After having received my NZ Brands box and really enjoying all of the natural ingredient aspects of most of the products I made a conscious decision to look for an eye make up remover that had really good ingredients. To be honest this was the only one in the shop with the above and I really like oils so I thought I would give it a try.
The bottle is quite small, only 60ml's but I've had it a few weeks now and it seems to be lasting well. The oil itself is quite thick and it spreads so I found that you don't need to use a lot. I found the best way to use it is to press on my lashes for a few seconds to soften my waterproof mascara and then wipe off. The thickness and oiliness of the product meant that I didn't get any eye irritation which I love. I liked the fact that the oil was gentle but there was quite a lot of residue afterwards so I had to make sure that I either washed my face after or used a toner to wipe it off. The packaging is simple and leak proof (great for an oil!), the small bottle also means it's great for travelling with. With it's ingredients including eyebright to minimise puffiness, sweet almond oil to nourish and organic white tea to reduce visible signs of ageing it definitely hit my 'natural ingredients' brief.
I like this eye makeup remover it's natural and conditions your lashes and it doesn't dry out the skin around your eyes like some eye makeup removers. I bought this one because I was going for organic and natural products when I was replacing skincare that had run out. The cons are it's expensive and it doesn't remove mascara as easily as some other cheaper ones I've used. I like the design of the bottle as it has that luxury look to it and it has a leak proof top. You can control how much you want to have on a cotton pad so there no product wastage. Even though the bottle is just 60mls it has lasted me a long time and I would consider repurchasing but I would probably look into how efficient other natural eye makeup removers are first. If you don't wear heavy eye makeup and you like a natural eye makeup remover and don't mind spending a bit more this might be for you. I did test how it compared to coconut oil for removing eye makeup and this one removed my eye makeup a lot more easily.
Tips: When I remove my eye makeup before bed I like to leave this on my eye area after wiping off the makeup so the eye makeup remover can break down whatever the cotton pad didn't wipe off plus it conditions my lashes. Then when I wash my face in the shower whatever eye makeup is left behind gets washed off when I wash my face.
