The Manicare Salon Magnifying Pore Vacuum is fantastic for anyone with blocked pores and blackheads that want to treat them at home.
My first impression was that I loved the packaging and the style of the pore vacuum. They have made this very simple to understand and use. All of the directions that are needed are clearly on the box. You simply charge up the device, add the app to your phone, and then decide on which vacuum head to use and then get to work clearing congested skin.
This amazing pore vacuum really managed to make me feel old! Talk about modern technology and all done at home. The pore vacuum connects to your phone so you get a really up-close view of your skin and everything that gets extracted from it! To be honest, normally I do love this kind of thing but even I was a bit grossed out to see all of my blackheads up close. Through the Manicare app, you can also take photos and videos of the pore vacuum in action. Of course, it is possible to use this device without connecting to your phone.
The pore vacuum comes with a variety of different heads. I used the microdermabrasion head as it has been some time since I have had microdermabrasion and my face was in need. This nozzle worked really well to remove dead skin. I didn't find that too many of my blackheads were extracted but I possibly also needed to use it slower over my skin. I also used the large circular nozzle over the parts of my face with blackheads. This did a fairly good job of extracting blackheads although it still left quite a few. I would think that over time the more stubborn ones will loosen and hopefully be removed. I also used both nozzles mostly on the slowest (of 3) functions. My husband also used it with slightly better results but he was much slower and had the setting higher.
A word of warning- make sure you follow the instructions! It is also a good idea to start off on the weaker suction and work up from there. My husband decided that he wanted to get out one particular blackhead from the side of my face and went over the area too many times and the next day I was left with a red patch. The rest of my face looked much smoother the following day.
Overall this is a great at-home pore vacuum! If you have congested skin then this would be a great item to purchase. With frequent use, your skin will be left less congested and glowing.
This was my first time using a pore vacuum, I’ve always wanted to try one as I get a lot of congestion and blocked pores in my tzone. This definitely worked at sucking out most of the blockages! I particularly liked the microdermabrasion nozzle, which made my skin feel really smooth afterwards and removed all the dead surface skin. I wouldn’t say I’ve got overly sensitive skin, but I just did my tzone as the suction even on soft was pretty strong and could easily cause damage. I also found the normal nozzle effective and only used the narrower one on my nose. I did have a mild breakout afterwards of small white heads but I put that down to my skin having a purge and clean out after the microdermabrasion and the suction bringing the oils and congestion to the surface. The camera and app was an awesome bonus! So satisfying to see a close up of your pores being cleaned out as it’s happening haha!
Tips: Definitely don’t hold the vacuum on one spot of skin for more then 3 seconds and keep it moving, otherwise you can bruise the skin and cause damage. Some of my pores were a little red afterwards. I would also only use it on the tighter areas of skin, like your tzone only. Also I would recommend using it only about once a week because you don’t want your skin to overcompensate and produce more oil if it is over used.
