Mixed Bag

Struggled for awhile to find a use for this - I've used better exfoliators, I tried it in my hair as directed (total failure) - eventually tried it as a 'gentle areas after wax' exfoliator - sorted! Works well for that, but I would not purchase another tub when I run out.

Tips: Don't get any water in the tub when showering - ruins the consistency and you end up pouring out heaps of it by mistake.

Does the job

I used this product for a while. Must admit it does work, skin is left smooth and soft. I'm sensitive to smells and try to avoid products that are leaving any traces of smell. Otherwise great product and does work.

Rub rub rub

I'm really glad to see that it's now packaged in a pot. Rub rub rub originally came in a bottle, and the salt would inevitably sink to the bottom. It was hard to distribute it by shaking, due to the thickness of the shower gel.

I do think it's a nice product, and contrary to the other reviews, I didn't find the smell offensive at all. However, I did find it quite drying.

Gentle exfoliation

I got the 130g tub in one of the gift sets for Christmas and it’s been a delight to use however it’s not my favourite scrub largely due to the scent and type of exfoliation.

It’s a blue scrub packed with fine grains of salt and provides gentle exfoliation which is great if you’re not into the heavy duty body scrubs out there. I can definitely smell the lemon in the tub however it reminds me of laundry powder or dish liquid and that’s really not appealing to me nor does it motivate me to use it in my hair!

When using it under running water; I don’t get a sense of exfoliation at all because the scrub just seems to melt away like a shower gel! I prefer to use this while my body is dry. There is enough fluid in the tub to allow you to smother this over your body. It’s a gentle type of exfoliation which means you could use it more than once a week. When rinsing off, again I watch the scrub melt away but I feel like I get my money’s worth by exfoliating while dry and then washing off.

The scrub leaves my body feeling clean and soft but not necessarily moisturised however it does help my body lotion to be absorbed better into the skin. I don’t feel this is the type of scrub that’s refreshing to the point that it’s a good ‘pick-me-up’ in the morning but the scent is lovely enough to linger in the bathroom for an hour. I’m happy to have tried this scrub but I won’t be repurchasing it.

Cheery Blossom scented loveliness from LUSH

LUSH's Rub Rub Rub is a bright blue, salt based body scrub that is relatively gentle, suitable for use a few times a week. It has a very uplifting fragrance- perfect for those tough Monday mornings, and the citrus in it helps to tone and brighten the skin. It has the same scent as their Sakura bath ballistic, one of my all-time favourites. Just like a walk through a japanese garden…in other words: bliss. My issue with this product is the packaging; I wish they still make it in a bottle like they used to. SInce it is in a tub, whenever you scoop some out, water consequentially makes it was in. Salt dissolves in water, and so eventually I find that my product has turned to a watery goo with not much exfoliation to offer when I'm down to the last third. Great product, not so great packaging.

No, the ocean salt is significantly coarser in terms of texture and has more of a toning effect on the skin. Personally it is too intense for me as a facial scrub, but I could see it working on the body.

Is this similar to the Ocean Salt scrub?

Didn't really enjoy this scrub

Which was such a disappointment!! The pot contained the most vivid blue sugary scrub but it didn't smell nice a bit like a fishmonger. Scooping out some to use it just stayed solid and was hard to actually rub into skin more ended up on the bottom of the bath then on me.

My first Lush product..

I bought it because of the reviews here but I ended up really disappointed with this product.I've tried to use it in different ways to achieve a good result but I've got always the same result, the sensation of itchy, stinging skin all over my body and I haven't got any special issues with my skin.I will probably only use it on my feet. I've tried it also in my hair and it didn't feel good.

Not the best

It was a scrub but I didn't really feel like I had the most exfoliated skin after. I purchased it as I was looking for a more natural scrub as most have plastic in them, but this didn't give me the feeling I was after.

I also found the blue colour disturbing.

Meh. Pleasant but no superstar

Bit of a scrub addict. Shower is full. Thick scrubs, botanical scrubs, fruity, pretty smelly. Wanted to try this as love lush products and wanted a pre tan scrub but found it a bit meh. No. Major complaints but just left me a a bit blue. strong smelling almost overpowering. Dissolved too easily and watery so dispersed quickly on the skin or onto shower floor so a lot of wastage. Positives was no residue left and washed off well.

Rub, rub, rub but no thank you scrub!

I had heard so many good things about Rub, rub, rub shower scrub from Lush so of course I had to have it to add to my Lush draw. I was originally drawn in my the smell and the bright blue which reminded me of a tropical island. The citrus, salt and fruity-ish smell left me wanting more!

I have the smaller size pot which I got in a Lush gift pack called 'All the Best' I found it more value for money to get it with a few other Lush goodies. Upon opening in the shower it's very overpowering and almost sickening. I scooped a little at first to see if I liked it on to my skin and was graced with a refreshing hit. It is a light exfoliate which I love using all over my body so of course scooped out bigger amounts to finish the exfoliation. This is where I have trouble continuing to like it though. My skin feels like it has a slippery film all over after use and makes me feel like I have eel slime on my skin.

The smell, although slightly overpowering when you first get it out doesn't last on the skin for very long after use. I felt like I had to have another shower to wash the greasy, slimy feeling off my skin which to me is a total waste of my time and money.

I love that I can take back or reuse the container. I also love the little sticker that say who it is made by and the date they made it. It's so personal and you know they made the product with care. After doing a pros and cons list I have come to the conclusion that I do not like this product on my skin at all. In theory it looked like I needed to have it in my life but upon proper use I find that it's not for me and that it can go forth to a friend who loves it more than I do.

Tips: Use as a light exfoliate on the feet
