Maybelline Tattoo Brow 36hr Pencil

I really loved using this brow pencil. It gave super even pigment and a really natural brow colour and coverage. The spoolie is great too! They give great shape and my brows have never looked so good. My penciled brows survived a workout and they don't come off at all should you rub them. I wanted to test how long it would last on my brows, so I penciled in my brows in the morning and they stayed exactly how I penciled them all day long. I removed my makeup (minus the brows) and went to bed, sure enough in the morning they were mostly as I had done them, with a spoolie and slight touch up they were good to go. They definitely last the 36 hours plus more.

The only downside to this product is that there is not a huge amount of it so unsure that it would last too long as there's only 0.73g of product. I also imagine that the more you use it the more difficult it would be to use as the point will have ground down and it won't be as precise. Overall I would recommend this as it looks great and is quick and easy to do. It lasts a long time and looks very natural.

Maybelline Tattoo Brow 36hr Pencil is high pigmented smooth gliding eyebrow pencil designed to last up to 36 hours.

The pencil, come with the pigment at one end and a spoolie at the other.

Personally I think the pencil would be better classed as a crayon, the formula was so creamy that it lacked the rigid application of a pencil and needed a bit more control to apply than I first expected. However the bonus of such a slip and slide formula was that there was absolutely no drag.

The spoolie was a nice touch to give people the option of better brushed or more natural looking brows. Most days I tend towards a sharper brow line, but I like having the choice to soften it.

The main thing I didn't like was that the pencil needed sharpening. With the materials the pencil packaging was made of and which such a creamy formula, a retractable option would have been much nicer looking and more user friendly. In fact I thought it was retractable until I realized I couldn't find anywhere to twist.

Colour-wise an excellent match for my brows. I opted for the soft brown which looked closer to a medium brown on my brows but didn't have the too dark and intense look that a lot of the darker browns do. In terms of wear, it wore all day without wearing or sliding off, but also left no residue when removed.

I was impressed with how well it wore.

I usually use a soft black pencil or brow gel for my eyebrows as I have black hair. However, I was surprised at how the darkest shade of the range, (260 Deep Brown), worked for me. It is a dark enough brown that once I had it on you couldn't tell I was wearing a brown pencil and I didn't miss the black.

The formula is soft but goes on sheer, (feels almost gel like), and you can build it up if needed. The pencil is a bit chunky for me though, it doesn't give you any precision and the softness of the product means the tip is worn away quickly. I do not like how it is sharpenable. I feel sharpening the pencil wastes product and makes it harder to hold as it gets shorter so I would prefer if it was retractable. Also, as the pencil has a plastic casing rather than wood, it is going to blunt a sharpener pretty quickly.

It wore very well. You have a few seconds to blend it if needed, then it is set and doesn't budge. The spoolie has a nice shape which blends the product and tidies the brow hairs well. I get migraines often and I forget I'm wearing makeup so I tend to touch my eyebrows and forehead when my head hurts. Even after doing that through the day, I noticed the brow pencil was still on.

I think it's a good pencil, it is long lasting and easy to apply but I would have liked a retractable feature with a sharper tip.

Thanks Beauty review i really like this product its a nice size pencil and the tip is already sharpened ready to go. The brush is a bit longer than most brow pencils and i find it nice and soft but firm enough to get a good brush. I got the soft brown to trial and its a good colour for me and im between colours so a bit blonde/brown/grey lol if i push harder it goes darker so im really happy with it. It lasts really well and has been sweat proof with the warm humid days we've been having. I think it might even be longer lasting than 36hrs. Definitely another product i will continue to use and buy in the future.

Wow what a unique product!!! I was lucky enough to be on the trial team for this pencil and I’m so glad I was. The first thing I love about it is the spoolie ,it’s solid so you can really get your brows in the position you want before or after you’ve applied the pencil. I always feel like others will snap off at any moment. The pencil itself is a real pencil, not mechanical like some of the finer tipped ones so you will need a sharpener handy. The product itself is unexpectedly creamy and ultra pigmented so definitely apply with a gentle hand, if you get too much on the brow then use the spooly to brush it out a little. I fell asleep on the couch the other day and it didn’t fade or budge but I’ve worn it in my brows for 15 hours and it definitely wasn’t as bold as it was when I applied it but actually looked more natural as the day progressed. It is really creamy so I’ve had to sharpen it after only a week but I think it’s still good value. I can see why they call it a tattoo brow pencil as you can definitely create a tattooed look with it. It is a thicker pencil so you’re not going to get fine brow strokes with it but if applied lightly it will fill your brows in beautifully. The lightest shade is still quite dark so unless you love a darker brow then this won’t be the product for you.

I love Maybelline so I was delighted to try this product.

It comes under plastic on a cardboard backing with Maybelline branding. For some reason, there was a gold sticker stuck over the instructions.

The product itself has a hard wire brush on one end, which is ideal for a brisk strong brush that gets my unruly brows back in place. On the other end, is the pigmented product which looks like a felt pin with a fatter tip.

The product is easy to apply, though my complete lack of artistic skills is obvious. So easy to apply even if my application isn't prefect. It is too dark for my pale skin and leaves me with a surprised look, but that isn't due to any fault in the pencil.

What I love about it is that it is easy to apply, easy to remove (if you make a mistake), and lasts the 36 hours, so it does what says it will. Once applied, it looks exactly the same as my friend's tattooed brows, only darker. At around $22 it is also a good price.

This arrived just as I finished my usual eyebrow pencil. Perfect timing, thanks BR! I received the ‘deep brown’ shade and was pleased to see it is a ‘cool’ dark brown. I’ve used a warm toned one before which made my brows look quite red! This ended up being just the right tone for me. The pencil feels quite soft when you apply it so it glides on smoothly and easily. I then blend it in with the spooley to soften the look. The spooley is firm enough that I can fully blend the pencil in with just a few strokes. The resulting look is natural with no harsh pencil lines.

Once set, this stays in place all day. No fear of accidentally wiping your brows off mid afternoon! Even at the end of the day they still stay out if I rub them. I can’t attest to whether they do stay on for 36 hours as the pencil was easily removed at the end of the day with my usual balm cleanser. I can’t actually imagine a situation where I would want to leave it on for that long, so this wasn’t an issue for me. The pencil definitely doesn’t temporarily tint your brows if that is what you’re looking for.

The only downside for me is that this isn’t an automatic pencil and you have to sharpen it. It is also cased in plastic which makes it harder to sharpen than a wooden pencil. Apart from that, I would definitely use this again if my usual eyebrow pencil wasn’t available.

This product is so awesome for that rush morning you can create a nice soft brow, it doesn't give you alot of precision as it's quite creamy and has quite large tip so doesn't stay sharp. This type of pencil is not usually what I go for but I prefer a skinny tip but when u go in lightly and spooley it through and build where needed it's great the colour lasts all day however Im not sure I know anyone who needs it on for 36 hours but as for a good 10 hours was great.

I got a light brown which seemed to match my coloring well. The packaging didn't give me much in the way of order so I brushed my brows, applied creamy pencil and then brushed again to blend. This process worked for me. I found this lasted well on my brows (at least 1 - 2 days) but also it didn't come off easily with make up remover.

I did notice the pencil went down quicker than expected and couldn't seem to figure out how to sharpen/push up the pencil. After some research turns out you sharpen the tip with a pencil sharpener. I wasn't aware of this and it didn't say anything on the packaging.

Overall I am happy with the product, good coloring and easy to apply.

I tried the shade 260, dark brown. The colour is fairly close to my natural shade which was a good start.

The pencil has the traditional two ends. The product end and a spoolie end. The product tip reminds me of a small crayon as it's more rounded then pointed. It's consistency is creamy which made it easy to blend in but also hard to define or outline small areas of your brow. The pigment is strong so a light hand is needed. Once dried it is smudge proof and set without feeling heavy or waxy.

The Spoolie end is one of the best I have come across for a brow pencil. The bristles are thick and sturdy but still have some flexibility to blend the product in. It blended in nicely and left me with a bold brow. I'm not 100% convinced about the 36hour staying power but it does appear to have some water resistance when water lightly touched then. I managed to remove fairly easily with my normal cleanser.

Slightly annoying things I have discovered are firstly how fiddly it is to sharpen as it smooshes into the side of the sharper. Secondly the lid needs a really firm push to stay on.

It's definitely worth a try if you like to fill in your whole eyebrow or have thiner brows. I normally only touch up a few small gaps in my eyebrows so I normally reach for a product that has a finer tip like the Anastasia Brow Wizz. I found this product a little too difficult to just touch up gaps so I ended up applying to my whole eyebrow instead. I probably wouldn't repurchase only due to this.
