I love MAC lipsticks. I think the way they look on is absolutely flawless, and their pigmentation is perfect. I'm not a big fan of the Retro Mattes, as I find them quite drying and difficult to apply, though the regular Matte range are great and a lot easier to apply. Overall, MAC lipsticks are perfect in my opinion if you want a statement lip colour!

Tips: I would highly suggest wearing lip liner with MAC lipsticks as it helps them to last a lot longer :)
I own pure heroine and i think it is a lovely colour. suits fair skin tones well and has a nice texture.
Tips: line lips with a darker purple liner for real effect
Initially starting with Mac I was really into the bright shades. But after becoming kind of obsessed with the nude looks and everyday color influenced for me by Kylie Jenner, I tried finding shades similar. I started off with "Brave" which is Satin, this was like my fav shade for ages and the only lip colour I wore, it has subtle hints of pink but then that nude base. It’s so good for everyday but still eye catching. Keep in mind this is such a popular color and when going into mac recently to get a new one they had completely run out, so that’s when I got on to "Velvet Teddy", which is matte. The colour is has a nude brown base with hints of peach. I love this color and it go’s so well with my dark features, I’ve had a lot of compliments and am often asked for the name. Its a good everyday shade and will be perfect for the upcoming winter season. My last favorite everyday shade would be "shanghai spice" which is crème sheen and the color is a nude peach. I love this one, as it is a glossy option to the ones suggested above. P.S "Kinda Sexy" is another must have similar to the above ones and is another matte option. I definitely recommend these colors they are a must in your Mac Collection. X
Tips: Definitely use a lip conditioner or lip gloss to insure the lips are hydrated. I always apply a Nude lip gloss before putting on "Velvet Teddy", "Brave" and "Kinda Sexy"
I have tried and own are wide range of mac lipsticks I have to say hand on the level of quality is of an impeccable standard throughout the extensive range of lipsticks. One of my favourite things about the MAC lipsticks in particular is the smell as strange as it sounds the smell of this lipsticks remind me of summer they have slight coconut scent to them but it is not at all overpowering. The lipsticks apply so smoothly and are extremely pigmented. A downfall I would say MAC lipsticks have is that darker colours such as red (ruby woo) in particular have a tendency to bleed and move on the lips, however they are still very long wearing and I do not find myself have to touch up my lipstick very often. Overall I would say MAC lipsticks are an excellent product.
Tips: Tips I would give for wearing MAC lipsticks would be to moisturize your lips with a lip balm before hand and they can sometimes cling to the dry skin on your lip. Another tip I would give would be to wear a lip liner when wearing a darker colour to avoid any bleeding and feathering of the lipstick.
i would definitely recommend these lipsticks. they are incredibly pigmented and the colour is true to what is seen in the bullet. for the price, i would use them as more of a special occasion lipstick but the colour selection is extremely varied and constantly being updated to cater for any kind of look. the formula is super creamy and easy to apply, the only one that takes a little extra effort would be the matte shades.
Tips: use a lip liner for extra neatness and use lip balm before hand especially for matte shades to ensure ease of application.
At first I couldn't quite wrap my head around the idea of spending $40 on a lipstick...until I popped into smith &caugheys; and visited the MAC counter. I was so overwhelmed by the different shades and types so I asked for help. One of the make up artists then found my perfect match which happened to be the matte shade- Diva. I love how long the shades stay on my lips, and a little goes a long way. You really don't have to slather it on for a decent colour pay off. I highly recommend their matte shades. Only issue is that the matte shades can dry out your lips. Make sure to apply lip balm or lip primer well ahead.
Tips: You can dab a little onto your lips for more of a lip stain look as opposed to a bold lip for a daytime look
I need them all NOW! I only have a handful of shades and only one doesn't get regular wear (Heroine). My favourite is Flat out Fabulous in the Retro matte formula. It lasts forever but is a bit drying. MAC is the home of some cult colours. Rebel is amazing - but some others such as Please Me and Brave are equally amazing. And then there is the staple matte Russian Red. You cannot go wrong with a MAC lipstick. Probably the largest range of colours and finishes and I'm yet to find a dud.
Tips: If you're dipping your toes into the MAC lipstick pool for the first time - try the Viva Glam colours - as they're charity lipsticks, they're designed to suit most skin colours :)
If you had told me a few years ago that I would spend $40 on a lipstick and not feel guilty about it - I would totally be scoffing and rolling my eyes. MAC lipsticks have totally changed my lip game for sure.
I don't have many, only three, but the ones that I do have - Ruby Woo, Heroine and Viva Glam III are total perfection.
All three are different finishes - Retro Matte, Matte and Satin - so I was expecting variations in quality.. but boy was I wrong! Each of them are super pigmented and surprising (well, surprising for the retro matte) super moisturising.
They are all incredibly pigmented, and last for most of the day. I may need to touch up just after lunch, but that is all that I would need.
Normally I don't pay attention to the scents of lipsticks, but this is pretty awesome. It has a sweet vanilla scent - which is rad because I ADORE vanilla. It's not off putting at all.
MAC nails their packaging. It's sleek and easy to identify, you could call it iconic! I can easily find my lipsticks at the bottom of my handbag because their shape is like no other! They are easy to carry and to store because of this as well.
Overall, I'm happy that I've got this slow-growing addiction. I can't wait to add more to my collection!
Tips: Don't wait as long as I did - go to your nearest counter now!
I used to hate mac lipstick until I found the right lipstick formula for me. I found many formulas drying and didn't last well until I tried the amplifed range. This formula is to die for so hydrating and long lasting colour. They have heaps of pretty colours my personal favourite are 'up the amp' and 'chatterbox'
Tips: Go to a mac counter and try out the different formulas. Maybe even go on several days and leave wearing a different formula each time to see whats the best for you.
Also pretty much anyone can wear any colour so don't shy away from any colour, if you've got the confidence you will suit every colour!!
Sigh.
MAC seriously does the greatest lipsticks! It's so hard to pick favourites and so hard to refrain from buying every single one.
Two of my favourites are Cherish (Satin) and Girl About Town (Amplified).
Cherish is a perfect nude (and totally underrated) that glides on creamy, doesn't emphasise dry lips, and wears really well throughout the day. It's easy to pop a lip balm over, or a gloss over the top, and sometimes I mix this with a pink to make a pinker nude, as this is more of a true nude.
Girl About Town, oh my where do I start! The brightest of bright pinks but without the neon factor. It's on the slightly darker spectrum of bright pink and is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately mine got left in the car on a hot day and all melted to one side so I have to use a lip brush to apply but this does apply well straight from the tube for such a bright colour. I always get compliments when I wear this and it suits such a huge range of skin tones.
Every single person can find a MAC lipstick shade they love. The variety is huge and the quality never disappoints.
Tips: Mix colours! There are a few shades I haven't bothered buying because I can create them perfectly by mixing two shades I already have. Don't be afraid to play around!
