So I apply makeup daily (foundation, concealer, powder foundation, mascara) and work 10am-4pm just to get an idea of how long I've worn makeup and how they worked. So if you have a kid and you've been in a hurry to get them all to bed and yourself at the end of a long day and just grab your childs wipes then these are exactly that. They work exactly the same as my sons cheap wipes from the supermarket but smell stronger.
They have a strong scent of aloe Vera. I don't favour strong scented wipes especially when they're that close to my face. Or maybe its me, ever since pregnancy my hormones have been over powering. They didn't remove my waterproof mascara either, and I rubbed my lashes too. Or maybe I didn't rub hard enough. But it seems they might've worked on normal mascara as they were decently thick wipes. It didn't moisturise my skin, instead it dried it out more than what my sons wipes do. I have dry skin anyway. Which is odd since after you wipe your makeup off your face feels wet as though it'd soak in and moisturise it. The wipes need to be resealed completely otherwise the top dries out as the sticky tab top doesn't always stay stuck down.
On a positive note my skin didn't break out from them. My skin cleared up a little actually but I only had two or three pimples as it was so I don't know if it was just clearing up itself or if the wipes helped. And there's enough wipes for one a day for a week or more.
I wouldn't recommend it as my go to product. I'll stick to my body shop chamomile butter cleanser. But I probably will buy another pack just to give them another try and see if I got a dud batch or not.
I was really excited to try there as make up wipes that were both organic and for sensitive skin. Their claims about wiping off mascara were also exciting.
On opening the packet, I was pleased to see the flap immediately sealed back over the wipes, which prevented them from drying out, unlike some other make up wipes I've used. The packaging is also recyclable but is not able to be recycled with many NZ recyclers. With organic products, I also expect packaging that is a bit more enviromentally friendly.
The wipes themselves were thick and well sized, so I was happy with that. However they has a strong unpleasant citrus smell which made them unpleasant to use and actually felt quite chemically against the skin. So I would not reccommend them for sensitive skin when they felt quite harsh on non-sensitive skin.
In terms of their mascara claims, they did remove it quite well, but the harsh chemically feeling that the wipes gave was not worth using them near my eyes.
So sadly these wipes did not do what I hoped they would.
