Unless you're allergic to any of the ingredients or hate the smell of roses, then there is no reason you shouldn't go and try this! It is suitable for all skin types and is hands down one of the best clay masks I've ever used.
I was lucky enough to be given a sample of this by my gorgeous friend, she always spoils me with Lush samples and she had nothing but good things to say about this mask. I was reluctant at first because I'm not always the biggest fan of rose scents, that and the fact that this is aimed at calming irritated skins I didn't think I would like it very much or see any benefits. Oh, I was very mistaken.
Scent: This is the most beautiful rose fragrance I have ever smelt, it is like a mix of fresh blooms and turkish delight, it's quite strong but it does dull down as the mask sets. I really do like it even though I am picky about scents.
Product: With glycerine being the first ingredient in this lovely concoction, it makes the mask very smooth and silky feeling, it also makes it a little harder to spread over the skin since it's quite thick, I find using a stiff paddle brush works well for application. Once on it takes around 10-15 minutes to completely dry down. What I love about this mask, and what makes it appropriate for all skin types, is that as it sets it doesn't pull at the skin and create that awful tugging feeling. It is so gentle and soft that you don't have to worry about your skin drying out even more because the clay properties are so mild. To remove I like to wet a wash cloth with warm water and hold it on the skin to reactivate the clay, this way it becomes easy to wash away without pulling at the skin too much. I find this mask rinses cleanly and I don't have to go over my skin too many times to get rid of residue. Afterwards my skin is left incredibly soft, smooth and has a subtle glow. I feel fresh, refined and soothed, it's an outstanding mask and I wish I could purchase this in a giant squeeze tube.
Overall: Love it. It's amazing and I will definitely look at picking it up. The only thing that puts me off is that it's a fresh face mask and expires rather quickly, this means a lot can go to waste if you don't use this weekly/more than weekly.
I was so lucky to get this mask for free when I sent in 5 empty pots with my wonderful friend Laura (thanks babe, my personal Lush shopper you lol).
I was a bit dubious at first as to be honest, I'm not a massive Rose scent fan, but I had heard so many good things about it, so why not give it a try right?
Well anyone that uses Lush know these masks come in recyclable pots, love the fact they are so super user friendly and you get to get a freebie after you send in 5 pots, you lovelies at Lush rock, thank you so much xx
When you open the pot, you are hit with the most pleasant rose smelling scent, not overpowering which is great for us that aren't so keen on rose scents.
Because it is a fresh face mask, it was stored in the fridge and when you apply it, it is a bit cold but warms up against the natural heat of your skin, so the cold part doesn't last that long. Great for in the Summer though for cooling down.
Easy to apply, leave on for the amount of time recommended, which I did, and then remove. And omg, wow wow wow, talk about silky skin, I still can't stop touching my face and I applied it well over an hour ago ha ha ha.
Great for sensitive and dry skin, I'm going to be purchasing this in the future for sure.
Tips: If you are a bit worried about it reacting with your skin, see if you can get a sample of it, but if you have dry, sensitive skin like me, you will love it xx
