Been using this during spring and summer and for the first time my lips seem to always be dry, cracked and peeling constantly. Even following the application with coconut oil balm doesn't seem to help my poor lips. Have only noticed dry lips sinve using the lip scrub. So slightly disappointing and something I will not be repurchasing again.

Tips: Follow instructions and followup with a good lip balm.
What better way to prepare and exfoliate your lips than coating them with sugary, candy-scented goodness? To be honest, I can’t really think of any- scrubbing your lips with a flannel or old toothbrush is nowhere near as glamorous (or delicious).
LUSH’s bubblegum lip scrub is a cute product, but a product that I consider to be a beauty ‘treat’ as opposed to an essential item. I bought this product because it was in one of their giftpacks that went half price after Christmas. I do not consider exfoliating my lips with sugar to be a staple in my beauty routine-it’s definitely one of those ‘nice-to-have’, but ‘can-live-withou’ items.
But boy, does this little gem satiate a sweet tooth. It tastes and smells like their hugely popular (LUSH were once quoted saying that if they didn’t bring out ‘Snow Fairy’ every year “there would be street riots”) limited edition ‘Snow Fairy’ shower gel.
The scrub is pink, comes in a 25g glass tub and will last you a decent amount of time. My only criticism is that this product us a little crumbly and should have more of the jojoba oil so that the sugar sticks together a bit more, because when you scoop a bit out quite a bit falls off your finger. I put mine on, and rinse off lightly, then mange (that’s the French word for eat) the rest. Or I just mange it all if I fancy it. Lips are left smooth, supple and moisturized- ready for lip balm and your lip colour.
Great for someone who gets flaky lips, or someone who loves to wear unforgiving lipcolours or textures (Retro Matte lippies anyone?).
Bottom line: This is a very sweet (!) product at a good price point. Grab one next time you’re at LUSH and in need of a treat.
Tips: If you’re in a DIY mood, the main three ingredients in this are sugar, jojoba oil and flavour.
I got given a pot of this for Christmas and was super excited to try the new flavour. But I really don't enjoy the smell/taste and much prefer my bubblegum one! I will use it eventually when my other pot runs out and the edible glitter hearts in the pot were cute but I think the taste is just too artificial for me.
Tips: I find it way easier to use this in the shower - that way you can get all the sugar off without licking! Also great to use on elbows if you have run out of body scrub.
this product tastes and smells amazing! it is great at exfoliating lips and moisturizes as well! Great product! Recommend Bubble gum!
Great to use before putting on lipstick to get rid of the dry bits, try not to use to much as it is a small jar for the price you pay! I love the stuff but if you had the time you could easily make your own sugar lip scrub for a lot less.
i have the flavour 'bubblegum' and it's amazing. I apply this before any lipstick and it ensures that my lips are super smooth which helps the lipstick go on easier
Upsides: This is great for chapped lips, it removes flaking/peeling skin from your lips and leaves them feeling much smoother and softer. Perfect for severely chapped lips. A little goes a long way and this product lasts a while.
Downsides: The flavours/scents are in my opinion very overpowering and sickly sweet. For something that goes on my lips I hate the nasty taste of this product, it's like putting vaseline in your mouth. Application is quite messy as the sugar scrub is quite dry and the sugar tends to go everywhere (however I've heard that the consistency varies)
Tips: I recommend you only use when your lips are very chapped and not too often. After use alternate with a lip balm for lovely smooth lips.
I'm a bit of a fiend when it comes to lip biting so teamed with the effects of the weather, my lips are pretty chapped, scabby and sore. This stuff worked amazingly at exfoliating the dead skin without irritating the lips and also tasted so yummy!
Tips: Don't overdo it. A little goes a long way. Moisturise with a lip product afterwards.
I bet I’m not the only person who heard about this product, before they heard about Lush. Before I was into my bubble bars, bath bombs, and masks, the one product I had heard about was Lush’s lip scrub. To be more specific, the bubble-gum lip scrub. I really heard about this scrub, before I heard about the brand it was from. So when clearly, this had to be the first lush product I tried, although the buying did not stop there.
This lip scrub comes in a small glass container, and honestly, I kind of found it hard to spend $12.00 on this tiny jar of product! However, peer pressure, and word of mouth told me I had to do it, so i had to purchase it. It has a small black plastic lid, and the simple lush logo’s.
Now, when you open this product, let me tell you, it is filled to the brim! I swear they have had a hard time closing that lid because there is no empty space in the glass jar at all, which is awesome because when I pay $12.00 for something that small, I don’t want half of it to be air.
This lip scrub is a beautiful candy pink, and you can see its made up of small sugar granules, that look and smell delicious.. Okay it also tastes delicious. I mean how could I have used this product, and not tasted it. I use my finger to get some product out of the glass jar, and use my finger to rub this product over my damp lips. A process I do over the sink because boy, can it get messy quickly. As lips are one of the most sensitive areas on your face, you will be happy to know that I found the lip scrub really gentle, and the scrub does a pretty good job at getting the dead skin off my lip, and leaves my lips feeling soft, and smooth, without feeling dried out, or sensitive.
This is a decent product to have in your home. It is a wee bit expensive for a lips scrub, and I do think it would be pretty easy to make your own at a cheaper price, which might not smell or taste as good, but would do pretty much the same thing. This isn’t my favourite lip scrub because of the price, and the mess factor, but it is okay so I would repurchase it, but most likely when it is on sale.
I have had this given to me as a gift (the pop corn flavour) and it smelt amazing. I found that the granules were a bit to big and harsh on my lips and would have preferred something a little finer. It says you can lick it off but I found the salt made it taste disgusting, so I just wash it off. It leaves a resedue on the lips after its washed off that makes your lips nice and smooth.
Tips: I like to use this before I put on a matte lipstick for better application and to stop my lips from drying out.
