Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick Review

My colour was Petal Rebel and it was a bit of a shock when I opened the packet. Certainly not a colour I would have picked off the shelf. Here was this vivid bright pink colour looking back at me. Never the less I tried it and was surprised by the effect. Once on the colour was actually quite subtle. I felt comfortable wearing the colour in public. Normally my lips peel when I wear lipstick, but this has not happened. It's creamy and goes on easily. Whilst it looks quite bold in the tube, it's nothing like that once on. To maintain the colour I need to keep applying this through out the day, otherwise you wouldn't know that i actually had it on.

I was lucky enough to be able to try out this product for BR and I was excited and also nervous about which colour I would get!

I received a bright orange lipgloss, on first glance the colour looks very bright in the tube and I also like the sleek squared design of the tube. It has a silver lid and no big ugly writing all over it so I think it's quite sophisticated really. The colour that goes on your lips is quite rich and true to what colour you see inside the tube. It has an easy to use soft tip applicator, I found it great to apply and it didn't run outside the edges of my lips. It smells quite sweet, it actually sort of reminds me of kids antibiotics, not in a bad way though. The formula is not super glossy but it is not sticky feeling at all and it lasts for a decent amount of time. I experimented with eating and drinking while wearing it and while it does come off a bit (I think most glosses and lipsticks do anyway!) it seems to fade evenly and takes quite a bit of drinking or eating to make it completely come off.

Final thoughts? After trialling this, it has made me want to use some more of their products and maybe even go a bit crazy with my colours! This is definitely not a colour I would have picked up in a store if I had bought it (I'm a nude and light pink girl), but trying it out has made me want to try more brighter glosses now and I like how this is non sticky and decent lasting.

Always on the lookout for a great red lipstick, I bought Red Revival a few months back on a whim. I am pleased that I did because I have found a sweet, hot, true red lip colour. The formulation glides on easily straight from the stick or with a brush. It has a nice texture on the lips, moist without feeling greasy or heavy. The colour has good depth and a nice satin finish. Staying power is average, expect to reapply and beware that it will 'feather' into the lines around the mouth if given a chance. So far, so good. I would have given this lipstick a higher score except for a couple of things; the fragrance is decidedly naff but fortunately doesn't hang around or impart a flavour taint to food and drink, also the plastic packaging which starts off looking quite sleek and smart has become decidedly scuffed and tatty in my makeup purse.

I am in love with the formula of these lipsticks! They are matte but unlike some other brands where the lipstick is hard to get on the lips without lipbalm, this lipstick glides on with ease. I wore this colour for my leavers ball (with a lip liner) and it lasted most of the day/night with only a few touch ups so another positive is how long it lasts! For the price they are so worth getting a couple , I know I will be going out and buying more soon! Just to talk about this colour.. it is the perfect red! Can ber worn during the day and at night, it is my go to red!

Incredible in every way. I took advantage of the two for one deal $20.00 and struggled to select only two colours. The Matt is amazing, looks beautiful. The Coloursensational gives a vibrant look.

I would recommend that you blot for sure. I do notice that I have to reapply probably a little more than I would like when wearing these lipsticks to work, however this isn't unusual given it is not the long wearing type. Sometime my lips do look a little stained but with makeup remover, its an easy fix.

Absolutely recommended if you dare to be bold and want to stand out from the crowd.

i won one of these and so didn't get to pick my colour. i wasn't too worried as i wear any colour really. i got the bright red and it is definitly a bright red lol. while this went on fairly well i felt like it didnt quite last on my lips as well as it could have. i still think its a good lippy just not the best ive tried

I would have LOVED this lipstick.. If it weren't for this colour. I got this as part of a mystery make up bag and oh my gosh the colour is awful. It's brown, not even a nudey brown, a glittery, shiny, unflattering straight up brown. I honestly don't know who would be able to pull off a look like that. Certainly not me.

The formula felt quite nice. It was quite creamy and very easy to apply, with a vibrant colour and very opaque. But the colour.. just no.

I have a hot pink one of these and I love it! I get so many compliments when I wear it because this range is so different and stunning! Has a nice feel and doesn't get on my teeth!

Not a bad lip product but the one thing that really annoys me about it is that the colour of the packaging really doesn't match the colour of the lipstick! I bought it from a shop that didn't have a tester and the lid looks quite coral but the lipstick itself is a hot pink. It also isn't that creamy - I find it dries my lips out.

This product was on sale and their weren't any testers available, so on a whim I decided to buy the product anyway based on the colour shown on the packet. When I took the product out of the packaging, it was a completely different colour to what was advertised. The lipstick itself is quite good as it leaves your lips feeling soft and doesn't dry them out like other lipsticks I have tried, but as this isn't a long lasting lipstick you do have to keep reapplying it often.
