I tried this a couple of times. I always do a smokey eye look and am far from a a beginner when it comes to make up but this was just not a good product in my opinion.. I watched a few tutorials and when I did I knew this wasn't going to be for me, but alas gave it a go. First time I tried it I tried it applying directly from the 'pen' I had to use a eye primer or there would be barely any colour there.. I looked horrible. I looked like I had been punched in the eye, it wasn't blendable at all and didn't wear very well, any sort of movement made it crease and wear off. Second time I used a brush.. To no avail, I could get the shimmery white colour on but no way could I use the black.. The black is just messy, its more like a sheer glitter rather then a black.. I like the shimmer of the white and it would be great for highlighting the brow bone and inner eye, but that's where its going to stop from me unfortunately. I wouldn't even recommend this for beginners unless they are doing a basic sweep of colour!

Tips: The white colour is great for highlighting the brow bone or inner eye/under the bottom lash line.. But apart from that, I wouldn't recommend. I generally like max factor products but I feel this one leaves a lot to be desired.
very disappointed int his as I like to use these crayons as a base under powder shadow, did not stay on and had worn off completely within a few hours
The colour comes out too vibrant to be smokey, and smudges too easily so can get messy very quickly. Not good value for money considering you have to mix it with other eye shadows/cremes to get a proper smokey eye
Okay, so I didn't look like a pie after using this - but it definitely didn't give me that smokey eye effect. The only thing 'smokey' about this product is probably the shade of the colours. I couldn't get it to blend and it would just 'cake'. *sigh* Maybe I was applying it wrong? Not the product for me - but it could be for you! On a side note, the colours are rather nice though!
On my first try of this product I thought it was absolutely amazing, so easy to apply and the colours were great. After getting used to using the product I noticed it would crease a lot so I do not use the product anymore.
Tips: I think this product is good for smokey eye beginners.
I finally tried this product out, and it happened to be for my ball in September and I was really disappointed by the results. The colour was amazing with intense definition but the product would just crease and it was absolutely horrible. I regret trying out a new product for my ball! :( would not recommend !
This was one of my earlier attempts to create a smokey effect and it looked so simple I thought I couldn't go wrong. How wrong I was. I couldn't get a nice layer of colour and could not blend the two to create the desired effect.
Tips: You could try using one colour as an all over...
The idea of this is really cool and would be so good for beginners or anyone feeling a bit lazy but this product is a let down.
It goes on nicely at first and is a quick way to do a smokey eye buuuuut within even an hour it's sliding all over the show, feels super greasy and all gravitates towards the crease and makes a not so appealing dark chunk of colour there.
The product also broke really easily the first time I used it.
I got 2 of these on sale. The colours are lovely, but application is really finicky and within an hour horrible creases form and it looks dreadful. Tried it with and with eyeshadow primer and it doesn't make a difference. Its also very hard to get a constant application and ends up messy and cakey.
Good idea in theory, but its a waste of money as the quality is pretty bad.
even with using only the lightest pressure these snap off and become unusable on the first use. The only success I have had is to depot the broken bullets into small pots and use like a cream shadow but even then they creased really badly and were really glittery.
