I tried this Mascara over the course of a few days. I put it on my bottom lashes as it said it was waterproof so I thought it wouldn't smudge, but I was wrong. Put it on at 8am and by the time I got home and looked in the mirror at 3.30pm I had smudges under my eyes. So for this reason I haven't rated it 5 stars. I dont normally wear a waterproof mascara as I find them a pain to get off. I used my Glow Lab cleansing balm to get it off, which seemed to work well. It seemed to stay quite well on my lashes with no smudging on my eyelids only the bottom(dont normally wear any on the bottom) It was definitely black and lengthened my lashes quite well. Was just the 36h waterproof part that let it down.

Love the bright color on the bottle, When I put it on I loved the fact it went on smoothly, didnt clump and didnt end up all over my eyes. At first I thought gosh no as it really felt like my eyelids were sticking together even tho they looked great. But after 5 min I completely forgot I was wearing it and only when I saw my reflection was reminded by my fab looking lashes. Waterproof most definitely, multiple showers, random downpours and the cry test all passed with no smudging or running at all. was it 36hrs hmm not sure they were as bright and defined by then but atleast 24. Overall I'm a fan and would definitely buy it again. Loved that it didnt make my eyes water from being sensitive to it, no panda eyes and some great complements
Tips: I added a second coat several hours later for a stronger look
Great mascara. The wand is a bit bigger than I’m used to, so just need to change the technique a wee bit. The formula is great though, stays on for hours, but is still easy to take off. Great for a night out where you need your makeup to last for hours!
I found the wand a bit big and awkward to use as it had bent and wispy bristles which along with the thick consistency of the product made it difficult not to overload the lashes. Not sure if it was meant to have such a wispy applicator, but this seemed to affect the amount of product that was applied to my lashes despite scraping a lot of product off the wand, attempting to apply a thin layer was difficult. This product definitely added volume to my lashes, lasted throughout my 16 hour shifts with minimal transfer above my eye (which can look like a second eyebrow with other brands) and the colour is perfect. When it came time to remove the product I had a hard time getting it all off, first using micellar water then my The Ordinary squalane cleanser but still had flakes around my eyes in the morning, so it definitely has staying power. All in all it is a good product that does what it claims to do, but doesn't make it into my top 5 mascaras due to the thick consistency and awkward wand. Maybe I got a dud wand, but I wouldn't spend money on another just to find out.
Tips: Trial applying with different wands if possible to see if this reduces lash overload
I honestly didn't have huge expectations for this mascara, as I've been underwhelmed by Maybelline mascaras in the past -usually too watery, clumpy and smudgy for me. However this has been a pleasant surprise and is a mascara I'm very happy to use.
The tube is quite chunky but easy to unscrew and grip, so I have no complaints there. I like the brush, which is a fairly average size with medium length bristles. I appreciate that it doesn't pick up too much excess product, which I find is a common problem amongst different mascara tube designs.
With one coat of application I get decent length and some volume. A second coat starts to get a bit clumpy, but adds a lot of volume. The formula is not too watery, so it can be built up to a certain extent.
The waterproof aspect has been very reliable for me so far, and a huge bonus is that it holds a curl very well. The longest I've worn it is probably 14 hours, but I experienced no flaking, smudging or discomfort. Very impressed with the longevity.
Overall, I'm happy to be using this mascara and think it's a great waterproof option. If I could change anything it would be to have a little more volume without clumping, but it is certainly a sturdy and reliable everyday mascara.
Tips: Definitely use an oil-based remover as micellar water or facial wipes won't cut it. Coconut oil on a cotton pad is a great option!
I’ve used this for a good while now and it’s definately a go to for me although my friend who specialises in lashes has recently said how waterproof mascara can really dry your eyelashes out so I might have to have a break. It’s a good consistency and goes on nicely with no clumps. I find the brush is nice and seperates my lashes to coat each one. It is hard to get off but that’s what you want isn’t it. No panda eyes here.
It didn’t add a lot of length to my lashes but oh my lord the volume was amazing! It gave my lashes such a beautiful make over without leaving my lashes look like a clumpy mess. Something I am so passionate about. A huge pet peeve of mine is clumpy separated looking lashes.
It wore amazingly! No smudging of any kind and it lasted all day, flake and mess free! The only issue I have with this mascara is it is really, really hard to get off. I tried three different types of cleansers including an oil cleanser and it would not budge (I guess in hindsight it’s a good thing given it is a waterproof mascara). I think having a proper eye makeup remover is a must with this mascara.
At first I found this quite clumpy both on the brush and eye lashes, it took a few goes of wiping the brush and re dipping to get it more smooth and even. Personally I prefer a small brush to a big one but this was ok. The colour was lovely and dark and once on looks lush and gave my lashes a lovely full and long look which I loved. Also for a waterproof mascara came off super easily with an oil cleanser. Overall I liked it and would purchase but still do prefer a small brush
Tips: clean and re-dip brush a few times to start with to get rid of any lumps.
This mascara was easy to apply, I like the applicator as it separated my lashes and coated them individually whilst giving me a little bit of length, I did find that it gave a more natural look then the dramatic look that I was expecting from this product.
Next time I tried it, I did a few coats to achieve a more dramatic look, I did find that it started to clump on my lashes with little bits of product so you do have to be careful with that but it did give a much more 'evening' look.
Once applied it did dry very quickly and with wearing it all day I did fall in love with it, it did not transfer and I did not have panda eyes at all! However this was definitely a harder mascara to remove, it didn't budge with my 'Face Halo' and only moved a little bit with 'Micellar Water' I ended up finding this product has to be removed with a makeup remover balm or coconut oil to really break it down and get it off.
Tips: Make sure you have a balm or oil to remove it.
This mascara definitely lives up to its claims - it's smudgeproof and waterproof and does last up to 36 hours. The design of the brush is great at lengthening lashes, but I think the formula needed to be a little thicker to really allow for volume as well as length. I felt as though because the product was so thin, I needed to apply several coats before I really got the effect I'm after with mascara. It was waterproof and smudgeproof but it wasn't as difficult to remove as I thought it would be, which is a good thing because no one wants to be literally pulling their lashes out trying to remove their mascara! Overall I think it's a really great product, I just would have loved for the formula to be a bit thicker.
Tips: If you're wanting more volume and a darker colour, you'll need to apply a few coats to get that result.
