Felt like sugar on my lips not nice, too much texture, not good sensory needs. Would like something a little less clumpy

This was the second Lush lip item I've used and it will definitely be the last.
I'm not sure what the other flavours are like but I found the Popcorn one to be totally off-putting and 'chemically' tasting. It certainly wasn't something you would want to lick off and in fact I had to scrub my teeth each time I used it to get rid of the taste.
It sort-of worked to smooth my lips but not as successfully (or cheaply) as just using a damp face flannel which was my old routine.
There are definitely cheaper alternatives and I would look at making my own version at home in future.
I bought the cola lip scrub during the Christmas season. I do like the packaging. It's cute and the glass bottle is very sturdy. It also comes with a screw too so you won't get product everywhere. That's where the pros end for me unfortunately. Whilst the cola flavour does smell go and taste good,it didn't work well as a lip scrub in my opinion. The chunks were hard and left my lips messy and sticky feeling which I don't like. It also left my lips more dry and patchy than before using it. I also felt that I wasted a lot of it trying to scoop it out of the little pot.
Tips: I would just save myself $12.50 and exfoliate with a damp towel instead. Definitely a disappointment for me
I brought the cola one of this just before Christmas as I just wanted to try something a little different. It tastes really good, and the little eatable hearts on top were very cute. But I personally find it so messy to use then after wards I’m just left with a sticky mess on and around my lips. Also I didn’t really notice a difference in my lips after using it. I use many other Lush products that I love and would highly recommend but for me the lip scrub just doesn’t work. (Sorry Lush I still love you). I feel kinda bad about this because everyone else on here seems to love it, but products don't always work for everyone I guess x
I love the feeling of body scrubs, so I was excited to try this lip scrub. However, I find that it doesn't work well with super dry lips. I wanted it to exfoliate and remove the dead skin in my lips but it only made them really sore and raw. My lips were left even drier. I do find that it works best when your lips are only slightly dry or when you apply some lip balm first. I didn't find that this was hydrating at all.
I have the bubblegum lip scrub and the colour is a bright pink. However the colour doesn't stain or colour your lips at all. The smell if very sweet and it does indeed smell like bubble gum. It also tastes really sweet, I guess because it is largely made out of sugar. It's actually too sweet for me so when I'm done exfoliating I just wipe the excess off with a tissue.
Overall I am a bit disappointed with this product as it didn't live up to its expectations I had. I had heard great things about this product and it had heaps of great reviews. I probably won't be purchasing this again, mainly because for the price you can just make your own for less than half the price, and I prefer lip balm as it hydrates my lips better.
I gave three stars on reccomending it to a friend as not everyone has sensitive skin like I do. I did a patch test on my wrist and it felt lovely. I applied it gently to my lips but the rough sugars in it shredded my lips and left them very sore. This is not a product for sensitive lips.
Tips: Definitely do a patch test as you should with all cosmetics and apply gently to your lips.
I was surprisingly happy with the flavour of this, as I usually don't like the taste of sweet bubblegum flavoured things! It was good, although personally I wouldn't but it again just because I could easily enough use sugar and honey from the pantry - which does the exact same thing.
Tips: Make sure to exfoliate for a long time, or you are left with dry skin semi-attached to your lip. Keep smacking them lips together until it feels velvety smooth!
I'm a huge fan of Lush products, so was excited to buy this in my last Lush haul. The scent and taste of this scrub is fabulous (I got the bubblegum flavour pictured), and the idea of applying something and licking it off it simply genius! However my love for this product stops about there.
Sure its a fun product to use, but I found it also rather messy with sugar granules going everywhere and it left my mouth area really sticky. And in terms of results, my lips felt a bit smoother straight after suing, but I saw no difference in the condition of my lips long term(or longer than an hour). So Lush gets 10 points for a novel idea, but I wont be repurchasing, as once the novelty wears off it just becomes a sticky waste of time.
A friend of mine is a huge lush fan like myself and was telling me about this. So off I went and brought it.
I really like the packaging. The wee pottle/jar is small enough to take anywhere. I really like the smell! Now that's where my really likes end.
So you have to dip your finger in (I don't like that) then you have to rub it onto your lips. The bits of sugar drop down your top. Well it does for me.
I can see it being more of a teenager sort of product. It does make your lips smooth.
Tips: Use it before a shower or a wash
I tried this the other day, I couldn't handle the smell of it, the texture, put it on once and that was enough for me. I had heard so many good things about it too. Not sure why I couldn't handle it. My daughter is trying it now. Such a shame cause I usually love all lush products :(.
