Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick Review

A translucent lid covers this cylinder containing this lippy, it has a tint of the lippy colour lurking below. So off with the lid a twist, up pops my lippy wow vivid for sure, vibrant and creamy this glides on so smoothly leaving my lips drenched in a moist colour with a bit of a shine.

Nice and bright this lippy stays for a couple of hours leaving my lips quite moisturised. I do use a lip liner to fill my lips in sometimes and that always increases the staying power, A delicate soft powder fragrance to this lippy, doesn't taste plasticity. I think this is good value.

I received this lipstick in my beauty box. When I first opened it I thought, wow that is bright, the colour I received was shocking coral which is a very bright pink. I thought it may be too pink for me but when I put it on, it actually wasn't too bright. I love the super bright lipstick case, easy to find in a messy handbag. The lipstick itself is quite glossy and shiny and glides on very easily. I found the colour lasted for ages, even when it faded, my lips were still pink. I did find it moisturising and my lips didn't get dry.

Fushia Flash is the colour I received in my BRBB & while it is a colour I would probably would not have purchased myself, I LOVE it! Wonderful bright pink, colour goes on easily, feels lovely and smooth and nourishing.

The packaging is lovely, bright case and I can use the reflecting end as a mirror when topping up at my desk. Stays on well.

I received the Vivid Rose which is too pink for me. Luckily I went to the pharmacy and tried the tester and knew immediately it was not my colour. I will be giving this product to my daughter who loves the colour and Maybelline lipsticks.

I received this lipstick in the September Beauty Box and was quite excited as I hadn't used a Maybelline lipstick before. The colour was very bright but still looked quite nice.

The formula was very smooth and creamy. Unfortunately I had to apply quite a bit to get nice, even coverage which then made it look messy and it wore off quite quickly.

I'd use it again once I buy a similar shade lip liner and then could use the lipstick in a more gloss-like manner, but until then it remains in my lippie drawer.

I received a beautiful nude lipstick (Tantalizing Taupe)n my September Beauty Box and have been obsessed ever since. This was by far my favourite product in the Beauty Box and I'm not usually a Lipstick kind of girl.

Colour Sensational is easily applied, wears long enough for me (4-5 hours including eating and drinking) and is moisturising. What more could you want from a lipstick?

The lipstick also has a soft, sweet scent to it.

Another product I was lucky enough to get in the beauty box (September box). I’m not 100% sure, but I think the colours in the BB were Pink, Orange, Red and Brown and I got a beautiful nude colour in my box which was called Honey Beige. I was so excited because my collection is seriously lacking in nudes.

This lipstick comes in a simple square based 'bullet' with a brown plastic lid. I have to admit, the packaging does nothing for me, but it’s simple and the lid stays on so it does the job well. However, it does not get a proud spot on my makeup vanity.

The formula of this lipstick is really nice in regards to application. It applies smoothly, and has a nice satin finish. It also feels moisturizing which is another bonus. For me, personally, this nude colour washed me out. It was just too light for my NC42 skin which is a real shame. I also find after application this lipstick only lasted 40-ish minutes before needing to be reapplied which is just way too high maintenance for me.

Overall, a nice lipstick if you can find a colour that works for you and if you don't mind reapplying often. For me however, I probably will not be repurchasing.

I got the Shade Vivid Rose in my September Beauty Box. Upon opening the rectangular pink tube I found a very brightly coloured lipstick which I immediately had to try on as it was a lot brighter than all my other shades. I absolutely love it and it is def one of my fave items in the box. It has a sweet almost vanilla/cocoa scent to it and applies smoothly, only needing one coat for a bright pop of colour. This is the first lippy that I have found stays on quite well during eating and drinking. I generally only need to re apply once and even then my lips are stained pink the next day. I like this as I find all my other lippys tend to wipe straight off as soon as I eat or drink and its a pain having to reapply. This also doesnt dry out my lips. Overall I love the shade and the wear of this, the packaging is quite bulky and not the most attractive but I can deal with that for such a great lippy. I will def be looking at this brand when I next need a new lipstick.

I have NEVER bought bright lipstick. I can be a super chicken when it comes to bold make up, and I've just never had the guts.

That changed with the BRBB. I received the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick in Fifth Ave Fuchsia, and I may just be a convert. It adds a delicious pop of colour, looking out of place.

The lipstick goes on beautifully, and has great staying power. I wore it to a glitzy awards night last week and only had to reapply once in 4 hours of eating & drinking!

It leaves your lips soft afterwards, and doesn't seem to leave it's mark on hubby too easily.

These are super creamy and comfortable lipsticks and at a really affordable price.

I have the shades 'are you red-dy' (blue based red), make me pink (mauve pink) and vivid rose (bright Barbie pink). The red is my favourite red lipstick that I own, as it seem to compliment my skintone and make my teeth look a little whiter (bonus!). Vivid rose was the shade I received from the BRBB and was a little scary to wear at first! I found that I stated off applying this lightly to build my confidence, and each time I wore this I applied this a little thicker so eventually I had a super bold pink lip. This really brightened my face and suits my pale skin. Make me pink is the shade I wear the least despite being the most 'natural' shade; it simply looks a little ageing on me. I quite like the vanilla scent of these, although if you get a little on your food it doesn't taste as good as it smells!

These feel very comfortable on the lips and last a couple hours on me before losing intensity. I didn't find that these lasted on me when I ate or drank unfortunately, and left me with a bit of a ring of colour (which was surprisingly hard to remove!). I do think though that these are a great budget lipstick choice, and the shade range means there is something available for everyone. Will be on the hunt for a pink-nude in this range.
