This is my favourite make up item ever! It gives me anxiety when I go below a quatre of the tube left.. A little goes a long way with this. Its so hydrating and holds your make up for a good 8 hours looking fresh.

Tips: Squueze gently! A little is more than enough!
I purchased this last year after hearing Shaaanxo rave about it. I am a matte girl through and through but this has started getting me into the dewy look. I like to mix it with foundation and it really does illuminate the whole face. I have also tried wearing it over my moisturiser on non makeup days for a glow, but didn't find this worked as well.
Tips: I believe Mac also sell a travel version, so you may want to buy this to try before buying the big tube,
I bought this for the first time recently and I have mature (47yrs) skin. Although it is upper end price wise, what you spend on the Strobe cream, you save on the decreased amount of foundation you will need to apply. My skin is normal to dry and this product is simply superb for it! I have used it under foundation with full coverage as well as under BB Cream and I have to say that both times it has wowed me with a fresh, dewy look to my skin and makes me feel younger! I apply it with a brush for hygiene reasons as well as making it go a little further. I definitely rate this product as 10/10 and will definitely be purchasing it again once this tube is used up.
Tips: Apply onto slightly damp skin and it goes even further!
I use this every day, even if I'm not wearing make up i put it on after moisturizer to make my skin look fresh and vibrant. It really illuminates the skin and brightens your whole face! When wearing it with foundation it just illuminates from beneath the foundation and still brightens your look a lot. It's perfect for all ages, my mum loves this product too! It almost looks like pearls when its on your hand and then when rubbed into your skin it creates a dewey base or healthy glow. DEFINITLY worth the price tag there is no product quite like this! Its a beautiful creamy texture and quite thick so no product is wasted, and a little goes a long way!
Tips: Go to MAC and rub a little bit on your hand, there is no way you won't buy it when you see it for yourself!
I really love this product! I bought it without really knowing too much about it but it applies so smoothly and has a beautiful pearl sheen that leaves you glowing but not sparkly. My foundation applies really well on top of it also and seems to last really well. I'd recommend this product :)
Tips: A little goes a long way :) Let it dry completely before applying your foundation then set with a setting spray fror optimum results.
If you want beautiful dewy looking skin, then this is the product for you.
I use my maybelline baby skin primer first because my pores are ridiculously large and my makeup tends to sink into them making it look absolutely dreadful. I then go over top with my strobe cream (I let my baby skin primer sit for a while before I add the strobe cream). It leaves a beautiful dewy feeling to my skin. It hydrates it and preps it perfectly for the best dewy finish.
My makeup applies so easily with this strobe cream. It's easy to blend out and doesn't make it look cakey. It makes my skin look refreshed and hydrated and it adds a really beautiful glow to my skin. I love the way it makes my skin feel. It's not a heavy feeling you sometimes get with moisturiser. (I only mention that because it is quite thick and the consistency is very much like a normal moisturiser). It actually feels amazing on the skin. It's the only primer I've come across that doesn't need a dewy setting spray. Your makeup will always look beautiful and dewy with MAC's strobe cream. And it helps my makeup last alot longer too which is awesome.
If you can't get your hands on it, they say that the loreal lumi magique is the perfect dupe for this product. Which I absolutely have to agree with. The only real difference I've noticed between these products is the consistency. Mac is slightly more cream based and the Loreal one has more of a runny consistency to it.
I am so glad that I managed to get this as a trial size before I brought into the hype surrounding this strobe cream. Actually had 2 trial sized, 1 I purchased and another as a free sample. So I really gave this a try but still failed to fall in love with it, or actually able to get by with it.
Packaging, of the sample these came in a sized to go tube of opaque pearl white tube with black screw off lid and the famous MAC logo detailing in black print. The tube was the size of my palm and I was able to apply to my face in it's entirety for 4-6 applications.
Formula, the cream is a slightly thicker than normal day cream with a soft opal sheen to it with a pearly white, cream and pink beaming through the cream, just a subtle nod to a shimmer but nothing too over the top like a glitter infusion. A small amount covers my rather chunky round face so it goes a long way, it seems to expand with the warmth of your hands as you apply. There is no initial problems with the cream, no fragrance or sticky mess upon your hands.
Once applied to the face though, things start to happen. Number 1 having a pale face to begin with then adding a cream designed to illuminate and bring a glow to it, turns you into a ghost! My skin had a soft veil of glow that as I rubbed became more apparent and so did the texture change form a nice massage able cream to a sticky, tacky glop!
Once applied makeup my concealer was forever running and my foundation finish just looked patchy. I appeared to be 3 shades lighter so transparent and even after applying colour I still remained looking sickly. This might work for those who have a darker complexion but for me it was a big fat no go! The change in texture upon my face I chalk up to my skin type of having oily areas and dry areas, the cream must have been reacting with my oils and creating the tacky surface and then not hydrating the dry bits left my foundation patchy.
Wouldn't purchase the full size and don't see the hype in the product to be completely honest. Maybe I had too high of hopes.
I'm kind of confused about how you're supposed to use this product!
It's too lightweight to be a moisturizer and doesn't have any SPF but it's quite moisturizing for a primer and make me a bit greasy?
I've mixed a bit with a heavier coverage foundation to help sheer it out and add some glow and it works quite well like that but I can't help but think I'm missing the point.
I am going to use it again because I really like the fresh smell and it does feel nice on the skin. Think I just need to research how to use it a bit more to understand the hype!
MAC's Strobe Cream has so much hype about it but I had always dismissed it as something that would not be suitable for my oily skin. Then when my skin began to dry up and look flat and dull, I decided to try out a travel size of the product to see if I liked it before taking the plunge.
Strobe cream pretty much just looks like a moisturiser, one that smells nice but pretty unspectactular given the fanfare, I was expecting something with a more noticeable sheen.
This goes on like a silky moisturiser, leaving the skin feeling and looking soft and dewy. It took me a bit of playing around to find out how to use this for me, unlike most products it's really vague about when you apply it, from the description it sounds more like a skincare product but I only use this when wearing full makeup.
I apply a small amount of this using my fingers after primer, leaving it to sink in a little bit before applying foundation on top of it. I find this helps bring a bit more life into my makeup, I normally wear full-coverage foundation and by applying Strobe Cream first my makeup has more dimension.
Tips: When wearing this I use a sheer instead of heavy powder as anything heavy just mattifies the effect.
I don’t really get this product. Is it moisturiser or luminiser? Or is it both? Looking on the Mac website I was still none the wiser. So when I got a deluxe mini of this in a Mecca loop box I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. I’m still not sure after using it. I was hoping it would do for no make up days but I find this a bit much to use alongside my sunscreen so it has just languished in my bathroom cabinet. It tends to make my look greasy (I have normal skin) rather than glossy I don’t get the hype with this so I wouldn’t purchase it.
