I heard a lot of friends "raving" about how awesome the Maybeline Eye Studio Tattoo was... I beg to differ... Although the colours are absolutely amazing, and look even better in the pot - I found these eye shadows absolutely impossible to apply and when applied the texture would start to look extremely patchy! When I left the pot for a couple of days and came back to try it out again, it appeared to be cracked and very hard for me to move it around on my eyes from the brush. I also found that the colours stuck to my brushes a lot more than other eye shadows. Maybelline Eye Studio Tattoo definitely looks better in the pots!

When I first saw these I was dying to try them, they were affordable and had a great range of colours. I brought the shade 'Barely Branded' as I was after a fairly natural colour and I was pretty disappointed. The application is messy as this product doesn't seem to want to go on where you want and I found it creased TONS through out the day. Having read other peoples comments, I'm going to try use it as a base instead of my main shade but overall I was very disappointed as it wasn't what I was after when I brought it.
I bought two of these years ago, but didn't like them at all, they weren't easy to use, they didn't blend well, and the color didn't translate. I wouldn't bother buying these ever again, and wouldn't recommend them.
i recently brought this in the shade Barely Branded, which is -supposedly- a dupe for a MAC paintpot, however i was so dissapointed in this product! i applied it using my fingertips as it suggests, as a base for my eyeshadow and i noticed no difference in my eyeshadow (no longativity or vibrance). i also read that it was a nice subtle highlighter, so i tried this and it crumbled, didn't sit well with my foundation and wasn't easy to blend. i was really looking forward to loving this product but sadly its not for me :(
One of the hardest eyeshadows to use. I used my finger as product would apply better and it was very very thin, giving my eye lid a very uneven and ugly glitter. Will not be buying again
I don't like these shadow bases. I find that they crease really fast on me and make my lids quite oily. I also find that the texture is quite chunky and it is hard to get a nice smooth application. I also found that the colour range wasn't very natural compared to the MAC paint pots.
I bought this in the colour barely branded and I had high hopes for it. Honestly I am disappointed, it doesn't last on my lids, after a couple of hours it has creased. Trying to apply it with your fingers can be hard, it isn't as smooth as I would expect and it can look patchy on your lids if you're not careful. I only use this as a highlighter for my inner corner.
I am disappointed with this product. The concept is great - vibrant colours in easy to use pots with a great consistency which is easy to apply, even with fingers! I found it did look ok on first application, but one of the things that let this product down was the fact that it clumps in all the creases of the eyes! Not what you want out of eye makeup. The other let down of this product was that it was very solid in the pot. It could have been this colder climate, but you really had to work the brush in to get the right amount for application. I wouldn't get this product again, I prefer to use powders!
the texture of the product made it hard to use, it did not smooth on easily and felt more like a solid balm than a gel. Also the colour it looked in the packaging did not look the same when applied to skin. The texture may have been more solid than expected due to the recent cold weather, but nonetheless I found it a bit of a hassle to work with.
Tips: Maybe use as a base before applying powder shadows.
