Hated this mascara, did nothing positive for my lashes what so ever. I found it disappointing as I had heard so many great reviews about it. For me it really clumped my lashes, and they got the awful spidery look about them. Also found the formula to be very runny, and when applying it would always transfer to my eyelids. Very annoying. I have tried both the waterproof and normal formulas and no luck with either :(

After the rave about this product i thought it would be good... but after trying it i found that it makes my lashes really clumpy and not very nicely spread apart.. quite dissapointed with this mascara
It's not often that I hate a product, but this one takes the cake for me. I got it because of all the hype of a "false lash look", when all I got from it was a clumpy mess. It may all be down to the brush, which when I looked at it made me cringe before I had even tried it. I'm fussy when it comes to mascara wands, so I wouldn't buy the best mascara in the world if I didn't like the brush. I wouldn't purchase again.
I'm a big fan of Maybelline mascaras. I really don't see the point of paying a lot of money for mascara especially as it's a product we are told to replace every few months. I also have a love/hate relationship with new mascaras. I always find I have to wipe the wand to get rid of the excess when they are new. Then you have that golden period of time when the consistency is just right, before they start getting a bit old and clumpy. Unfortunately this one was clumpy to start with and all the way through to the end.
I do like the colour of the packaging and the tube is easy to grip and open. I also like the slight curve of the brush and the fact that the wand is flexible. It would be good if the top of the wand was flat so that you could stand it up on its end when you are cleaning up the mess from clumps, because, did I tell you? It will clump! Applying mascara has never taken me so long as I've had to comb my lashes through to get rid of the clumps and also blot the clumps off my eyelids. It was like I'd never applied mascara before!
On the bright side I did get asked which mascara I was wearing when I used this so the results were good. Once I got rid of the clumps.
I would definitely buy Maybelline mascara again. Just not this one.
I have very long but sparse lashes and this mascara is just too clumpy for me. And I like my lashes a little "spidery" but this was just too much.
The ads in magazines and the cool looking brush wooed me into buying this mascara, the brush took a while of getting used to but i liked how it didnt clump and the consistency wasnt too thick, it didnt do much for volume and it was next to impossible to remove the mascara, im not a fan of this mascara
Maybelline volume express mascara wasn't what I expected. The packaging says "the falsies volume express" so I expected my lashes to look fuller and longer like false lashes do. This mascara does deliver slightly fatter lashes but not as much as I expected. I liked that it doesn't clump or flake but wouldn't buy this one again.
Doesn't every girl who loves makeup crave lashes that look false but are real? I know I do! I am always on the hunt for mascaras that will add volume and length without the clumps and sticks together. I am no makeup pro so gluing false lashes on to my eyelids is not something I want to do. It not only looks complicated it looks too high maintenance for me! I would rather play up what I naturally have.
When I saw that Maybelline had a mascara out that claimed to make it look like you had flared falsies, I was in line to get my hands on one! I paid full RRP for this because I wanted it that bad. $27.95 is pretty normal for a mascara any way so it wasn't a bit deal. I am in love with the fuchsia colour of the tube and the baby blue writing. It's very bold and stands out which of course I love! The brush is a whole new level of awesome! It curves to mirror the shape of the base of the eyelid which makes it easier to grab each and every lash and brush it to perfection. It's not too bulky like other brushes that are hard to control and end up with far too much product on it.
The true test begins. I open my eye and start at the base of my lashes. I learned a trick to wriggle the brush side to side as you brush up because it gets the mascara in to those hard to reach places. It definitely makes it easier to prevent clumps and too many lashes sticking together. This is where the pros stop for me though. I applied three coats and was still searching for my falsies flared look? Yes I got volume but it fell short when it came to the length! I was disappointed because this look I could get with any $2 shop mascara and still have money left to get a primer!
Although it didn't give me what I was looking for I plodded ahead to test the stay power. I gave it the ultimate test by wearing it whilst working out to see how 'waterproof' it was. After a half an hour cardio session and a shower I was met with panda eyes to the max. Now I know this was extreme so I wiped it off, reapplied and wore it all day long whilst doing my groceries and shopping. It managed to stay a bit longer but I still saw a slightly black ring forming under my eyes! Summary, no it doesn't give you the promised falsies flared look, yes it gives volume and no it doesn't have stay power. Would I use it again? No!
This was my first ever mascara and since i was younger of course i thought it was good but no looking back it isn't as good as the mascaras i use now. It made my eyelashes look clumped together and did not separate them.
I love the colossal version of this mascara but this falsies version is just a mess. The brush is all wrong, it does give alot of volume due to the fibres which also get in your eyes and the formula makes my eyes water like nothing else, and to top it off it flakes off all over your face by mid-day. Do not recommend.
Tips: Try the colossal (yellow tube) it is amazing compared to this.
