The Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink comes in a stylish container that is easy to open. The day I got the ink I had to be in some work photos so thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try this out. The wand allows maximum precision when applying and was a little sticky after applying. I noticed on my first cup, a couple of hours after applying, there was a lipstick stain but when I checked, my lips looked a gorgeous peachy colour and my lips still had maximum coverage. Some fruit and lunch later, when I checked, the vinyl ink was still in place and stayed that way until I got home and had to remove it. Pretty impressive considering I had only applied one coat. Not only does it have staying power, it smells lovely too and I loved the 'Peachy' colour as it was natural looking. This is my new favourite lippy and I love that it gives a lovely shine and you don't have to reapply constantly. Highly recommended!

Tips: Just be patient for it to dry as it can make your lips feel a little sticky after applying.
I've struggled with liquid lipsticks, probably due to my lack of coordination and my very thin lips. I find them messy and they highlight my uneven lip line.
So I'm super excited to have discovered this gem from Maybelline - thanks to BR!
This goes on like a creamy matte, but the finish has a slight sheen. So it's not flat or drying, it's moisturising and gives dimension to your lips.
It's easy to apply and holds a nice outline. Touch ups go on evenly.
I got this in the colour witty and I love it. It's a little bit vampy and very 90s.
HIGHLY recommend!
WOW. Just wow. This is a smooth, creamy liquid liptick.
It's like Maybelline have taken the best of different lip products and blended them together into an uber-lip product.
- It has the sheen of a tinted lipbalm - It has the colour pay off of a matte liquid lipstick - It has the longevity of a longwear product - It has the smoothness of the creamiest lipstick ever - It has the colour depth of a lip stain
I chose cheeky, it's a mauve shade that really compliments my skin tone. I think it's a shade that would look amazing on almost anyone.
I love the packaging, I love the branding, I love the product.
Go forth and buy it in alllllll of the shades!
I was lucky enough to trial this vinyl ink lip stain, thanks BR! I’ve made it clear in the past that I love lip stains and have always been a fan of maybelline and revlons. There was a period of time when lip stains disappeared altogether and I must admit I was sad. For those that love the minimalist look, long lasting wear and low maintenance stains are a great option. This one has the promise of being a little more elevated than the usual stains I wear.. as in it is vinyl ink - so this means it’s not quite a matte finish and not quite a gloss finish. It’s hard to explain the finish.. but I would personally describe it as a little bit of a thicker application than my usual lip stains. This in turn also meant it takes a little longer to dry than my usual lip stains, but despite this the finish is not noticeable.
I trialled the shade coy (20). I love the colour! I generally am drawn to those similar shades to my natural colour or rosy pinks like colours and this absolutely falls within the palette I would use.
After the initial application and upon drying the feel of it is reduced and it feels as though you are wearing nothing at all, it does not chap or stick. I am surprised by the finish and I’m sorry it’s hard to describe.. but it is like a thicker stain but not quite matte or gloss so perhaps they have described it best as vinyl.
The longevity is exceptional! I applied this around getting ready to go out at maybe 5pm, and it was still going strong following dinner and my night mission to Kmart with me arriving home late evening!! I would still carry it with me for reapplication if needed, as it wears so well but if something I consumed did happen to break down the formula I can see it might be in one spot and I would want to correct this. Removal is thus harder but achievable. I used my oil based micellar and this did the trick.
Absolutely would purchase again, stains and inks are my favourite and I have made no secret of loving them throughout my reviews. I would stick to this colour as I generally stick with what I live and it is perfect for me so I cannot comment on other colours in the range but love this one! Thanks BR.
Tips: Give it time to dry and settle the results are worth it
When I was looking at swatches I didn't believe I'd acheive the glossy yet matte finish you see on the models. I know something can't be glossy and matte, but google them and you'll see what I mean!
The packaging is sturdy and handbag proof, they'll be no spillage or leaks. The applicator does the job, it's a good size to line and fill.
I loved my colour choice, peachy, very natural but also stirking.
It lasts well and touch ups are smooth.
I really liked this product - the shade was very similar to my lip tone so I felt it enhanced it without looking obvious. It dried quickly and seemed like a stain effect, where the top layer came off but underneath there was a pretty blush effect that lasted ages and didn’t come off.
Tips: Try blotting the top coat after it dries to get rid of any excess
Wow didn't think I would like this as much as I do! Cool colour I recieved (witty) it was more brighter than the picture shows but that was perfect for me because I don't mind that shade at all. It even makes for a great blush. This applies so easily and does the job at lasting. The packaging is pretty snazzy too and the lippy has such a lovely smell. Can't wait to try the other shades now!
I was lucky enough to be part of a trial team for this product, in shade 35 Cheeky. The packaging is rather clever, with the word "Vinyl" embossed on the outer, and the container colour matches that of the contents. Its quite a chunky container (you couldn't lose it), but its easy to grab and go. The fragrance is light and kind of a sweet vanilla, but its not offensive or overwhelming. Application is easy, one swipe and you're done, although it is also buildable. This stayed on from 7am until after 5pm, when I added more. My lips felt moisturised all day which I was surprised at, as previous lippys with staying power have become dry and cracked during the day. Cheeky is a lovely shade, but possibly too brown for my complexion. I will certainly look to buy more of this product in different shades. My new go to!
Tips: Apply a light coat, less is more and it is buildable. Allow to dry completely and it stays put.
Maybelline is a well trusted brand with a long-standing reputation. So having the opportunity to trial the Superstay Vinyl Ink lipstick, I knew I was in for a treat.
The colour I have is ‘35 - Cheeky’. It is a fantastic rosie nude. The package is a cute rectangle with embossed writing on the side. The lid easily screws off revealing an applicator for the liquid lipstick. The applicator brush is angled and a great size for coverage and control. The colour payoff is fantastic and is very long lasting. I have eaten with this on and it still stays. The formula isn’t too thick so isn’t reminiscent of the ultra drying liquid lipsticks of times gone by. The formula stays slightly sticky on your lips but doesn’t transfer. Definitely worth investing!
I remember Maybelline's superstay liquid lipstick when it came with a lip balm attached because it liquid formula was so drying.
It's come a long way.
The Vinyl Ink is so much sexier in so many ways.
First off, it doesn't leave your lips feeling like they took a trip to the Sahara Desert.
In fact the formula was so light after it dried I barely felt like I was wearing lipstick at all.
Application was quick and easy and it dried quickly, the associated flavour could however be improved.
In terms of staying power it did last pretty well throughout my workday, but by about halfway through it started transitioning from 'full bodied colour' to 'stained and could benefit from a touch up.'
I also really liked the packaging, although perhaps slightly bulky, it was cool and felt like at 'it' product.
I would super stay with this lippy, of which I had in the shade Lippy.
Tips: Shake the lipstick before applying.
