Such an overrated mascara - I've read numerous reviews in magazines also & don't understand what the fuss is all about .. I found it clumpy & barely volumized my lashes. Would not buy again.

Like many others I was attracted to this mascara because of the colourful packaging and great price. I found that the only thing 'great' about this mascara was the price. Although it is really affordable I wouldn't be getting this mascara again. It doesn't lengthen the eyelashes that much and it smudges really easily. I found that although it says that there won't be any clumps, there were. I was not satisfied with this mascara at all.
I prefer the standard brush on this one and because of that, this was my standard mascara for years! Great black, easy to use and layer with, particularly the outer lashes, but as for wear... not so much. Its always under my eyes by the middle of the day and gives me a 'panda' effect by the end of the day, even with the waterproof type. I've since discovered better mascaras in this line.
While this mascara did an awesome job separating my lashes with little clumping it added no length and little volume. I have quite short blonde lashes so i wouldn't recommended it to anyone with similar lashes to mine. But for anyone lucky enough to be gifted with lengthy lashes with medium to full volume this is good for a boost and colour.
This is the first mascara I ever used and I recommend it as a starter if you are just starting experiment with makeup and wanna look natural. I wouldn't go for the waterproof one though. And if you are looking for a volumising mascara....don't look here, try the Volum Express range :)
I'm not too sure about Great Lash. I buy it about once a year, hoping I'll love it. It was the first mascara I bought after seeing the iconic pink and green tube in Mum's makeup bag for years when I was a kid.
However, the formula is so wet it's hard make it work for my lashes. My lashes are somewhat long and with other mascaras, have a decent amount of natural curl after a coat or two. With the Great Lash, it seems like the formula is too wet that it's just not buildable and it weighs down my lashes - which means I don't get length or volume.
It might be great paired with another mascara, perhaps - but for the meantime this is my 'no makeup makeup' mascara but even then I rarely turn to it. It doesn't work for me on it's own whereas other mascaras do, so I won't repurchase as it's too much hassle to get a good result.
I first used it at 12 or 13 and it's great for that age - it's noticeable but not at all 'makeup-y'.
I first got this mascara when I went on an overseas trip, it was one if the cheapest mascaras on the shelf. I have very long eye lashes and found that it made my eyelashes very clumpy. When applied, to much went on. And didn't do much for my eyelashes.
This mascara isn't too bad but I definitely would not purchase this again. Myother mascaras I have had in the past were much better. A good thing about this for me is that it has a small brush which is great for people with short eyelashes (like me). It doesn't have much volume in my experience, but everyone has different opinions.
I love maybellines mascara "one by one" so I thought id give this a try. For me personally, I'm not a big fan of the brush, it's very small with small brissles which I just can't work with my eyes, they don't seperate/ volumise enough but I do use the product with a different brush and it's great, the product really does seperate lashes leaving no clumps just like it says, has great staying power but is definitley not smudge proof! Easy to wash off when the day is done :) I quite like the colour of this packaging, it's easy for me to find in the draw :) I think it's a average mascara for it's price but there is better out there.
I have used this mascara on different occasions and I have decided it's not for me. I have medium length eyelashes that aren't that thick and found that I need 2-3 coats to get the desired length and thickness. In saying that it doesn't clump like some of the thickening mascaras.
Tips: Try a eyelash curler before applying. It will give you added length.
