Manicare salon magnifying pore vacuum

I was very excited to receive the Manicare pore vacuum. My thoughts were to have a go on my son as well as myself. The packaging looked interesting with the girl colour of lavender. Very inviting. All the information was on the box so instructions weren’t on a sheet that you might loose. It seems quite comprehensive, how to download the site for the application to work. It’s very important to read the instructions correctly to to limit bruising on the face. The vacuum was easy to handle and fits my hand perfectly so ergonomic in that instance. After charging the vacuum I proceeded to try it on myself. The camera was great but a bit distracting as well. I was concentrating on the camera and managed to bruise my face slightly by not moving it smoothly and evenly over my face. Its suction levels were very strong, even the lowest was sucking my face into it. I swapped around nozzles to the small one to limit the suction, this did make a difference but with little results. I found it easier to use the mirror than the camera when operating on myself. I used it on my son, he didn’t enjoy it too much either. I did work well on his teenage face, and in his ears. It does state great for ear wax, it did unblock his ears and pull some wax out. I was surprised about the price point of $90 at my beauty department close to me. I was thinking it may have been a bit more expensive. If I had a choice of purchasing this or putting on a face mask. I’d choose the mask. It didn’t in my opinion work as well as claimed for the money. To get it to pull the blackheads out, then full vacuum would be necessary, which would be difficult to move over the skin. My son had the medium level on a moisturised warm skin and that was still difficult. It did pull quite a few out but was very uncomfortable for him. I do not recommend this product.

Tips: Open the pores on your face by warm wash or facecloths, this will improve the outcome, but don’t expect too much from this machine. Start with the lowest suction first and try out each nozzle to see the difference. The biggest thing is warm moisturised skin before using.

I’m Not Sold…

I was super excited to try this pore vacuum as I do have quite a few stubborn blackheads that I was keen to see the back of. Things didn’t start too well when the App wouldn’t work on my iPhone and I had to use hubby’s Android but I got there and the camera was all set up and ready. The camera is really good - so good it’s terrifying! You can certainly see all your congested pores and the dirt and grime that needs to be sucked away (yuk!). The disappointment then came when I discovered how difficult it is to actually vacuum your pores, even after steaming them open. I tried all of the nozzles but couldn’t seem to ‘easily’ (as the packet suggests) clear the congestion. There were a few blackheads removed (which is really satisfying to watch!) but for the most part I would have had to have gone over and over the same spot causing pain and skin damage. The tool doesn’t ‘glide’ over your skin as is insinuated so you have to be pretty careful to keep it moving - hubby had a go and ended up with a couple of bruises down the side of his nose….eek!! I felt anxiety testing this out as you are focusing on the camera and the super zoomed in view of your face so could easily be doing damage to your skin and not even notice til you looked in the mirror. I think the best attachment was probably the microdermabrasion fitting as it definitely removed dead skin, but my pores still remained clogged, so I’m not convinced by this products effectiveness. While it was fun to give it a whirl, I’m not sold and wouldn’t write home about it. I’ll leave it to the professionals I think

Tips: If you’re trying this out, definitely don’t linger too long, you’ll end up with hickey-like bruises on your face!

Tread carefully

I was really excited about this, like really. But now I’m a bit reluctant to use it again… it’s a VERY cool concept but after using it a few times I’m wondering if it’s the type of treatment maybe best left to the professionals. The unit itself is very cool, sleek and shiny and the instructions are all very easy to follow. It’s very interesting to be able to see your skin up close (kinda horrifying too) and the overall unit is very innovative but despite constantly moving the unit like it instructs you to do, I have small bruises (like a hickey!) on my chin where the skin must have been more susceptible and the suction grabbed. I have used a few times to really give it a good run for its money and despite following the instructions regarding preparing the skin I don’t seem to have been able to get the extractions promised. There are a variety of nozzles to use, each for a promised effect however I found these to be much of a muchness, with the dermabrasion one quite abrasive. The app is very easy to navigate and it’s super quick to connect the unit to your phone, I like that you don’t have to be in a mirror to use it and the built in lights are great. The camera on the unit is very high quality and I actually found it more useful to identify and remove stray hairs. It’s a great gimmick but I don’t think this will be one on high rotation in my house.

Tips: Use the lowest setting at the start then work your way up if you dare. Beware of it grabbing at your skin as the suction WILL leave you with hickeys!

Use with Caution

I was really excited to try this magnifying pore vacuum. I have combination skin and in the right (or wrong!) light I can see small blackheads have started showing on my cheeks. The Pore vacuum came in a box with a charger, spare rubber bits to hold the nozzles, and 3 different nozzles for different skin areas, and 1 for microdermabrasion. There were no instructions inside, just a quick start guide and tips on the box along with how to download the app. The Manicare Pore vacuum is really easy to set up and the app has step-by-step instructions on how to use it. At first, the suction doesn't seem very powerful but if you leave it too long in one spot you can see the skin turning red and small capillaries appearing. I used the gentlest nozzle and the lowest setting on my face. A small amount of debris came out especially around my nose but I wouldn't say it cleared my pores on the rest of my face and definitely did not budge any blackheads. I tried the other nozzles and tried turning up the suction but was afraid of damaging my skin. The magnification is amazing, however, and when I tried the pore vacuum on my back with the oval nozzle (for stubborn blackheads) and the highest suction I was able to remove some hard-to-reach blackheads. The camera and magnification let you see every imperfection. I could use the higher suction on my back because the skin is less delicate and it doesn't matter if it's red for a few days. I think this product would be better suited to teen skin or more congested skin than mine. I am in my 40s and have drier skin than in my 20s.

Tips: My biggest tip would be to keep moving the vacuum over your skin and don't leave it in one place for more than a couple of seconds to avoid skin damage. Also, use on clean, warm skin after a shower or wash to loosen up debris and open pores. My last tip is don't leave your Pore vacuum where your teenage boys or husband can get it! Mine were fascinated with the magnification and all three ended up looking rather bruised and spotty! Despite looking like he's been stung by bees now, my husband absolutely loves this skin tool.

Bruised my skin

I didn't like this product at all. I bought it after reading some positive reviews but was disappointed. I tried all three settings and stuck with the most gentle and still bruised my face (maybe my fault for leaving it in once place for more than a couple of seconds as it recommends) but it didn't clear out any of my pores. I watched with the camera on the app on my phone and could see areas with blackheads, but the vacuum literally didn't get one single blackhead out. Quite disappointing. I've since done some research on pore vacuums and have learnt that they might cause more damage than I realised re: broken capillaries etc so I won't be using mine again. I did like the camera feature though, to see my skin on a microscopic level. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum

I should start by saying that I might have had outsized expectations for this neat bit of tech! I tried this pore vacuum in two ways - firstly on my (problematic) t-zone, and secondly on my partner who sometimes deals with clogged pores on his back. Both ways saw some success, with some (bleugh!) removal of blackheads/general gunk. Though to be really honest, it wasn't as much or as noticeable as I had hoped! I might need to play around with some of the other nozzles and suction settings, but while this is an awesome concept, I'm not entirely convinced - yet! Things that I love about this particular model that are a bit different to others I've researched in the past are the magnifying camera (surprisingly satisfying, and actually quite helpful!) with it's accompanying app (super neat), and the different nozzles. I wasn't brave enough to try out the microdermabrasion one just yet, but the concept is intriguing! Overall - a cool product, but I might need some more practice before I see the results I was hoping to.

Tips: The oval tip is by far the most effective for the t-zone!

Fun device - you can see results!

I have combination skin and suffer from very stubborn blackheads around my nose, along with visible pores in my T-zone area. I've been a user of pore strips in the past, along with various spa treatments, but I've never used anything like the Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum before so I was excited to see what it could do. The vacuum itself has 3 suction level intensities – soft, normal and strong and it also comes with 4 different heads that can be interchanged – small circular, oval, large circular, and a microdermabrasion nozzle. I used all 4 of the nozzles and found them to be easy to interchange, and the availability of different suction intensities was great as I used different settings on my forehead and nose. The oval nozzle was my favourite attachment, as was the easiest to get in and around my nose where most of my blackheads are. The vacuum itself is charged with a USB charging cord, which easily plugged into my phone charger, and operating it was simple and easy with a push of the button to switch between intensities. I charged the device for the recommended 3 hours before my first use. There is also an app that can be downloaded and connected to the Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum, with pretty good camera quality. The device doesn’t come with a storage bag or pouch – so I will continue to store it in the plastic tray it came with. My skin felt less congested after use, and there was visible ‘gunk’ in the nozzle too, which was really pleasing to see. I made sure I had clean and hydrated skin before use and believe this gave me better results, and I was also conscious of keeping the device moving rather than stay in one spot for too long and risk pink or bruised skin. This is an easy-to-use compact device designed for anyone wanting to minimise the appearance of blackheads, and while it is a fun to use and does give some results, it didn’t remove all my stubborn nose blackheads. I will continue to use the Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum, and hope I continue to see improvements in my skin.

Tips: Start on the lowest setting, and keep the Vacuum moving to ensure you don't bruise your skin. Prepare for some downtime afterwards too, as I found my skin was a little pink following treatment.

Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum

The Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum is fantastic for anyone with blocked pores and blackheads that want to treat them at home.

My first impression was that I loved the packaging and the style of the pore vacuum. They have made this very simple to understand and use. All of the directions that are needed are clearly on the box. You simply charge up the device, add the app to your phone, and then decide on which vacuum head to use and then get to work clearing congested skin.

This amazing pore vacuum really managed to make me feel old! Talk about modern technology and all done at home. The pore vacuum connects to your phone so you get a really up-close view of your skin and everything that gets extracted from it! To be honest, normally I do love this kind of thing but even I was a bit grossed out to see all of my blackheads up close. Through the Manicare app, you can also take photos and videos of the pore vacuum in action. Of course, it is possible to use this device without connecting to your phone.

The pore vacuum comes with a variety of different heads. I used the microdermabrasion head as it has been some time since I have had microdermabrasion and my face was in need. This nozzle worked really well to remove dead skin. I didn't find that too many of my blackheads were extracted but I possibly also needed to use it slower over my skin. I also used the large circular nozzle over the parts of my face with blackheads. This did a fairly good job of extracting blackheads although it still left quite a few. I would think that over time the more stubborn ones will loosen and hopefully be removed. I also used both nozzles mostly on the slowest (of 3) functions. My husband also used it with slightly better results but he was much slower and had the setting higher.

A word of warning- make sure you follow the instructions! It is also a good idea to start off on the weaker suction and work up from there. My husband decided that he wanted to get out one particular blackhead from the side of my face and went over the area too many times and the next day I was left with a red patch. The rest of my face looked much smoother the following day.

Overall this is a great at-home pore vacuum! If you have congested skin then this would be a great item to purchase. With frequent use, your skin will be left less congested and glowing.

Tips: Do follow the directions and don't hold the pore vacuum in one place for too long.

Manicare Pore Vacuum

I'd never used a pore vacuum before so didn't really know what to expect. This comes with 4 different nozzles which is made of a hard plastic, I thought it would be silicone. Easy enough to put on and take off. I downloaded the app so I was able to use the camera feature which makes things so much easier to see. I never knew how much oil was on my face but you can see that all through the camera. I tried the normal setting first, the more intense setting left bruises all over my face even though I did not leave it in place for more than 3 seconds. That was the only downside to this product. It did however remove blackheads around my nose and chin. Because of the shape of my nose it didn't seem to get much suction to that as it's not flat. And some places hurt more than others. But overall I will continue to use this every so often when needed.

Tips: Open your pores up first with a hot face towel, steamer or warm water. Don't stay in the same place for more than 3 seconds as can lead to bruising and only go in a downwards motion.

Dyson for your pores

The product does what it claims to do - visibly clear congested skin with ease. Very satisfying to watch blackheads and sebum being sucked out of the pores! Had some problems connecting my phone to the device initially, but easy to use once got the connections sorted. The suction nozzle is too large for some certain angles to create seal Eg bridge and tip or nose, but works well for most areas.

Tips: 1) Exfoliate and steam face prior to using device. 2) Start with the lowest setting then slowly increase suction strength only if required, the lowest setting is already very strong. 3) Keep gliding over skin and don’t stop in same spot for more than a couple of seconds, otherwise it can create bruising.
