This is such a great product. I found it easy to use and worked really well. It’s matching my eyebrows perfectly and holds up nicely. I will definitely be using this product all the time and recommending it to friends.

The Maybelline TattooBrow Gel Tint is packaged in a small box. I am testing the dark brown colour and was worried about how dark this would be, so was a little nervous about the very simple 3 step instruction on the outside of the box. 1. Apply it - very easy to apply. Just open and swipe the wand over your eyebrows until fully covered. Very easy to apply 2. Let it dry for at least 20 mins - my kids thought I looked hilarious for these 20 minutes. The product dried very well and my skin had no reactions. 3. Peel it - just peel off, this was surprisingly very easy, no hairs pulled out. I am absolutely loving the result of the tattoo brow gel tint. It has come out a nice natural brown colour. Very happy and now a convert, no longer need trip to beauty therapist for eyebrow tints.
Using this product I was apprehensive. But I have had my eye brows died before so knew what to expect. The packaging of this product was sophisticated and sleek. I found the application of the gel a little difficult as I wasn’t really sure how much I was to put on each eye brow so I had enough to pull off. The gel has quite a strong smell to it but not unpleasant enough to need to take off before the 20mins is up. After the 20mins I pulled off the gel. I was very scared that it wa going to take my eyebrows with it but all stayed put!!! Thank goodness! My eye brows where dark and striking. I found that they colour last really well too (3/4 days) if you are care not to scrub your face when washing. I didn’t get any irritation to the gel either whIch is a positive. This product is a great way to save money at the beauty therapist if you a keen to do it your self or to take away with you on holiday so your eyebrows are always looking perfect!
Tips: Ensure to stay in the boundaries of your eyebrows and wipe up any mistakes quickly with warm water for the best result. Hey
I often ignore my brows. One of my biggest fears is making them look ridiculous instead of bold, so I often shy away from using a product in them, instead just brushing them out. But I have gaps and it can look quite underdone, so I decided to take the plunge with this product.
I love the packaging - it is very sleek (like a lot of the recent offerings from Maybelline, it feels like the brand is growing up). I must admit I was very intimidated before trying the product - I even made my friend try it first (she did offer!). However I’m very glad I took the plunge, as it was definitely not ‘too much’ (I was quite worried the end result would turn out something like how it looks before you actually peel of the formula, which quite frankly would be a disaster). In fact, I got the darkest colour as I have dark brown brows, and it wasn’t too much at all. I left it on for an hour as my friend tried for 30 minutes and didn’t find it dramatic enough. We also reapplied after one day - it didn’t last for 3 days. After applying it did itch slightly, however it is easy to apply, which means the application process is pretty pain free. For me, it didn’t come off in a nice few pieces which I was hoping for, rather in little bits so that was a bit tedious. I was left with brows looking more dark and fuller than how I started, so I was happy with that.
So it didn’t live up to its claim of long lasting results. However, I think I like the product enough for what it is without that feature - I prefer having to touch it up rather than having harsh long lasting brows. If you’re looking for something that does have more of a ‘wow’ factor this is probably not the product for you. However, if you want a product that will naturally amp up your look and are willing to put up with the application time, it will be a better fit. A product that does both (looks ‘natural’ while maintaining a tint over a few days) would be great, but I am a lot happier with this product than I expected, and I’m glad I put my hand up to trial it. I finally have a brow product that is going to get regular use!
Tips: Leave it on for a lot longer than 20 minutes - it won't look too harsh!
Thanks Br for the invite for this, i was a little scared i must say as i have quite light blonde/brown eyebrows and i darken them a little with a pencil everyday so i guess it was just habit and a wonder if it was going to be too dark. I first of all tried to get my eyebrows in shape and then i brushed the gel on, i totally freaked out as its really dark! My husband was like what!!!!! I left it on for nearly 20 minutes and pretty much spent the time going oh gosh what have i done, it has a little smell not to offensive but enough to notice. I still had a little few damp patches when i started to peel it off but it came off easy enough and while its a little darker than my pencil was i think i could get used to it. I have managed to make it last 4 days so far im on the 5th and it seems to still have a good colour each day has faded a little from the initial colour. Im pretty sure i will use it again but maybe before an event as i think i was worried everyone was looking at my eyebrows but they honestly weren't that dark lol.
Tips: Make sure you tidy and even your brows out before hand as i think untidy brows will be more noticeable once they are a little darker.
First impressions are great! Comes in a cute little compact box and looks great.
It is very easy to use with a little applicator brush and you just spread it over your eyebrows. Have to admit I really did put a lot on - all or nothing right!? I have tinted my eyebrows before at home and it usually ends up going everywhere, but with the applicator and gel consistency of the tint it stayed on perfectly.
After waiting twenty minutes I slowly peeled/scraped it off and voila. They were definitely darker but I didn't see a huge difference. My brows are normally quite dark and I used the grey brown colour which looked like the darkest from the pictures. It did fill in my brows which I liked.
It didn't last as long as I would have liked - about 2 days - but do have to remember that its only a temporary tint so in comparison to filling in my brows every day it is a much nicer solution.
I will definitely keep using it and purchase again - saves a lot of time, quick and easy to use and does a great job.
Tips: Don't be stingey with the application!
I was very excited about trying this product because I love beautiful brows but find it a real pain to keep them looking good. Maybelline claims that this product will create a look that will last for days. First and foremost - it does create a beautiful look BUT it doesn't last for days. That is the reason I only gave this product 3 stars.
Let's start with the application. It applies beautifully. The gel has a thick consistency. It goes on easily. The brush is easy to handle although a finer tip would have been better to fill in the tail of the eyebrow. I didn't experience any burning, itching or flaking. The colour (Grey Brown) was perfect for me - I have dark brown hair and this gave a beautiful dark brown ashy colour effect. I left it for 20 minutes and it peeled off without any discomfort or removing any hairs. The initial look was very nice - not too dark and not too blocky either. I was impressed. I didn't use any cleanser or makeup remover over my brows in the evening when I removed my makeup, only water - it is advised that no cleansing products should be used for 24 hours. Unfortunately the effect faded very quickly even though I avoided the area. I would have definitely repurchased this product if the effect was longer lasting. I just don't think having to wait for 20 minutes for a product to dry to create an effect that only lasts for a day or two is worth it. I will most probably not repurchase or recommend this product to others.
Tips: I found it easier to remove the product from the start of the brow than from the tail of the brow.
Yessss I love this product!
when it is described as a game changer I totally agree. I have relatively full brows but I still like to fill them in every day. When I used this product I didn't fill them in, I only used a clear brow gel and they looked so good!
This tint is super easy to use, it comes with a little brush on applicator which I think is super easy to use, you need to put on a decent amount to be able to peel it off properly. I wasn't that good at drawing it on completely my eyebrows but that doesn't matter it doesn't seem to stain the skin around the brows so it is all good! You just leave it on your brows for 20 mins and then peel it off and you are good to go!
This tint left my brows looking really really good. I think for me it probably lasted about 2 days but I wash my face twice a day and so I think if you made an effort to wash around the brows or less then it would definitely last longer.
I don't usually get my brows professionally tinted so I can't compare to that but I don't know why you would with this product now, I feel like this product will give you the same result as a professional tint and you can do it at home whenever you want.
This product didn't have a strong smell or anything, I barely even noticed it was on my brows while it was developing so I am super happy with the way you use it.
This product was so easy to use, the colour was good!! (I had dark brown) I actually don't know if there is anything wrong with it or anything I would want to change to be honest.
If you are someone who gets their brows tinted all the time then I think definitely give this a go it might save you some money and time!!
Tips: Put on a decent layer!!
I absolutely love the aesthetic of the package. The body of the tint is a matte black cylinder, and if someone were to see it in your purse would probably mistake it as a mascara. The bronze lid takes up nearly half of the actual body and is slightly reflective. When you twist it open, the applicator reminds me of a nail polish brush, but the formula smells a little like PVA glue, and looks like tar. It is definitely thicker than nail polish though, but I'm sure not as thick as actual tar.
When I first tried it, I did my right brow first. This is my first ever gel tint so I was quite shocked at the formula and how to apply. I felt like I shouldn't put too much just in case my brows ended up looking like black caterpillars. I removed it after 20 mins as per the instructions. I realised that I freaked out over nothing and actually more product is better. Since it is a tint, it’s literally supposed to just tint your brows and not fill them in like a pomade would. I tried to remove the gel on my right brow first but I think because I didn’t apply as thickly as I was supposed to, it hadn’t come off in one and go - I did scrape a bit, however the left one was more satisfying to remove which came off in one go.
Since it said not to wash around the area for 24 hours, I didn't use my usual face wash and opted for micellar water. However, the following day after showering it seemed like it had faded considerably which was disappointing as it claims it lasts for days and "gradually and evenly fade overtime". Side-eyeing you, Maybelline.
However I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and re-did my brows two days later, following more strictly to the 24 hour rule. This time around I was not afraid to layer much more, however once I did peel off the dried gel tint, the inner part of my brows did end up looking like black caterpillars! I had to use a spoolie to soften out the edges, but I was much happier with how my brows turned out as they did look quite defined. Unfortunately, the outer parts of my brows are a little more sparse so those weren't as defined (I made it work though, ha)!
After a day passed, I washed my face as per normal in the shower, and my brows still looked defined though a little more natural. I think we have to remember that this product is a "tint" after all, so of course you're not going to come out having instagram eyebrows.
Personally, I don't believe this lasts a few days. At best, I'd say 1-2 days even following the 24 hour no-washing-around-the-area rule. I'd say this works better for people who want to achieve a more natural brow look and/or have evenly sparse brows. I, unfortunately, am part of the slightly patchy brow crew so don't think tints alone would work for me.
Altogether, I would have rated this higher if it weren't for the false claims. I would not personally buy this, but instead recommend trying out korean brow tints which are much more affordable.
Tips: Use a spoolie to even out any patchy areas.
I get my eyebrows tinted. Something I'd rather not do but my brows are so thin and non-existent I have to! When I read about this product - it sounded like a replacement for my salon tint - and time saver and great for the budget
The gel comes in a tube similar to a mascara container, just smaller. Colour for me was Light brown. Reading the instructions, they've kept to 3 steps and simple. Brush it on, let it dry, and peel off after at least 20minutes.
The product goes on in a similar consistency to PVA glue. It goes on easily and smoothly. I painted the whole brow until hairs were well covered and sitting flat. The thinner outer edge of the brow was harder to paint to a thinner line, but I used a cotton bud to clean up the edges, plucked a couple of stray hairs around the edges once I liked the application, and the brows looked great! Waiting for it to dry I barely noticed the product on, and it didn't feel like it was tightening as it dried, which I liked. It dries to a touch quite quickly too.
I left the gel on for about 40 minutes. When it came to remove - it came off surprisingly easy, I picked up an edge of the gel with my fingernail and then pulled the gel off, which came off in mostly one long piece, to reveal a perfectly shaped and filled in brow. Very little product was left behind, and again a finger nail can remove any little strands left behind.
My brows looked really good. I was impressed. My eyebrows looked a little darker, the gaps filled with colour and they looked even! I don't have thick eyebrows, so you could definitely see the product between the brows - but no different than using another brow product to fill the gaps, or straight after a salon brow tint. The next morning - I checked the mirror and they were as I left them, perfectly formed and filled. They didn't appear to have really faded (I hadn't washed my face since application).
That morning after washing my face I did notice a little fade. I hadn't taken great care to avoid the brows with my face wash. Despite the fade they looked filled still. The more noticeable aspect of the fading was that with the light brown, it was fading off to a slight auburn/orange tint on me, which I toned down a little with my bb cream over my brows. The next day I took more care with washing my face, but again the fading was continuing, and I knew I'd be needing to do the tint again the next day. In my experience the product lasted 2 days well, and 3rd day I was wanting to re-do it. The fade shade I wasn't totally fond of, but I could fix that I imagine by choosing a different shade - maybe medium brown or grey.
The fading aside - I love the product, and it's probably enough to give up the salon tinting to do it at home instead. I get a nice tidy brow each day without fumbling with pencil and other products. I can do it at night and have lovely brows ready in the morning! I really like it and will continue use.
Tips: Leave it on a good 40 minutes or so for a good starting point with the tint as the fade happens quickly
Take care with cleansing and try and avoid brows so they don't fade too much - I imagine a gentler cleanser than what I use would help with slowing fade
