness. I want to bath in it.

The bottle needs a good shake before you use it as I find it seperates a bit. The gel is quite a runny consistency. I was a bit worried that I was going to have to use heaps but I started with a small amount on my shower puff and boy does it lather up well!

It leaves my body smelling amazing and my skin is left feeling clean and doesn't feel dry at all. The aroma lingers around for an hour or so.

I am happy I purchased the gel as I definitely prefer it to the soap. It is easier to travel with and more economical for me. As you need to use such a small amount I feel it will last for ages. Love it!
