The body sculptor comes in a box with a charging cable and maintenance / cleaning supplies. The instructions and precautions are all included on the box, with a QR code for more information.
It is easy to use and charges fairly quickly. All you need to do it apply moisturizer to the area, then turn it on, making sure all the settings are set to low. You glide it over the area using upwards motions and the suction and massaging rollers do all the work.
It was a bit awkward to use the first time, but once I got used to it, it was very easy to use. It sits nicely in the hand and the controls are very responsive. The release button is big and easy to locate quickly if you need to break the suction.
I thought it may become a chore to use, but it was quiet meditative to relaxing to use (especially with the massaging rollers) so I found myself looking forward to using it.
The device charged quickly. The noise level while using was moderate. It didn't take long to notice results. My skin was much smoother to touch and more even in appearance. It definitely had a toning effect on those top layers of fat.
The device promises increased skin firmness and smoothness in 5 minutes a day. It definitely delivered that, I'm really happy with the results.
I'll just start by saying I don't think two weeks is long enough to really assess the effectiveness of the Manicare Firming Body Sculptor. Even all the promo material on the box and online talks about results over 8 weeks. So my aim is to keep using it and maybe come back and write another review.
I also decided to only focus on one leg rather than both so I had something to provide a comparison.
Now to the actual review.
When the box turned up I assembled this space age looking thing wondering what the hell I'd let myself in for! I put it on charge overnight although only 3 hours is needed apparently. (and I haven't had to recharge it since).
I was expecting more in the way of instructions. There wasn't even a booklet or any diagrams. Just some very simple instructions on the box. So I figured it can't be that hard, just do what it says. But there's no real explanation of what either EMS or Lipo functions are there for and what to use each setting for. The descriptions on the box are very vague so I really just guessed at it. I wasn't even sure I was holding it the right way up. Or whether that even mattered.
After a few attempts just using the box instructions I decided to go and investigate the Manicare NZ website. Here I basically found the same info as was on the box but at least there was a video. And YAY! I was holding it the right way up.
I'm still not sure if I'm using it correctly though and there's some info that I'd like more of that I could probably find if I hunted on the internet long enough but it shouldn't be that hard.
What do you use the EMS and Lipo settings for and is one more important than the other? How do you combine them?
How big is "a target area" that you need to work on for 3-5 minutes? Is it literally following the same path for 3-5 minutes or can you cover a larger area like one whole thigh for that time?
Is there a better time of day to use it? Like after a shower, early morning or after exercise?
After two weeks there looks like there could be some improvement in skin tone, but like I said, I don't think it's long enough to really play proper judge and jury.
Tips: Watch the video on the website first.
