Maybelline Colossal Curl Bounce Mascara

I'm always keen to try new products so was stoked to be selected to review this Maybelline Colossal Curl Bounce Mascara. The tube is white, easy to hold, and with a lovely fluffy wand. The mascara coats the wand adequately without being over-full, and is easy to apply. I didn't experience any of the promised curl effect, but it gave good lash definition and nice colour coverage. Once dry, I was able to go about my life without smudges (I tested this on a humid day), and it came off easily in the shower with only hot water. Overall, I was disappointed that it didn't deliver on the curl promise, but this is a good mid-range mascara.

I wish I loved this mascara as I can see it's a 'Top Rated' product here on Beauty Review - but I certainly wouldn't place it in my top 5 favourite mascaras.

The brush/wand is a bit big for my liking. It's just not delicate enough to get into the corners of my eyes.

I've found other mascaras that make my lashes look longer and better separated than this one does.

The other thing that I didn't love about this one is that it's not easy to remove. Perhaps I'm being too fussy. It's great that it doesn't smudge or flake, but I also want to be able to easily remove my mascara with a micellar water, and this one takes a bit of work.

Love this mascara for the office or a normal day! It’s light and white fluffy but not heavy & dramatic so would sub it would if going on a night out!

Packaging is as you would except from maybelline, the tube is large, round and white. Brush size is good! I don’t think my lashes curled but it was easy to apply and is waterproof. I had no flaking which is always a bonus!

I grabbed this from the beauty vault after hearing good things about it and reading all the comments on here hoping this mascara was going to give me gorgeous curled long lashes as others have experienced.My first thoughts when I saw the tube of mascara was like,wow that's a rather big wand to use and it looked too bulky however the brush inside was curved and a good size to cover your lashes.I thought it was good that the brush was curved which makes the mascara easier to apply on top lashes but my lower lashes were a bit harder to reach and I found it quite messy because the brush was too big to reach into the corners.The formula made my lashes darker and did lengthen them but I had hardly any gorgeous curl effect even after applying 4 or 5 coats.I had a little volume but nothing dramatic so for me this mascara would be ok for a daytime look but it's not one I would use for a nighttime look.I would purchase it again because it was flake,smudge proof and had lasting effect plus it's not too badly priced especially if you can pick it up at a discounted price.

First impressions. The wand has a slight curve in the centre which made the application a breeze!

It added a nice subtle curl to my lashes as I was layering the product. I did two coats on each lash and the build up was lovely! My lashes actually touch my eyebrows when I look up (I do already had longer natural lashes) but this mascara just adds a gorgeous amount of length and volume to my lashes.

I did find that this mascara was slightly clumpy so I tried to go in with a different applicator to brush and separate the lash clumps but the mascara had already set so it made it difficult to do so. So the next day I tried it again and I wiped the excess mascara off onto the rim of the tube (I do it this way so that when you put the wand back in, it picks up the excess stuff on the side so there is no wastage) and I was immediately impressed with the application. It wasn’t clumpy at all and it actually made my lashes look like they were natural looking extensions! I have never had that with a mascara before so I was very impressed.

Overall it’s such a nice smudge proof mascara. Definitely an 8-10 for me! It’s so easy to remove and didn’t leave me with panda looking eyes after my shower like all of my other mascaras do on my lazy eye make up remover days.

I enjoyed using this mascara. I felt it separated my lashes nicely. I didn’t notice a huge ‘curl’ as advertised. But it did a great job still and washed away easily in the shower.

I was lucky enough to be selected to trial this. So far I've found it to be pretty good - The colour is a nice dark black, it removes easily without too much rubbing which I like and it's quite buildable for those of us who like to apply more than one coat. The wand has been pretty good at picking up all my lashes, even the ones in my outer corner that usually give me a bit of trouble. The one thing I don't like about it, and it wasn't until I got it out of the packaging and put it on my vanity, is that it looks like a tampon. It's a really silly thing to be put off but I just don't like that aspect of this product. I have suffered no eye irritation or product flaking off my lashes with this which is another point in its favour. I would purchase again depending on what price I could get it for.

I'm always up to find my next favourite mascara, and so was happy to trial this product (thank you BR!).

First of all, I like the packaging - it stands out from any other packaging I own and was very easy for me to spot amongst the clutter. I did find the packaging a little lightweight though - which meant it took me a little to get used to holding/controlling the wand.

The mascara itself did a fantastic job of lifting and separating my lashes. Usually I find most mascaras make my lashes look chunky on second mascara application, but this one did a wonderful job of enhancing thickness without clumpiness.

The lift lasted all day, which was brilliant.

The only reason I'm dropping it down in 'kissage' is that I did find it flaked during each of the days that I wore it, which wasn't ideal. No panda eyes though, and it washed off well.

I'd definitely consider repurchasing in the future if my usual favourite wasn't available/discontinued.

This Mascara comes in a wide bottle which is nice and easy to hold. At first glance the wand is a little strange and I wasn't sure how to use it. But it actually works quite well. The formula is nice and thick and glides on nicely and drys almost instantly so you don't get accidental spots on your eyelids. I found it left the lashes looking dark and not clumpy with just one coat. However I did not notice any curling affect. Maybe this was my application technique? It stayed in place without any panda eyes and removed easily with Micellar water on a cotton pad. I would recommend this product but if your looking for curly lashes your may wish to continue with the eye lashes curlers.

Maybelline Colossal Curl Mascara comes in a white tube that is comfortable to use. The brush has a slight curve on one side and is flatter on the other and making it easy to coat every lash. The colour is blackest black so the lashes really stand out. One to two coats lengthen and thicken the lashes but I didn't see a noticeable curl. It took three coats at least to make the lashes really stand out. From the first coat, my lashes were separated and there was no clumping. The mascara lasted all day but tended to flake a bit towards the evening and my lashes lost their volume slightly. Overall it's a good all-round mascara that can take you from day to evening with an extra coat.
