Tips: buy all of them
I hate to give negative reviews, but its important for consumers to get balanced reviews so of course will share my honest opinions! I expected great things, and so many people are OBSESSED with this lipbalm, however i find it has a yuk taste (when you rub your lips together) and moisturises for a few minutes only to make them feel more dryer-one of those ones that makes your lips worse and doesn't seem to actually begood. I know in the US they are a 'medicated' Dr Rescue Baby Lips version-id be interested to know if thats any better! For someone with chronically dry lips, dont recommend sorry!
I would just describe these balms in two words- Amazingly brilliant!! :D Maybelline has developed one of the best lip balms in the market, for me at least! I bought the coral crush variant and the results were highly satisfactory. The packaging is incredibly cute, anybody would instantly fall in love with it. About the size of my index finger, i.e., 2.5 inches. The color of the balm appears tangy orange, but on application it's like light orange or rather peachy.
The balm does what it claims, though unexpected (you don't usually trust commercial ads). There was a lovely, natural sheen on my lips which wasn't so overpowering as a lipgloss (good thing for a daily basis). The color was translucent peach-y, with light orange shade.
My lips had actually transformed on three applications. They were pinker and so incredibly soft! :D The fine lines weren't visible and there were no white flakes anymore (always annoyed me). No matter how many times I applied there were no deposits formed.
Staying power is fairly good, about 3 hrs. It mostly gets absorbed and lips look moisturised and shiny.
I've tried nivea too, but baby lips had actually given me baby like lips so my favourites have changed.
Looking forward to buying other colors, since these are reasonably priced too.
Definitely a must, must have for every girl :D!!!
I suffer from really dry lips and have tried A LOT of different lip balms before discovering this one! It is really affordable, smells great, and doesn't have that same disgusting sunscreen taste that most SPF lip balms tend to have. The packaging is adorable, it's a great size, and I always have a couple of these in my handbag.
Tips: I wear Baby Pink during the day at work (as it is a really nice, natural looking colour), and Pink Blast in the evening if I am going out but don't feel like putting on full make up. They are great.
This is a recipe for smooth soft lips. I use the tinted version of this and I absolutely love it. Such deep soft application. reason why I love the tinted version is because it provides some colour on the lip of ya not feeling like a lipstick. Such a high quality lip balm for a drug store lip balm. It took me a while to get on the bandwagon for these but I'm glad i did.
I love the packaging font and colours use a cool. These are so affordable i picked mine up from Kmart for like $5.00. I would recommend these especially the tinted ones because they are so versatile can be used as a light lip colour with out having ti use a lip stick as well as a nice moisturising lip balm.
Love this lip balm. Use it daily really helps to keep my lips from drying out and its long wearing too. Mango pie smells divine
I love the Maybelline Baby Lips range! As a girl who prefers sticks to tubs for lip balm (hygiene reasons), their irresistible combination of moisturising and delicious smells are great. I also love the tinted versions when I want a bit of quick easy colour. They're affordable and really good for the lips, definitely noticeable healing of my previously chapped lips in a few days. I've tried Limited Edition Protecting Berry (centre white one, NYFW edition, clear berry lip balm) and Tinted Rose Addict (not featured in photo, tinted dark pink) and both were really great.
Tips: Use a soft toothbrush or washcloth to make sure lips aren't flaky every morning before applying lip balm to help lips be extra smooth for lipstick application. Also, make sure your choice of lip balm has a good SPF for all those hours in the scorching NZ sun this summer!
I love my baby lips! I got given one of these a week or two ago, and it has stayed in my handbag since. Makes my lips feel soft and moisturised, and has the perfect little hint of colour. I cannot wait to try the other flavours and shades!
Chapped lips gone! It worked wonderfully and within two days my lips were already back to normal! Plus the smell and taste of this wonderful lip balm leaves a pleasant feeling. You do not need to remove while eating because it tastes good unlike other lip balms i have used in the past
I was intrigued by the hype surrounding baby lips - I mean all lip balm sticks are pretty much the same right? (Except Hurraw - oh my, now THAT is a lip balm worthy of hyperbole.)
The packaging is cute - bright, girly and unmissable. But essentially the same as any other chapstick - round, cap lid etc.
The range of 'flavours' are pretty standard, fruity and fresh - nothing sounds off-putting. I chose mentholated mainly because I was curious if it would be an alternative to Carmex
The menthol scent is strong and it does have a refreshing cooling sensation on your lips. For some reason I never associate menthol with moisturising, but my lips felt instantly smooth. Consistency wise the product is not 'bitty' like other cheap lip balms but it doesn't feel as creamy as some more high-end lip balms do.
I don't believe the product lasted 8 hours - I use lip balm through the day (I have pots and sticks everywhere!) and I felt I had to reapply this more than I would my Hurraw, to keep that soft feeling.
So to sum up - I still don't really understand the hype around the product. I think the brand, packaging, price and wide availability are more appealing than the actual product to be honest. There are better lip balms out there, even in this price range.(Sierra Bees for example)
Tips: I wouldn't recommend this if your lips are in need of repair - it's not a heavy duty lip balm, but it's ok to have in your handbag for an emergency.
