I recently started trying out the Lush Reindeer Rock Soap, and have quite mixed feelings about it so far. Although the scent is AMAZING (it made my bathroom cupboard smell incredible for weeks), I've found that since I've actually opened the package it was in and been using it as a soap the scent has dissipated somewhat. I also have found that although it is very smooth and silky to use, it is quite hard to lather up properly in my hands. I do think it is super pretty, however - nothing beats a gorgeous colour and sparkles in a soap! Might not be repurchasing however, since it didn't do much for me practically.

I really love this soap especially the beautiful picture of the Reindeer on the top, really reminds me of Christmas. It has a nice fruity type smell to it and is a really generous size too. It doesn't lather up as much as I would like it to, but in some respect its not such a bad thing because it makes it last longer. The only down side to this soap is that it isn't really moisturising for my dry skin. It actually leaves it feeling quite dry and have to double dose on the moisturiser. Other than that, its a great soap and would definitely make a great present or stocking stuffer especially for the kiddie winkles.
By now everyone including my next door neighbours brothers, cousin's aunt twice removed knows how much I love Lush and that it is life for me, I don't usually LOVE the soaps although I have a major stockpile just so they look purdy in a glass jar on my bath tub. This one however has me in knots wanting more and more!
I bought it with the whole xmas stock obviously but I seriously wish I had gotten more of it to satisfy my want and need for it. I got just over 100g and paid $8.50. It comes in a clear plastic bag to keep it semi protected and with the label attached to tell you what it is with the weight and ingredients.
I love the picture of the deer on it however, the deer must be massive because I only have an antler and part of an ear on mine. It is dark purple with glittery and shimmery bits in it. In one word BEAUTIFUL!! It makes my heart happy that's for sure.
I cut a small piece off just so I could try it and not ruin the rest. It smells of blackberry but even sweeter. The scent is intense but it's amazing! I love me some bling so the glitter and shimmer is right up my alley. I used it over my whole body expecting it to make my skin dry and squeaky like the other Lush soaps do but it didn't do that. The bubbles are not in short supply which I love and are creamy almost. My skin feels quite slippery but nourished and moisturised which is awesome. The smell lingers on my skin for most of the day unless I am doing something strenuous.
The only thing I didn't like is like all the other Lush soaps it forms a slimy film if you leave it in the shower soap dish for it to get wet. I find myself having to scrape off the scum just to get to the soap. I would have also expected some of the shimmer to transfer to my skin but it doesn't seem to wanna stick. In the end though it's a gorgeous soap that I love and does what soap should do. I hope they make it again next xmas round.
Tips: Keep out of the wet areas to avoid it getting a slimy film on it.
A little red nose is all this is missing (ok my bar was also missing the full reindeer but I digress).
Cassis (blackcurrent) is a top note of the scent in this soap and it is a subtle rush of sweet fruitiness that tickles at the nose whilst lathering up as a regular soap does. The soap shimmers away when wet with little star-like flecks hidden inside the galaxy that is the Reindeer Rock soap.
I was lucky enough to be sent a sample of this (I had already purchased a full size in my previous Lush order but not yet used it) so I embarked on trying the sample first in case I needed to gift the full size if it wasn't to my liking... I will acknowledge that this is going no where and will be a regular feature in my Lush Christmas shopping (sorry to my hubby and my bank balance)
The silver reindeer that was partially on my sample washed away very quickly so I wasn't as saddened by the missing one on my full size bar, and the sample lasted over a week in the shower so I reckon it is great value for money. The Lingonberry in it is meant to help with skin elasticity and whilst I haven't been using this for much longer than a week I think I can see a slight improvement already in my stomach region (post two kiddies).
I love the back story of this soap too and how they have based the reindeer carving in the soap off ancient Scandinavian rock carvings... and it is so cute too.
I was lucky enough to have this product popped in with an online order I made from lush (lucky me)! I have never used their soaps before so was a little hesitant but I just loved the scent.
It has a lovely berry scent that is not too overpowering or sickly sweet - rather juicy, fresh and Christmas-y. I am actually quite impressed with Lush soaps; I am normally a shower gel person as I don't like the often dry feel of soaps. This soap is slippery and doesn't feel dry to apply (or wash off). A little seems to go a long way and my small slice seems to be lasting me quite a while. Lastly, the silver reindeer is just adorable! I really do love Lush!
Tips: I am not sure if they do samples of soaps, but Lush usually are really good at giving out samples for you to try before you buy!
I'm not a fan of soaps, I hate how messy they get and how they can dry my skin out so lump for a foaming hand soap that comes in a bottle over a bar for my sink areas for washing hands. I made a huge order from Lush when they released this year's Christmas editions and they popped in a huge chunk of this Reindeer Rock soap for free and now I'm kind of addicted to it.
Packaging wise, well if you know lush you know that they really don't do packaging aside from their branded wrapping paper that all the loose products are sent inside. This chunky slab of soap is pretty to look at with its deep blackcurrant shading and silver embedded sparkly reindeer on top. The smell is what has me hooked. It has a blackcurrant scent that makes me think of Ribena warmed up, or a blackcurrant licorice sweet I used to have back in England. It is additive I almost want to eat it.
It foams up really easy and the reside it leaves on the basin when you place it there is a brown sludge that never really hardens so it is easily washed away with no problems. I have only been using this as a hand soap in the bathroom but it hasn't dried out my skin or caused my hands to be irritated or crack. Will be getting another piece of this soap very soon as I am down to a sliver left and I need it...I need it!!!!
Out of all the LUSH soaps I have brought and used I would have to say this soap is the one I am loyal to. I had brought some from a Lush buy and sell group and I fell in love! I have been through 4 Reindeer rock soaps and I have already made plans to restock before Christmas is over. Sadly this soap is only stocked around Christmas time so you need to buy some before the jolly season ends!
The soap is a beautiful purple colour, it has small glittery dust which looks like it has been blessed with Reindeer dust, it smells like Blackcurrant and raspberries and gives your skin a light kiss of berry goodness. I have found this soap to not have a strong scent that lasts compared to other LUSH soaps.
My skin feels smooth, fruity and ready to take on the day. I like to get this soap and wrap it in my exfoliating cloth and rub it over my skin to get rid of all the dead skin. It also helps when I shave and gives me the closest shave with a delicious scent.
If I could afford to I would purchase a whole wheel of this, it is so good! But please try not to eat it, it smells good enough to eat but it doesn't taste as good as it smells.
I picked this up on a whim in Dunedin when I went in to buy my Snow Fairy. I was drawn by the gorgeous deep red colour and silvery shimmer to pick up a piece and the scent is to die for; I had to have it.
Reindeer Rock is a seasonal Lush Xmas soap, and this year is the first time I have purchased it. You purchase in the usual (for Lush) way - the soap comes in huge blocks and they carve off a piece for you. My piece is quite big, and was around the $11 mark. This soap is of the harder type, meaning that it will last longer than the creamier varieties do.
Reindeer Rock soap initially appears as a deep, glossy red shade, but when you wet it and lather up you realise that hidden in the depths is a gorgeous shimmery silvery lustre. This doesn't give your skin a Twilight sparkle, more just makes it very pretty to use; I find myself entranced by how pretty it is sometimes!
The lather has a faint red hint to it. The soap does what soap should do (cleans you!) without drying skin out. The fragrance is a divine wintery berry fragrance - it kinda reminds me of mulled wine with a bit more sweetness.
Stock up on this one while you can, ladies! it's actually my new fave Lush soap of all time! I wish they made it in a shower gel :)
Tips: You can get Lush to carve off a wee sample next time you're in store, if you want to try it out. I recommend you buy the entire huge block, but thats just me :p
I am a sucker for limited edition products and in particular Christmas limited editions all the yummy scents, so when Lush uploaded all the new Christmas range to their site I was like a moth to a flame.
When it arrived i opened up the cellophane wrap for a wee sniff and good heavens I liked it a lot. Sweet blackcurrant came rushing out to welcome me with open arms, it also reminds me a bit of the sweetie pie shower jelly.
One end of the block was completely covered in silver lustre, which all came off when I ran it under the tap, there is lustre through the deep purple coloured bar that makes it look so pretty.
This lathers up quite a bit when you use it and leaves a faint hint of the blackcurrant after using it.
This is a hit for me the deep purple colour, the lustre, the blackcurrant scent what's not to love.
I bought a 100 gram block of this soap in the lush sale that they held after Christmas. I'd never tried it or even smelled it instore so I wasn't sure what to expect but it sounded interesting and I wanted to give it a go.
This comes packaged in a see through plastic bag with just a printout of what it is. Nothing fancy but it does the trick. The soap itself is a dark purple. I didn't get any reindeers on my piece. Lush make their soaps in big pieces and then cut them off so it makes each piece a bit different which is quite cool.
The scent of this is really interesting and even though I've been using it for about a week, I still can't really pinpoint what it reminds me of. It smells a little bit like red licorice, it's quite sweet but it has a little something extra like a herbal kind of scent. I don't really know. It's not my most fave scent from lush but I don't hate it. It also lingers for a while after I wash my hands, which I like.
I find this lathers up pretty well and so far it hasn't turned into a squishy mess.
I wouldn't rush out to get this soap but I'd possibly get this again if it was on sale. I assume it only comes out at Christmas time, but I'm only a new lush addict so I could be wrong.
