MAC Lipstick Review

I am the biggest fan of mac lipsticks! The pigmentation and lasting power of these powerful tubes are no doubt some of the best! I have a ever growing collection of 15 and have many standouts I still have to grab.

My favourite finish would have to be cream sheen on days where I'm going for a minimal makeup look. For a stand out colour I believe the retro mattes and amplified formulas are un beatable.

The lipsticks cost $40 each- which is quite pricy but for the quality I think its worth it. I do have to say there are many comparable affordable dupes that can be found meaning you don't have to pay such a price for a great lipstick.

I will forever be a lover of these lipsticks and will continue to re purchase!

I do think MAC is very expensive, however all products in the entire range that I have ever used, are far superior to other make up brands. The MAC lipsticks (I have tried satin and Cremesheen Pearl) are fab! Long wear, beautiful colour and doesnt rub off onto clothing, cups and hands. Feels nice on the lips too. And who doesnt like pulling out the MAC brand from their make up bay anyway?!

Im newly converted to Mac lipstick but now I am a true lover. What I love most about Mac lipsticks is they stay on for hours. First one I tried was Lady Danger and hours later caught my reflection and was shocked. Was not expecting my lipstick to look like it had just been applied. Since then ive invested in a few others as the shades available are awesome. I use full sized for my self and sample size in my kit.

After hearing all the fuss and hype about MAC lippies, it was only a matter of time before I buckled and bought one. I purchased it on sale, which was a huge bonus as the RRP is pretty steep for a lippy.

The colour I have is Candy Yum Yum. It's a bright, bright candy pink in a Matte formula.

Now, I love the colour; it's flamboyant and everything I'm drawn to in a lipstick shade. I'm a pink fan through and through, so it's perfect in that sense.

Where I am on the fence is the formula. When I apply it, I find that it's a mix of sheer and opaque - i.e it's an uneven finish. The matte-ness makes it quite dry, and it tends to give a 'cracked' appearance.

Now, I DO have drier lips than most, so this could be exasperating the effect, but in all honesty, compared to some other cheaper brands of mattes I have, I did expect more from the famous MAC.

I have not given up on it, however! It's just a little bit more high-maintenance to wear, so I need to prep and take a bit more care with it.

I would definitely purchase another MAC lipstick, but I think I'll avoid their Matte's. (Haha, depending on the colour. Colour comes first - right ladies?)

I do love my MAC lipsticks but feel that some are better than others in terms of pigmentation and wear-time. They are generally amazing though so if someone has never tried a lipstick by MAC I'd say definitely give it a go :) Love the packaging also.

i have the matte mac lipstick in cyber and though i feel uncomfortable wearing such dark colour normally find this lipstick incredibly wearable. when worn with lipliner it lasts hours before having to be reapplied. its staying power is really something special. it is a very moisturising formula and does not dry out my lips at all. overall an extremely good lipstick and well worth the price.

I never fully understood what people meant when they only ever used MAC lipsticks until I tried them for myself. I will never use another product again. The colour lasts way longer than most other lipsticks and in that it is great value for money. They smell luscious and are packaged in sleek black packaging. There is always a tone of colour for everyone, especially when colour is matched by one of the people instore. They are easy to apply and my lips never dry out. I will keep on buying these time and time again.

I was so nervous walking out of the MAC counter with this shade, it's extremely 'out there' and something I would never usually go for!

The finish is Matte, although slightly drying, not unbearable at all - I usually just wear a lipbalm underneath.

The colour is literally the most gorgeous vibrant bright pink ever! Definiently stands out and gives me a lot more confidence (which I expected it to do the exact opposite). This lipstick has amazing lasting power also.

I have blue eyes and fair skin and it complements them both perfectly. Also with such a bright lip you can go lighter on the eye make up and look perfectly put together :)

Every time I walk past my daughters bedroom, I sneak in and use her Shanghai Spice lipstick by MAC! I just can't help myself, one of the best things about MAC lipsticks is they smell like vanilla, yum! She would be horrified if she realized, grocery shopping, going for a walk, and even a Sunday drive, were all completed with my lips looking stunning in Shanghai Spice! The formula is smooth, it stays on forever! Shanghai Spice is a beautiful summer coral colour, with a peachy glow. Go get one!
