This is one of Lush's new releases for the year and there was much excitement at its launch. Of course, being the Lush addict that I am, I raced to the store for a sniff and it fell straight into my basket (with a few other items so it wouldn't be lonely)
On first sniff, it really does feel like a hug in a bottle and instantly comforting. For me, it definitely "brings to mind warm, familiar memories" It is a really pure black currant smell and instantly reminds me of a bottle of cassis my grandad made me take a sniff of (not swig! Far too young then!)
This is runnier than Lush's shower 'gels' which was a bit unexpected. The name 'cream' is a bit misleading to me as I expect it to be thicker than the gel. It is a beautiful deep, dark pink colour. It does appear to separate sometimes between uses so give it a good shake before you use it. It's gentle on my skin and I love to pair it with Ro's Argan body conditioner.
I purchased this in the 100ml bottle but I will definitely be repurchasing in a larger size once I've made a dent in the rest of my Lush shower products.
I first got my hands on this product when I purchased a gift box at Pintsize's recommendation - she said I had to smell this, and as soon as it was in stock I bought it. At the time this wasn't sold in bottles, so I knew I had to have it, and I have since bought a 500g bottle because it's so divine.
The Comforter shower cream is just that, a cream. It's luxuriously creamy, lathers well (with gloves or a loofah at least) and has the same distinct smell of the bubble bar by the same name. The cream is a gorgeous hot pinky/purpley color with white lustre throughout the bottle, which doesn't transfer as far as I'm aware, so glitter haters rejoice!
At first smell I was literally comforted. Just like the bubble bar, this claims to be a cuddle in a bottle and they have hit the nail on the head. The blackberry and vanilla infusion is the smell that stands out most, and then I'm hit with something deeper that I can't quite put my finger on. This is a sweet shower gel, but not so sickly sweet you feel like you need candy rehab. The smell reminds me of the taste of the blackberries and cream gummy candies, and it's pretty damn good.
This product also happens to be in the same scent family as Sweetie Pie shower jelly and Reindeer rock soap, so if you are missing those products during the year (Sweetie Pie is being discontinued and Reindeer Rock is strictly Christmas) then this should help you satisfy that craving. I love this shower cream and all it's pinky goodness. I use it if I need a pick me up and I really do feel a lot better. I will most definitely be repurchasing it!!
