Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Review

This product often wins top mascara awards, I got it free with a magazine and was so excited because of all the rave reviews. I was really let down, it was really clumpy and then flaky :(

I was drawn in by the bright coloured bottle but was rather disappointed. I thought it would be great but I found it was quite clumpy.

I decided to give Maybelline Great Lash Mascara a go after reading several magazines voting it as the Number One mascara. However, the only benefits I found with this product were a) the price (very reasonable) and b) the colour. It is 'the blackest black' which I like, but the product doesn't seem to dry, every time I went to the mirror I would have mascara on my upper lids, even when I use a powder. I also found the mascara leaves my lashes looking clumpy, and doesn't enlongate them at all. I think a orice this good for a decent mascara is too good to be true, unfortunately!

This is classic mascara however as im so busy and i literally throw my makeup on my face and run out the door i found this mascara took too long to dry! meaning i had mascara flicks EVERYWHERE around my eye - no go for me!

My lashes are very fine and quite short so this mascara wasn't for me. It doesn't clump or glob but it doesn't lengthen or thicken much either. Stays on and easy to remove. My daughter really likes it because she has naturally long lashes so the mascara tinted hers and add them look longer.

I try to find the positive in all things and overall Maybelline is a nice starter brand but this mascara is really not for me. I like a mascara that will bodify, lengthen and even curl the lash but this doesn't do any of those things for me. I found I always had to remove excess product from the wand before applying or I'd end up with a mess. I wouldn't buy it again and there are many others I'd recommend to a friend before this one I'm afraid.

My mum always used this, so this was the first mascara I tried when I was 14. I used it for about a month and then decided that mascara was a waste of time because it didn't do that much for my lashes. But whenever I was given make up tips, it would always be to wear mascara.

Now that I am older and wiser, I have found better mascaras that actually do make a difference in the appearance of my lashes.

This is not the worst mascara in the world, but it's certainly not up there with the best of them, unfortunately.

This mascara is... average. The formula is very wet, so i find it hard to build up. It doesn't give my lashes much thickness, it does help a wee bit with length. Even when I apply a second coat it doesn't do the trick. However, it isn't a holy grail product of mine or a go to mascara.

The majority of my friends used this growing up, I fail to see why they'd choose to continue buying even to this day. The times I have used it I found difficult to apply without managing to get it everywhere else as well. The formula is very wet and makes it very difficult to get the desired effect, especially with my mid-length straight lashes.

This is definitely not my favourite mascara, I really don't understand why I've heard so many people raving about it. It doesn't really make my lashes much thicker and clumps them if anything, I've had much better lengthening mascaras and also ones that flake onto my face . I definitely think that's there's better mascaras in this price range
