MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer Review

I was impressed with this product. I was intentionally seeking out a concealer with great coverage for concealing acne and blemishes.

PROS: The formula is really creamy and blend-able so it was easy to pick up on a brush or finger,

The moment you applied it, it was immediately opaque, no need to build the product. Even when I blended it out, it still blended like a dream.

I used a fluffy brush to blend it out and it blended so seamlessly onto the skin... I really loved that about this product because when you're covering blemishes and acne, especially when it's raised, taking away the redness it a plus but often the product, because it's so much thicker then your average concealer or foundation it tends to sit around the acne/blemish and look quite cakey... almost making the appearance of the blemish worse but you don't have this problem at all with this concealer.

It is also incredibly long-wearing, tried and tested when I used it on my sister-in-law for her wedding and it stayed in place all day and night without a touch up... I was really impressed!

CONS: I truly don't have any cons for this product at this stage!

CONCLUSION: This is a great concealer for covering blemishes/acne... you can't go wrong if that is what you're looking for in a concealer (vs. concealing/brightening the under eyes - I certainly wouldn't use this product for that as it's a bit thicker so you would likely find it creases).

I'm a MAC addict. I can admit that. When my skin went bad for a period the first place I looked for a new concealer was MAC. I have tried a few of the creamy ones before so when I wanted to try something else they pointed me in the direction of this. I picked this up in NW15 which is a fantastic shade for covering my spots (but not quite bright enough for under the eyes).

The packaging is quite simple, it is incredibly similar to to the eyeshadow packaging. A small black pot, it has a clear lid so you can tell the difference between it and the eyeshadows. It doesn't feel very high-end other than the MAC logo on the top of the packaging.

The product itself I like to use with my finger, because it is so creamy it blends in much better with using the heat in your fingers. It does seem to go on quite thickly, but I use a brush to go around the edges to make it blend in with the skin. This stuff is full coverage and I love that. I find on most days my foundation does the trick at covering most spots. But on the days when you have a real spot that needs covering this does the trick every single time. It also sticks around all day! I do powder over it in the morning but that is all I do. It lasts for a long time as well as you only use a little each time, and I find it a lot more hygienic than concealers in tubes with doe foot applicators.

This concealer lasts a very longtime so is worth the price. Applied with a brush you do have to use quite a bit to get more of a thicker coverage. I used it under my eyes (I have dark under eyes) and to cover my blemises/scars on my face. Does the trick but wouldn't use it again as I was recently introduced to the MAC concealer palette which I found had better coverage.

This is a really good concealer! I use it to cover bad blemishes as it matches my yellow undertones. The coverage is really good, I use a real techniques concealer brush to apply it or if I'm lazy I'll use a finger which also works really nicely to warm up the product and blend it out. Its very buildable, but quite thick so I wouldn't recommend it under the eyes. Overall I've tried nicer concealers and use this for really bad skin days, as it doesn't budge at all through out the day. But if you want to splurge and cant find a concealer that matches you at the supermarket I would recommend this one :)

The product works to cover imperfections but unfortunately it broke me out a ton. It's also a firmer texture than I like. Good colour range though and did a good job concealing.

I love using a cream concealer to cover acne, and this one has to be one of my faves.

I personally have it in one of the palettes, so I have 6 colours total. It normally comes in a small black pot and is available in a huge range of colours.

For covering acne, I like to use this on a fine brush, gently blending the edges. Because this product has such high coverage, it does a great job at disguising acne. Due to the pigment, it also works well to hide redness although I like to apply it onto red areas with my fingers so the warmth can help it melt into my skin.

I also have some of the corrector shades of this formula. Due to the emollient nature of this concealer, I like to reserve them for when my under eyes are feeling particularly dry, otherwise I find they have a tendency to settle into my fine lines. Otherwise it does have reasonably good longevity. Overall its a great cream formula, although I do tend to favor more traditional liquid concealers

Beautiful light weight concealer that covers redness and dark circles. Topped with my BB cream this is my new go to beauty secret.

Perfect for full coverage makeup. Very good quality. Has always looked best for me under the estee lauder idealist 'Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher'.

Made my dry areas look much fresher with full coverage makeup.

This is one of those products that I use every single day. The shade I have is slightly orange based which helps combat the dark circles under my eyes. I love that concealer is buildable so I can use as little or as much as required depending on how bad my circles are. The creamy formula blends into my skin without creasing throughout the day. I find it applies better when warmed between the fingers or when mixed with a very tiny amount of my smash box primer oil. I always highlight on top of this to cover the its orange tone and to brighten up my eyes. A little also goes a long way too so even though it may seem a bit pricey for this small tub, its well worth it!

I currently use the water weight foundation in shade NW13 so I wanted something lighter than this for concealing. Mac make a number of good concealers but this one this one has a number of lighter shades so I chose this as it comes in the shade NW10 which is prefect for my fair skin.

The jar is small and portable with a clear flip top lid. The consistency of the concealer is creamy and very blend-able. I normally apply using a small concealer brush, It doesn't take much to blend and doesn't crease into fine lines. I found the coverage very good and long lasting throughout the day. It conceals redness in my checks and also helped reduced the appearance of pimples.

I highly recommended this concealer not only for shade selection but think that it will last a long time as a little goes a long way.
