The manicare makeup removing towel is something that's out of the ordinary. I was really intrigued with this product as it claims to remove makeup just by adding water. Luckily, I was able to give this a go and see if it really works or not. To my surprise, it DOES work and the great thing is, you only clean your face with WATER (no harsh chemicals whatsoever!). Even though I'm one of those people who luckily has a not-so sensitive skin, I still prefer to use products with natural ingredients especially when it comes to cleansing my skin so for me, this product works wonders (and it could work well for people with sensitive skin too).
The product came in a travel-sized packaging in a clear pouch like a zip bag. The towel's in a pretty pink color and the texture is so soft! At first, I was a bit scared to use it but after feeling it's texture, it feels like one of those that you'll use for a baby's skin.
The packaging comes with instructions on how to use it. First step is to machine wash prior to use. For me, I skipped this step and just wet the towel to use but it might be best to follow this step as some lint came off the towel (I guess the purpose for washing it first is to get rid of this). The next steps are easy, you just soak a part of the towel, use it to clean your face, then viola! Your make up comes off! :)
On a day-to-day basis, I normally just put on some light coverage makeup with nude/brown shades. To test this towel a bit further, I used it after having a great night out in town. I went for a heavier look with smoky black eyes, dark red lipstick, and more coverage. To my surprise, it still works (but I had to cleanse my face a bit longer than usual).
With regards to how many days I used the towel before washing it again, it took me 4 days before I decided to machine wash the towel. I used up a quarter (like splitting it in 4 boxes) of the towel each day and didn't even manage to use up the whole space (as I don't have much to clean off a daily basis) but after 4 days, I feel like it would best to clean it rather than use it again. I washed the part of the towel I use each night with my body wash but not all the makeup residue comes off. To me personally, having to use a towel again and again where I see parts of it looking stained is a no-no so I had to clean it after using it a few times.
After machine wash, it's all clean and good to use again so I have no complaints about this.
Overall, I think this product is amazing. It does what it claims and it didn't harm my skin. It would save you a lot rather than having to buy makeup wipes and get new ones once they ran out. But for people who's not into putting effort on cleaning makeup products and prefers disposable ones, this would not suit them, as it would take a bit of care and effort to use this product and use it to it's full potential.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone but also would be depending on the person's preference for cleansing products.
I picked one of these up thinking it was a microfiber towel. Lesson 1, read the materials listed on the packet.
However while it looked like the microfiber cloth I had but wasn't, it did clean nearly as well. With lighter make up it wiped it away in seconds, with heavier make up (particularly around they eyes) a bit more rubbing and scrubbing is required.
All and all, the cloth did what it promised and perfermed how I hoped.
I also put mine in the washing machine nearly every night to remove the black eyeliner stains and they always come out properly.
Tips: Serveral of these types of cloths are useful.
