Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick Review

I love this product so much. I have only recently started to wear lipstick and this was this first brand I used. There is such huge range of colours to suit every single women out there. It also lasts a long amount of time! I recommend to all women out there give this product a go!

Recently I have grabbed a few of these, making the most of the wonderful buy one get one free deal at Farmers.

The lipstick itself is wonderful, the strength in the product means its not too soft so that it snaps when applying it, and the pigmentation is quite high for the price, very unexpected. The packaging is cute in its colour matching lid to the actual shade, think that will come in handy with the upcoming darker, colder mornings where I'll be blindly swiping for a lipstick. Long lasting and a creamy texture on the lip means this is a perfect lipstick for everyday wear, only needed to top up after at least 5 hours of stay power.

I have had 4 of these, im down to just one in Pink please which is one of my favorite lipsticks.

The colour range is amazing, for maybelline especially, i love having tons of options, and i like the fact they have alot of dupes for high end lipsticks.

These lipsticks are creamy, pigmented, moisturizing, and all colours are very wearable.

They arent very long lasting but with a lip liner underneath and if you set it with a transparent powder they last alot longer. They feel nice on the lips and they arent scented which makes me happy.

when i run out of pink please i will definitely repurchase because its such a flattering colour

It was my aim to venture into some bolder lip colours, and with the 2 for 1 Maybelline are doing at the moment it was a great chance to try a couple out!

The packaging is cute. The colours are great, such a huge range. It applies really smoothly and feels quite moistursing, not cakey. When I first put it on I thought it smelt a bit like my kids Play-Doh, but that smell seems to have gone now thankfully.

It isn't as long lasting as some other lipsticks I have, but wore well for about 3 hours which is great. Will be heading in to get a couple more before the special runs out!

I picked up a couple of Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipsticks this weekend after seeing the awesome 2 for 1 special Maybelline had on at Farmers. This was the first time I had tried a Maybelline lipstick and I am so glad I did, the quality beyond met my expectations.

Firstly, the colour selection of Maybelline's Colour Sensational Lipsticks is really amazing. There are so many options, and they're grouped in different types which makes it easier to choose if you're looking for something specific - Matts, Reds, Pinks and now Buffs and Vivids. I have an amazing cherry red, aptly named Very Cherry, and the stunning Vivids colour Hot Plum. It was hard pulling myself away with just two, I may have to be back next payday!

The packaging itself is very cute. The coloured plastic caps help distinguish at a glance what lipstick type it is, bright red for the Vivid and a dark red for the cherry lipstick, and they have stickers on the base that match the lipstick shade. This comes in really handy when you have more than a few lippys and you're in a bit of a rush!

The formula itself is really pigmented, creamy and quite moisturising, which will be great in cooler months. I didn't find it drying at all and I have quite dry lips. It's also lightly scented, soft and sweet which I guess is the "nourishing honey nectar".

You can apply these lippies straight to the lip in a quick swipe and they'll look great, however for longer-lasting wear I first exfoliated my lips, lined them with a nude liner, and then applied the colour straight from the bullet. The shape meant that good application was easy without a brush. I then blotted and reapplied. The finish was nice, not too matt or shiny so perfect for day or night. I found that the colour lasted pretty well, a few hours of colour without reapplying. It does transfer quite a bit, I ended up with the usual lovely lipstick marks around my coffee (but that's how people know it's mine!). Definately worth a touch-up after eating.

These lipsticks are fantastic! So pigmented and bright and there's so many shades to choose from. Lately these have been my first to go to when buying a new lippy and have just bought a few more colours because of Farmers sales. They last for hours and hours too, I've noticed if I put it on before I go out even after eating and drinking you barely need to reapply. Goes on so nice and smooth, next time I need a new colour I'll definately be checking out this range first. Nice to find an affordable brand that works so well.

Just found this in my drawer, unopened - a random purchase last year that I forgot about. So I dug it out and wore it to work today. three of my co-workers noticed and I got compliments :-) lovely and buttery feeling, and a nice taste (I know I'm not supposed to eat it!) and not too bold ... I don't normally wear bright colours but will be making more of an effort from now on.

I have quite a few of these beautiful creations in my collection!

The pigment is fantastic in these lipsticks, and the colour doesnt change after awhile on the lips, some of the pigments can be compared to higher end brands and are on par with them.

The formula is beautifully rich,creamy and moisturising, but doesn't feel cakey or heavy, and lasts for a good 5-6 hours on me, they go on smoothly and don't drag your lips.

They have such a variety of shades that you could always find your perfect shades, including the buffs and mattes.

I do find they have a slight fragrance to them, I actually think they smell like caramel. Yum!

But they also have a taste I can't describe, it dies down after 10 minutes or so, but I'm not too keen on the intial taste.

They are a fantastic price, for a good quality lippy, in great classy packaging.

Will definitely repurchase and pop a few in my make up kit

I have Red Rivival, it is very beautiful colour. I brought this when I went crazy buying lots of red lippys trying to find the right red and this is definitely one of my top reds. It is a very smooth texture and easy application (I keep a wipe on hand to fix it up if i go over my lip line).

I did find that it leaked a bit in my lip cracks but I have recently found out that that is my fault due to not going through proper lipstick application (lip exfoliation and lip liner is meant to help). This colour looks good on most people, I have dark hair and pale skin and it suits. I brought this thinking it would be darker than it appeared on, the little colour swatch on the packaging is a bit off. The lipstick tube is very pretty and different. I got this on sale, and I personally think the RRP is a bit too much.

I did not find it lasted all day - more like 3 hours before it started to leak but this could be because I had been using it wrong by not doing the recommended steps of exfoliation and lip liner. The lipstick smells nicer than others do but I do not personally love the smell.

I love these lipsticks, in fact I love Mabelline because the products are reliably good, colours are great and last well and they are great value for money. It all goes to show that a lot of glamour can come in a sensible plain package. I am in Australia as I write and stocking up on the favourite colour that is always sold out! Maybelline lipsticks are a very under-rated product; the colour range is great as is the price and the quality.
