What an awesome little tool which is something different to the arsenal of tools I already own. Having recently tried cool sculpting I’ve have recently become interested in body tools not just face ones. Firstly this product is pretty reasonable, and with a reputable brand. The device itself appears and feels sturdy. I had to charge before first use, instructions were a little hard for me to understand and a few attempts with my skin sucked ensured! Once I had the hang of the device it felt pretty cool, more like a massage with suction - I haven’t let it sit on my skin for prolonged periods to see the damage this can cause. Def read the instructions where it notes to moisturise first! This makes things so much easier and helps cut the time and effort down hugely. I’m really trying to get in the habit of moisturising nightly and needing to use this device daily really helped. I have had this product just over 2 weeks so really not enough time to see if cellulite and firmness has changed. However I can already tell this product makes you feel like you are treating and taking time out for yourself. It’s a great massage and is definitely invigorating the skin. I will update if I notice cellulite reduction, however I feel this helps moisturiser sink in and absorb so is helping with moisture loss which will then help with a few of my other skin concerns being dryness, flaking and stretch marks and itching from the dryness. Id recommend this to just give it a go, there are so many facial products and not many for the body.

Reviews
I was lucky enough to be selected for the trial team for this product and excited to give it a go. The design is lightweight and easy to use and charge. I have only used the product on one leg (thigh and calf) so that I could see any discernable difference during the trial. When I first used it I did find it quite tricky to use as I had massaged lotion into my skin as required for the process and my hands were still slippery trying to grip and manoevre the handpiece, noted for future use to dry hands well before beginning.
The process is easy to follow, 3-5 minutes on each area, I did this for 5 days and then rested for 2 days.
To date, I have used the sculptor for two weeks and at this stage have not noticed any difference in the texture and appearance of the leg which has received treatment and the one which has not. However, it has only been two weeks, so I am certainly going to continue using the sculptor. The dimpling of my skin is no worse, so with continued treatment (and more intense treatment) I am hoping there will be a noticeable change over time.
I was really excited to try the Manicare Firming Body Sculptor as I have never had a salon grade device at home, and I am not someone who likes to spend money on going to a beauty salon. At the same time, I like to look healthy and fit, and the cellulite on my legs has been something that has been bugging me for many years. When I opened the packet I was impressed with how well made the Body Sculptor looks and feels, and it has a shape that makes it very comfortable to hold. What I did not like was that it came with very limited instructions, and this is my main reason for not giving it a higher rating. The box contained some items that were not described anywhere, and it took me a while to figure out that they must be little replacement filters that sit over the inlet of the vacuum pump. There is no guide as to when they should be changed. Also, the device has a switch on the side that can be moved between “1” and “2”, but there is no information what the switch is for. I tried to find out more by scanning the QR code on the box, hoping that it would take me to a manual for the device, but it only took me to a website with exactly the same information that is also printed on the box. For such a technical device I was very disappointed to get so little information on how to use it correctly. When I started using the Sculptor I started with both the EMS and the lipo setting on 1, as advised, but I could not feel anything. I increased the intensity over the next few days to a 3 for EMS and 2 for lipo, and the treatment duration for each area to 5 minutes. This gave me a treatment that feels like a “good workout”, and I will soon increase it a bit more. I will also try to find out what the 1/2 switch on the side of the device does. Maybe it makes more intensity levels available? However, the instructions on the internet say that the device has 5 EMS settings, and these are all accessible with the switch in the “1” setting. The EMS uses electrical impulses, and I can feel them make my muscles twitch, so they are surely strong enough. The advice is to use the device 5 days per week and have two rest days, and I have been sticking to this. I have only had the device for 2 weeks for this trial, and so far I cannot see any change in the firmness of my skin in the areas I have been treating. However, according to the website, the change observed by others was after 8 weeks, so I will keep going. My skin is definitely well moisturised as you use a lot of moisturiser with the Sculptor. The downside is that the Sculptor gets covered in moisturiser, and it has lots of hard to reach places that are impossible to clean. It came with a little brush, but this is not suitable for removing moisturiser from the device. If the Body Sculptor reduces my cellulite and makes my skin firmer I will change my rating, but right now I am not convinced by this device.
I'll just start by saying I don't think two weeks is long enough to really assess the effectiveness of the Manicare Firming Body Sculptor. Even all the promo material on the box and online talks about results over 8 weeks. So my aim is to keep using it and maybe come back and write another review.
I also decided to only focus on one leg rather than both so I had something to provide a comparison.
Now to the actual review.
When the box turned up I assembled this space age looking thing wondering what the hell I'd let myself in for! I put it on charge overnight although only 3 hours is needed apparently. (and I haven't had to recharge it since).
I was expecting more in the way of instructions. There wasn't even a booklet or any diagrams. Just some very simple instructions on the box. So I figured it can't be that hard, just do what it says. But there's no real explanation of what either EMS or Lipo functions are there for and what to use each setting for. The descriptions on the box are very vague so I really just guessed at it. I wasn't even sure I was holding it the right way up. Or whether that even mattered.
After a few attempts just using the box instructions I decided to go and investigate the Manicare NZ website. Here I basically found the same info as was on the box but at least there was a video. And YAY! I was holding it the right way up.
I'm still not sure if I'm using it correctly though and there's some info that I'd like more of that I could probably find if I hunted on the internet long enough but it shouldn't be that hard.
What do you use the EMS and Lipo settings for and is one more important than the other? How do you combine them?
How big is "a target area" that you need to work on for 3-5 minutes? Is it literally following the same path for 3-5 minutes or can you cover a larger area like one whole thigh for that time?
Is there a better time of day to use it? Like after a shower, early morning or after exercise?
After two weeks there looks like there could be some improvement in skin tone, but like I said, I don't think it's long enough to really play proper judge and jury.
Tips: Watch the video on the website first.
I was really excited to be selected to receive this product since i've battled cellulite for years and waited in anticipation for it to arrive!! Unfortunately when it did I hate to say I was very disappointed. I find it hurts!! I tried this on my legs and even on the lowest setting and using lots of moisturizer, I find when it really suctions on to your skin it literally causes pain. I was furiously hitting the release button to make it stop!! I tried two different moisturizers but that didn't make a difference. I also watched the video online to ensure I was using it correctly. My daughter also tried it but agreed with me that it is uncomfortable and painful. I cannot say if it would do as it says as it takes 8 weeks of using for the results to be seen apparently. Maybe for some people it will be the right tool, but unfortunately not for me :( Thank you for the opportunity to trial this though.
Tips: Use lots of moisturizer!!
Thanks BR for sending this product to me to trial and review, very excited to try this out!
I'm a mama of 2 and with that has come more than a few places to get firm and smooth!! The box it comes in includes the device, the attachment (cup and rollers), charging USB chord (no plug), a cleaning brush, tweezers and a small bag of replacement filters.
When I first opened the box I was a bit surprised to see there wasn't an operation manual. I'm assuming this is to save on waste - instructions are on the box - but in my personal opinion a lack of instructions. I have no idea where I'm meant to use the brush, I assume the tweezers are to replace the filters but at first when I saw the tweezers I thought they were for something completely different (and I still don't know if I'm wrong or right). The instructions are very basic, without any pictures or a booklet I've been unsure if I've been using it how I'm meant to.
What is clear on the box is that moisturiser should be applied before use - they use the term "generously". Generously means A LOT! The more you use, the easier it is for the cup and rollers to glide along your skin. I also had to reapply.
I found the device a little scary to use at first, a little bit painful but I’ve been slowly getting use to it. I haven’t increased the level (there are 5 levels of Electronic Muscle Stimulation and 3 levels of Lipo Vacuum Suction) – I’m still on level 1 for both, I don’t feel comfortable going up a level for the suction yet. Just as a side review – my husband used it and was very comfortable using this on his thighs at the highest levels on both, he loved it! At first I didn't know how to use it smoothly but with consistent use I've gotten to know which buttons to push to turn off quickly if needed, or to release the suction slightly, finding it much easier to glide.
I haven’t seen any noticeable results yet – but I’m not ruling out that I will see them. The box states that the clinically proven results are based on an 8 week lab study so based on that I’ve got a long way to go. The numbers are high – 100% of users achieved improvement in skin firmness and smoothness, and 95% of users felt their skin had improved overall. So I’m excited to see what the results are after 8 weeks of use. This is a long time however in my opinion so I guess it will come down to making sure I take 5 minutes a day (based on 5 days, 2 days rest as instructed) to do this.
Overall, I’m on the fence about it as it doesn’t feel the most comfortable, but at the same time I know I will get more and more comfortable with using it the more I use it and I’m excited about the clinical results and believe this will help with consistent use!
Tips: Apply and spread plenty of moisturiser (don't rub in) to ensure the device glides smoothly along your skin.
Now I don’t have really saggy skin, I would say my body skin is quite good for a 37 yo. I don’t work out, so I have a bit of body fat, but I use a body lotion on a daily basis, so my skin is pretty good. The device looks pretty awesome and impressive, and it indeed is quite cool to use. The suction of this device is really strong so you do need to use some power to move the device along the skin while it is sucking on your thighs! The roller gives my skin a massage and as I got used to the strength and motion, I got better at it. 3-5 mins a day really isn’t a lot to ask for, but don’t expect your dimples or cellulite to disappear because it won’t. The application of body lotion or body oil will smooth the skin and the massage will improve skin texture and remove water retention.
Tips: Remember to use a body lotion or better yet, a body oil. Once the device is vacuuming the skin, get it moving instead of sucking at one spot.
Starting with the good - I think the skin tone and minor imperfections got better over the week I tried this and it was easy to use. I’ll use it for a few more weeks to see if it helps any of the deeper lumps and bumps. Could’ve had better instructions in the box, in the end I found a video online showing how to use it. Initially I didn’t move it fast enough and my skin got quite red but it soon calmed down. I didn’t like where the handle was and ended up holding the head of the machine so it was easier to move up my leg. Hasn’t made any different to the deeper bumps and lumps yet, the box says noticeable difference in 8 weeks so there’s still time to see a difference in those. Also do listen to the instruction about using moisturiser, it helps move it along better.
Tips: Check out YouTube for how to use video
The first time I used the body firming sculptor, I obviously hadn’t taken in all the instructions. Consequently when I found the suction way too powerful on my leg, I couldn’t figured out how to release the suction and it was quite painful. Make sure you have a good look at the button you need to press if you make this same mistake. I also found it didn’t glide very easily with body moisturiser. I switched to body oil and that was much better. I used Surmanti Lime and Coconut oil and that was perfect and it smells delicious. You need to use the massager on each part of your body you want to target for 3-5 minutes per day, 5 days a week. That’s quite a time commitment if, like me, you have a few areas that need improving. I decided for the sake of this review, I would concentrate on the front and back of my legs and my bottom. I realised that I would probably go through a whole bottle of my expensive body oil, so I purchased a large bottle of very inexpensive baby oil and that works really well. It’s a little difficult to do this on some areas of your own body. It would actually work much better if you were able to lie down and have someone else use the massager on the back of your body. The product says you should see a difference after 8 weeks, so it’s perhaps a bit unfair to have to do a review so quickly on this kind of product. In the short period I’ve used the massager, I saw no noticeable difference in my cellulite, nor did my skin appear any firmer. Maybe someone under 50 might see better results. I did feel that my skin felt softer, but that could also be a result of massaging body oil into my skin every day. If you’re willing to take the time to use this product, I could see how it might work. Would I purchase it myself based on my very short trial? Probably not, but don’t let that discourage you from giving it a go if you feel you can devote the time to using it 5 days a week. I will actually carry on trialling it and if I see any improvement after a few weeks, I will definitely post an updated review.
Tips: Use body oil rather than body lotion. The massager glides over your skin much better with the oil.
I was very excited to try this machine. It arrived and looked very spaceage. Not a fan of the packaging and must admit it wouldn't have attracted me for the price it retails at. The box colour and graphics let it down. There was no instrcutions inside only on the back of the box. Once again thought this as odd for the price you are paying. Had to hang onto the box to keep checking instructions. These seemed a bit vague but once I figured it out all was good.Actually the machine is easy to use once you master it. Lets start with the application. You apply body lotion all over and then run the sculptor over it. You push upwards while rollers move across and suck up the skin towards the roller. My leg was very sore and it did hurt to use. Not an awful pain but tender. It just showed me where the worst of my cellulite is. So I massaged through this pain and it did seem to get easier with each roll. After a good five minutes of massaging my thigh I was left with a red leg. This fades quickly. So what were the results? As I had only just over a week to trial I didn't feel this was enough time to get visible result so I only used it on one leg. I used every day and really can't see any difference in my cellulite. I believe this will come and I am definitely going to keep going. My leg does feel smoother and softer. The biggest change is the pain. After the second use the pain of application on my leg disappeared. Previously my thighs do hurt in certain areas if knocked or rubbed on. I believe that this has started to break down the cellulite as this is not so apparent now. Will keep using as it is easy and I hope to see great results after a month of using.
Tips: Don't rub lotion on with hand you are going to hold machine with as it gets too slippery
