Maybelline Brow Tattoo Gel Tint Review

I’m not a suitable candidate for microblading and this product is the next best thing for me. I’ve been using it for 4 months and I absolutely love it. My sister bought me the Dark Brown shade from Australia for $AUD25 which I thought was utterly ridiculous for 5ml but aside from a few clumps of product here and there it’s still going strong.

What I love about this product is that I have 3-4 days of freedom from filling my brows and that my brows actually look good! Of course they look nothing like microbladed brows but they look natural, nicely shaped and is a fraction of the cost of the treatment.

When I first used the product I used a brown eyeliner to lightly outline the shape of my brows. The colour of the product looks black and in certain lighting you can see the brown but just be mindful it does come off as more of a darker brown/black which is perfect for me.

The consistency reminds me of semi-thick PVA glue and just like the glue it’s easy to wipe off if you make a mistake. Don't allow it to sit too long or you’ll end up with the tint in an area you don’t want. The applicator is a small synthetic brush which is saturated with product so ensure to wipe off the excess.

When applying the product for the first couple of times it felt awkward not using an angled brush to shape my brows but follow the natural way your brows grow so that the brush is not going against them. Ideally you want to be “glueing” (while shaping) your brows down.

I start applying the product in the centre (mainly out of habit) because I want most of the pigment in that area before moving to the other areas. You need to have enough product on your brows so that you can ideally peel it off in one go. I then wait for 15-20 minutes and then peel the product off starting from the end of my brows and c’est voilà beautifully shaped brows for the next 3 days.

The tint is darkest on Day 1 and each time you wash your face you'll notice the pigment lift. My brows fade evenly so it's not like anyone is going to notice that you have brows one day and the next they're gone. By the 4th or 5th day I can either fill my brows in or reapply the product.

If I’m not happy with my attempt then I can always fill it in with powder until it fades but I’ve only had to do that once over the 4 months. I no longer need to outline my brows and it takes me less than 2 minutes to apply. I would highly recommend this product for those who enjoy having some freedom from filling in their brows for a few days.

I love this product. I've got dark hair and eyebrows but after many years of plucking my eyebrows I've got bald patches. So to even out my eyebrow colour and give them a fatter style this is my go to product. I use it every 3 days. I apply it at night and leave it on for about an hour, longer then what it says but I find if I leave it on longer then it lasts up to 4 days. I'm sure it would last a week if I didn't use waterproof eye makeup remover every day. Once I've put it on I then pluck any hair that is outside the style shape. It has no smell and before it dries it is easy to remove if you've got it somewhere you shouldn't. I've been using the same tube for the last 7 weeks and it's still got plenty in it. The brush applicator is like a nail polish brush so it's very easy to apply and get the style you want.

This was my first home brow tinting product and I was so pleasantly surprised! I mean, when I first put it on I got a shock, I looked as though two caterpillars had died and rotted on my face. But I bravely stuck it out for the 20 minutes recommended and then got to peeling it off.

Basically it's a thick tinted gel that goes on with a brush. I, being a novice and scared, had only applied it thinly, so I found it quite tricky to get off - it didn't peel in one glamorous piece like the picture on the box. I ended up picking bits out and then brushing the rest out with a brow brush. (It doesn't stick to the brow hairs which is a bonus.)

But once it was all gone - wow! I get my brows tinted professionally when I can afford it, and honestly, I couldn't see any difference in the effect at all. It looked amazing and natural and it lasted for four days without any fading.

I have dark brows, and the colour I had was grey/brown, which was perfect. It was really easy and a definite must-have in my make-up collection from now on.

When I was invited to trial this brow tint I was so excited as my brows are not perfect, I like to fill them in everyday so I thought this would save loads of time, I used the colour Grey brown and it was such a nice colour for my brows, I left the tint on for 20 mins but you can even leave on for longer, I swatched on my hand and after about a minute there was already tint on my hand so this product works fast! The actual product comes with an easy to use applicator which helps to create a good line when filling in the brows, The product is a sticky consistency which is a little hard to work with but nothing to stop me from repurchasing this time-saving product! The instructions are also very easy to follow, there are only 3 steps and they have pictures on the box to follow. The only thing was that it was a little hard to peel off and some of my eyebrow hairs came off, but I loveeee the end result and will definitely use again

I’m in love with the formula of this product,

I carve out my brows with super light concealer before I apply this so I can make sure both my brows match then fill it in with the gel, the colour light brown was a perfect match for my brows with no auburn cast.

I love that it dries and can peel it off, no need for water or messing up the rest of my face. It peels off easily and leaves behind a soft natural tint which I find lasts a good few days (yusss)

My biggest peeve is the brush applicator it’s self, I find it a bit clunky and hard to get a super sharp line on my brows, (esp the tail area) but I just apply and wipe away any excess with a q tip which works fine but would love to see it maybe come with another brush for precise application. Overall I love that this makes my life easier.

This has also given my mum some new brows, I applied this on her brows and it has been amazing as she hasn’t had brows for the last 20 years from over plucking. She is thrilled with the results, It’s a game changer for so many people.

A brow tattoo gel, I really was not sure about this but I was prepared to give it a go!

My brows are a huge part of my face and are the one thing that I make sure that are on point. I usually use a powder to do my brows so this was a totally new concept to me.

This tattoo gel comes in a tube, similar to a mascara,. You unscrew the lid and there is a brush with product on.

I chose the medium brown and the colour on the brush looks quite dark, but it all ends up ok.

You apply the gel to clean brows. I just followed the shape of my brows which I had just had shaped so I was off to a good start. The gel goes on smoothly and you leave it on for at least 20 minutes. I did that exactly because I was quite nervous as it was dark and I had visions of these super dark brows and wondering how to hide them!

So I peeled the gel off, it was not hard but it would have been easier if I had put a thicker coat on, but we live and learn. This revealed the most amazing coloured brows, well shaped and good to go!

In the morning I did my usual make up and had absolutely nothing to do with my brows, nothing!

This first application lasted three days which I was more than happy with. I will continue using this brow product and will repruchase it, I actually think this could be my Holy Grail brow product!

My first thought of this product was that it is very similar to the ETUDE HOUSE Tint My Brows Gel (one of my favourites) so I was interested to try out a western version of the peel off brow tattoo. Essentially this tints the skin of your brow and is supposed to last for around three days. Since I love cleansing my face I was eager to find out if this would actually last that long. The instructions for this product is fairly simple with only 3 steps. All you have to do is apply it, wait for it to dry and then peel it off. I thought the applicator would have made applying this product difficult as it is similar to a brush tip lip gloss applicator, but it was surprisingly easy. I do have quite thick brows though so those with thinner brows may find it difficult. I accidentally left it to dry for about an hour (suggests drying time should be at least 20mins) and it hadn't irritated the skin. After peeling it off my brows looked very nice, a bit too strong for a no make up day but it fades very nicely. The tint from this product lasted very well through the heat and also through swimming. My only con is that there isn't very much product and considering you have to keep dipping back in you end up going through this very quickly.

I must admit, I was a little skeptical about this product and my brows are something I don't like to tamper with too much. I have tried and true products I use on them that I know are going to deliver and keep me strong in my brow game.

My brows were thick when I was younger, but as I've gotten older (and after having 3 kids and my hair falling out) they are now quite patchy. One of my browns just has no arch anymore so I fill them in with brow pomades, pencils and brow mascara.

I applied the Maybelline Brow Tattoo easily, following the instructions to the tee. When I peeled it off I was a little worried it would pull my brows off, but it didn't. And WOW my brows looks amazing! Even the top of my missing arch was back! The colour was perfect and it lasted 3 days just like it said on the box.

I'm definitely getting some backups of these - they're amazing!!!

I have absolutely fallen in love with this product, I am so happy this has come in to my life - I no longer need to spend the extra money to get my brows tinted when I get my wax done!

This was genuinely SO easy to use. I have pretty full brows to begin with, but the hairs near the tail of my brows are very thin and very blonde, so I am always having to tint the hairs and fill my brows in during my daily makeup routine. This brow tattoo tinted the hairs and I think possibly the skin underneath, meaning I don't even need to fill my brows in when I have this on! I did my brows this morning and all I did was line them so they were a bit sharper, but I haven't needed to fill in any thin bits because the tint has done such an excellent job!

I did do two layers of this just to be sure, because the first layer I put on was pretty thin and I didn't think I had enough coverage, I left the product on for 25 mins and am so happy with the results, it does say you can leave it on for up to 2 hours, so I can imagine if you did leave it on even longer that the results would be even better. It's super easy to peel off and no need to wipe any excess product away either, because it just peels off! I've had this product on for 3 days now and it's still going strong!

This is definitely a 10/10 for me and I can't wait to repurchase. I've added photos to the photo wall of before, during and after.

I have never really used anything on my brows so this was extremely different for me. I have always wanted defined brows but have never had the time or the money to spend buying various products to see whether they worked or not.

When tryng this product for the first time I think I put too much on my brows as the product says you can peel it off after 20 minutes. However this wasn't the case for me the first time I used it. It was a little disappointing too because I had put on a face full of makeup and waited for the brow tint to dry. However I needed to remove it with warm water and cleanser. I think as time went on I got better at applying the product and it did peel off. I think it definitely gives you defined brows and it's only took 20 minutes for good results. The second time I tried it I left it on for around 45 minutes and the colour was definitely darker.

Consistency: This product definitely lives up to the gel consistency.

Smell: It also doesn't have an overall strong smell but it does still smell a little bit. However I didn't mind this too much.

Use: I seem to get around 3 days of the results. I don't mind what it looks like when it fades either. When it started to fade I would just put another application on. This worked fine and still looked good!

Results: It does what it says it's going to do! More defined brows and I'm in love with the result. I love the colour it's given my brows too.

Packaging: The packaging is cute and eye catching. Easy to read instructions especially for me being a newbe with these kind of products!

Price: I think the price is alright! I don't think it would last overly long for someone who wants to use it everyday.

Applicator: I think that this brush could be smaller. I struggled to stay in my brow and went out of the lines quite a bit. I feel like a smaller brush might be helpful for someone. Especially for someone who has had their eye brows threaded or are naturally thinner. This would help with applying the product more accurately.

Overall would definitely buy it again. I loved the results. I had people noticing a difference and they kept asking me if I'd had them professionally done. I would definitely recommend this product to friends also.
