I am a HUGE fan of MAC lipsticks. A HUGE fan, ok? I can honestly say that I have never, ever been unhappy with any lipstick that I have purchased from MAC. The mattes are MATTE and long-lasting, the lustres and satins are gorgeous, the cremesheens are awesome. As long as you are clear about the effect you want and the tone and colour you are after I don't think you will walk away from any MAC counter or store unhappy with your lipstick purchase.

Tips: Buy them ALL. Use the ALL. Love them ALL. Also, if going for long-lasting with a matte finish (any lipstick) blot with a tissue, pat over a light layer of translucent setting powder, and reapply. Boom. For long-lasting with a glossy finish, see process above and throw on a lip gloss of your choice. All love xxx
I love the amazing range of colours MAC has in its lipsticks, and they apply really really nicely. I often get dry lips, but this lipstick did not dry my lips out and moisturizing and exfoliating my lips beforehand really helped it to go on nice and smoothly. I still have a really nice bold red MAC lipstick which I bring out on special occasions if I feel particularly daring, and when I do it often becomes a topic of conversation.
Tips: To get more definition, apply first with a lip brush- especially if you want to make your cupid's bow look on point!
This was my first time M.A.C lipstick purchase and I am in love! such a nice shade for all skin tones and glides on so smoothly. As it is a satin finish is isn't drying, and feels nice on the lips. It is highly complimentary on my fair skin tone and has long lasting power. Definitely worth the money.
Tips: For a more precise look, use a lip brush to create sharper edges :)
I own many lipsticks from MAC including cherish, up the amp, candy yum yum, pink plaid, please me and girl about town. these are in a range of finishes including satin, matte and amplified. i like them all, they are worth the price. the matte finishes are very long lasting and a little drying. the satin finishes are more creamy and moisturising. there are so many amazing colours! next i want to try more nice colours such as velvet teddy.
Tips: apply, then blot with tissue and apply again for longer lasting wear.
I am not surprised that this has been voted the "best lipstick" in the Beauty Awards - MAC lipsticks are definitely my favourite.
The are long lasting and really smooth/creamy to apply. They are quite moisturising and do not have a sticky feeling - I actually forget I have lipstick on. They are tasteless and have a very faint vanillary scent.
They have a great range of colours and finishes. You can also mix MAC lipstick shades to create your own custom shade.
I wish the lipsticks weren't so expensive in NZ, but I stocked up on a recent trip to the US instead.
Tips: I highly recommend getting your makeup done by a MAC assistant as they can suggest the best shades for you.
I've never been a huge lipstick wearer before I was gifted a M.A.C lipstick. Every other previous lipstick I tried would bleed out (with and without lip liners). My M.A.C lipstick is from the Satin range and I've never had a problem with it whatsoever! It glides on and stays put without drying out your lips and you can get a good few hours wear out of it before reapplying. Please note - I have never as of yet worn any lip liner under my M.A.C lipstick so I can say any lipstick from the Satin range is really reliable even just by itself! It's definitely worth spending the extra $$ to get a good quality lipstick in my opinion - you won't regret it!
Tips: Unless you know exactly what you're looking for, it's best to ask a trained M.A.C salesperson to help you choose the range and colour that would best suit you and your needs :)
I started to get into lipstick not to long ago and when I used this lipstick it was amazing. It was smooth going on and it seemed to last me all day. Plus I love the variety of colors to choose from as well as the pops of colors they have.
I always struggle to get a super pigmented lipstick that stays on for a decent amount of time. I recently purchased just a standard Mac lipstic in the shade heroine and me being me assumed it would last a few hours out on the town so I put it in my bag go touch ups... I put about 3 Layers on before I went out and didn't have to touch it up once in the 5 hours I was out and when I got home it still looked amazing and look the same as when I applied it!!
Tips: Exfoliate your lips or use a lip peel then apply lip balm 20 mins before applying your lipstick just to ensure your lips are smooth and moisturised and not all dryer out
I absolutely love MAC lippies. They are one of my favourites to use. The colour tange is Quite big and they have a lipstick for everyone. Definitely recommend these lipsticks.
Tips: The matte and retro matte finish ones are amazing. My all tome favourite is 'flat out fab' which is a retro matte finish.
I'm rather new to the matte lipstick game, and when I found this colour I fell in love. It's so soft, and feminine and looks good as a day lippy as well as night. I've worn it as a bridesmaid and to work. What I love most about this one is I don't necessarily need a lip liner to wear it!
Tips: Use chapstick a few hours or the night before applying this baby, helps calm down any flaky skin on the lips as its a matte lipstick so it shows all the cracks.
